Now reading: Chapter 770: The Fairy Type from Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom (Re-Upload), a Fantasy novel by GoldenDragonKing.

"Surely there are people here who use Dragon-type Pokémon. Soone can volunteer to try, no matter what their choice is," said Cain.

Imdiately, the gazes of those from the Kalos region turned toward Drasna.

Drasna was dressed in an outfit reminiscent of a tribal shaman, but her character was extrely kind. She was always willing to help others and wore a warm smile on her face.

It was said that her grandparents were from Celestic Town in the Sinnoh region. Because of this connection, Drasna had decided to specialize in Dragon-type Pokémon.

When Drasna noticed everyone staring at her, a slight blush appeared on her cheeks. However, she didn’t hesitate. She took out a Poké Ball and, within the mist field, summoned her Pokémon.

Before the group appeared a Pokémon with a completely red head and a pale blue body.

Druddigon!

A Pokémon registered as a Dragon-type in the Unova region. Among those present, many imdiately recognized it. Although it wasn’t one of the most outstanding Dragon-types, its purely draconic nature made it perfect for this test.

Pokémon: Druddigon (Light blue)

Gender: Male

Level: 52

Type: Dragon

Ability: Rough Skin

Held Item: None

Egg Moves: Thunder Fang, Crush Claw, Iron Tail, tal Claw

Basic Moves: Leer, Scratch, Hone Claws, Bite, Scary Face, Dragon Rage, Slash, Crunch, Chip Away, Revenge, Night Slash, Dragon Tail, Rock Climb

Learned Moves: Thunder Punch, Dragon Pulse, Outrage, Snore, Stomping Tantrum

TM Moves: Protect, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Flathrower, Rock Tomb, Rock Slide

Cain took the opportunity to scan Druddigon’s information with his system. It was useful to collect this data in case he faced Drasna in the future. It never hurt to be prepared.

"Master, could you send one of your Pokémon to take the attack from Druddigon?" asked Cain, addressing his teacher.

Old Matsuda gave him a reproachful look, fully understanding what Cain was asking: to use one of his Pokémon to test the effect of the attack while Cain himself avoided doing it. With a sigh, he took out a Poké Ball and summoned his partner, Charizard.

Drasna rely nodded. "Druddigon, use Dragon Claw on Charizard," she ordered.

"RAAAWR!"

With a roar, Druddigon’s claws beca enveloped in a dense Dragon-type energy and struck Charizard directly.

Bang!

Charizard raised a hand to block the attack, his expression serene. This level of force wasn’t enough to worry him.

Cain gave the next command: "Florges, remove the Misty Terrain. Drasna, please have Druddigon attack again."

Following Cain’s orders, Florges dispelled the Misty Terrain. Drasna, without saying a word, ordered Druddigon to use Dragon Claw once more.

This ti, the result was notably different. Although Charizard again raised a hand to block the attack, it was clear his arm sank slightly from the impact. His face showed more effort than in the first attempt.

As Charizard’s trainer, Old Matsuda was the first to ask how he was feeling. The answer was clear: the second attack had been almost twice as strong as the first.

Silence fell once again. Even Drasna, despite her kind nature, couldn’t hide her astonishnt at the effect of the Misty Terrain move. The thoughts of everyone were clear: The supremacy of Dragon-types was in danger.

Cain continued the demonstration by having Florges use the move Moonblast, a Fairy-type move. This new move was also unknown to many of those present.

"Actually, Fairy-type moves are effective against Dragon-type Pokémon. However, considering that Drasna will participate in upcoming competitions, it’s not appropriate to use her Pokémon for further tests," explained Cain after the demonstration.

At that mont, it was Sycamore who stepped forward. "Then I’ll use my Garchomp. It’s perfect for this test," he said confidently.

With those words, a majestic Garchomp appeared in the room. Compared to Drasna’s Druddigon, this Garchomp seed like the true ruler among Dragon-type Pokémon.

Sycamore’s Garchomp was an elite-level Pokémon, a true representative of high-level trainers.

Cain commanded Florges to use Moonblast again. Although the attack didn’t cause serious damage to Garchomp, it was clear that the latter felt a natural repulsion to the Fairy-type energy.

After a brief conversation with his Pokémon, Sycamore confird the obvious: the move Moonblast was highly effective against Dragon-type Pokémon.

At this point, nearly everyone present accepted that the Fairy type was a new reality. The introduction of new moves, their unique properties, and how they affected existing Pokémon were enough proof.

"Cain, do you have more Fairy-type moves we can observe?" asked Professor Oak.

Cain nodded and asked Florges to demonstrate other moves, including: Disarming Voice, Flower Shield, and Fairy Wind.

The reaction from the group was unanimous. The existence of the Fairy type was now nearly unquestionable. It was evident that this new type would bring about a radical change in the balance of battles.

The looks directed at Cain were a mix of awe and admiration. He was young, but he had accomplished what no older researcher had: identifying a new type. This filled so with pride but also sparked a slight sense of embarrassnt in others.

anwhile, mbers of the Kalos League looked enviously at President Juan, who watched the scene with the calst expression. The Hoenn region had gained a significant advantage with talents like Cain and Steven.

Before concluding, Cain ntioned other details about the Fairy type, including its effectiveness against Dark and Fighting types. While the most significant impact would be on Dragon-type Pokémon, the other types would also be affected.

Finally, a voice without a visible projection spoke. Everyone grew serious upon hearing it.

"Cain, you’ve done very well. The Alliance needs people like you. Don’t fear retaliation; your contributions will be recognized. This new type, Fairy, will carry your na. The final details will be announced soon. This eting is adjourned."

After those words, the holograms began to disappear. Each leader returned to their tasks, aware of the impact this new information would have on the world of Pokémon.

The Fairy type... was ready to change everything.
