While Cain sat in place, lost in thought for about thirty minutes, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.
"Beep! System update complete. The system is being restored. Please wait patiently..."
It was a chanical voice.
Cain imdiately straightened up.
Finally! The update was complete!
He had waited a long ti for this, and the system was finally ready. He remained seated, waiting patiently for the main system to finish its restoration.
He couldn’t help but wonder what improvents had been made in this new update.
After waiting about ten minutes, the system’s voice rang out again.
"System restoration complete. All system functions have been restored and are now available. Thank you for your patience, user."
The system’s voice was still chanical, but this ti it sounded less rigid. Cain couldn’t help but wonder if the system had learned sothing from its ti interacting with Porygon.
"System, explain to the improvents made in this update," Cain asked, full of curiosity and anticipation.
In response, the system projected a virtual screen in front of him, displaying in detail the changes introduced with the update.
From the very first glance at the screen, Cain could feel a clear difference.
Although the system had always had a technological design, it previously gave the impression of being sowhat outdated, like computer monitors from the 1980s or 1990s. Now, it seed to have made a qualitative leap, reaching a 21st-century level of design.
Of course, this was just a taphor. It had never actually been that rudintary, but the improvent was evident.
Cain set aside these superficial details and focused on the functional upgrades listed on the screen.
The first and most important point was that the system had managed to establish a fully independent subsystem capable of autonomous communication.
This ant that as long as Cain was in a normal environnt (i.e., not in ruins or alternate spaces), the main system could connect to the subsystem at any ti.
Currently, this subsystem was installed in Porygon’s body.
Originally, Porygon was simply a set of data, but now that data was linked to the subsystem, which was entirely under the control of the main system. Cain could destroy the subsystem at any ti, and if he did, Porygon would cease to exist.
With this change, Porygon had reached exactly the state Cain had hoped for: a balance between autonomy and complete trust. This also ant he could now fully entrust certain tasks to his Pokémon, which would also accelerate their developnt.
"If I could get a teleportation device, it’d be perfect..." Cain thought for a mont, but decided to set that idea aside for now and focus on the other improvents.
The second change was a significant increase in the system’s data processing capacity.
If previously the system had been like a dual-core computer, it had now beco a quad-core. This ant it could process information much faster and more efficiently.
He would no longer have issues with lag or crashes due to data overload. Cain knew this would be crucial for future missions, especially when he gained access to data related to Team Rocket’s genetic research experints.
The third change was related to the system’s discretion when scanning Pokémon data.
Now, the system could analyze information much more stealthily, which would prevent situations like the ti it was detected by Azelf. Unless the target Pokémon had a power level much higher than Azelf’s, there would be no issues.
Although this change didn’t seem crucial, it was a useful improvent in certain circumstances.
The fourth point in the update was an expansion of the system’s scanning range.
Previously, Cain had to be in physical contact with a Pokémon to obtain complete details about it. Now, he could gather basic information on any Pokémon within a considerable distance, although direct contact was still required for a thorough analysis.
The fifth change was directly related to the system’s general detection range.
The scanning reach had increased significantly. Before, he had to be relatively close to analyze data like level, abilities, traits, and quality of a Pokémon. Now, he could do so from up to a hundred ters away.
Lastly, the sixth change was a new function called "Battle Simulation."
This function allowed the system to predict how a Pokémon would fight based on its information, abilities, and characteristics. The more information the system had about the Pokémon and its trainer, the more accurate the simulation would be.
However, Cain imdiately understood the risk of this new power. If he relied too much on the simulation function, he might grow lazy and lose his natural ability to analyze and battle. Therefore, he decided to use this function sparingly.
Instead of relying completely on the system, he planned to use it as a learning tool, gradually integrating his opponents’ strategies and abilities into his own battle style.
After reviewing all the improvents, Cain was quite satisfied with the outco. Although there wasn’t a single feature that could be considered revolutionary, the system as a whole was now much more robust and efficient.
"If the system has already completed its update, then Porygon should be awake too," Cain thought, pulling out the Poké Ball he had stored it in.
Since Porygon was essentially data, it didn’t need food to survive. However, giving it Pokéblocks could accelerate its developnt.
Cain pulled out the Luxury Ball he kept in his pocket and looked at Porygon through the small window.
Porygon’s eyes locked onto Cain with full attention.
With a smile, Cain said, "System, switch view to Porygon mode."
He was curious to see how the world looked from his Pokémon’s perspective, and this seed like the perfect opportunity to try it out.
