Now reading: Chapter 824: Main Attacker? from Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom (Re-Upload), a Fantasy novel by GoldenDragonKing.

Slowking dispersed his psychic power into the air, filling the space around him with a palpable energy that emanated from his body. These energies, though spread out, remained under his control, further increasing his explosive power in battle.

Dark energy spheres began to form around Slowking, condensed with his psychic power. Without pausing for a second, these spheres shot directly toward the enemy Pokémon.

Drapion led the charge, rushing forward with unstoppable force. Two Breloom tried to block his advance using their combined strength. However, far from being intimidated, Drapion seed even more excited. His pincers began to blaze with fire, completely enveloped.

It was the move Fire Fang, which Drapion had mastered perfectly.

With a couple of clean strikes, the two Breloom were completely overwheld. Both showed expressions of disbelief, unable to stop Drapion, who effortlessly trapped them both—one in each pincer—and slamd them violently against the wall.

Suspended in the air, the Breloom were helpless. Drapion, eyes gleaming with excitent, tilted his tail forward. At the tip, a concentrated ball of toxic energy ford, so intense it looked like a drop of poison was about to fall.

With a swift and forceful motion, Drapion used the moves Fire Fang and Poison Tail on one of the Breloom. The combination of strength, energy, and type advantage was devastating, knocking it out instantly.

From high above the hall, Honchkrow let out a sharp cry. His body was covered in a layer of bluish flas, forming the figure of a bird around him.

It was the move Sky Attack. Wasting no ti, he dove at a Hariyama who was trying to rescue the Breloom, taking him down before he could interfere with Drapion.

Noticing this, Drapion turned his head toward the Hariyama, but just then he saw an Exploud approaching with its mouth wide open, ready to unleash a sound-based attack.

However, before it could act, a black shadow moved quickly—Weavile appeared. With a precise blow, it used Ice Punch, freezing Exploud’s mouth and stopping its attack.

Drapion released the second Breloom, but before it could hit the ground, his tail moved with speed and accuracy, pinning it against the wall. It was the move Fell Stinger, a move Drapion had learned during the Sinnoh Tournant.

This move doubled in power if it knocked out the opponent, and Drapion had executed it masterfully. Without even looking back, Drapion finished off the Breloom with Venoshock, ensuring it wouldn’t get back up.

anwhile, a Manectric had fixed its attention on Honchkrow, but before it could attack, a shadowy figure erged from the darkness—Gengar. With a wicked grin, Gengar landed a Shadow Punch straight to Manectric’s face, sending it flying.

Not giving it ti to recover, Gengar reappeared in front of it, his eyes glowing with a hypnotic light. Manectric, caught in his gaze, fell into a deep sleep. Gengar began to use Dream Eater, feeding on the enemy Pokémon’s dreams while weakening it even further.

On another front, the two Swalot, who seed to be the strongest Pokémon on the enemy team, had already been neutralized by Slowking. The move Psychic targeted them, exploiting their weakness to psychic-type moves.

Although the two Swalot tried to resist, their lack of regular training and battles had weakened them. Just enduring Slowking’s attacks was a monuntal task for them.

In the midst of the chaos, a Slaking lay on the ground, yawning indifferently. Though Robert was giving desperate orders, Slaking didn’t seem in any rush to act.

Finally, with a lazy attitude, it stood up and locked eyes on Drapion, the only Pokémon without a direct opponent.

Suddenly, Slaking’s eyes lit up with determination. It had been storing energy the entire battle, and now it was ready to release it.

With a mighty leap, Slaking lunged at Drapion, shattering the floor tiles beneath its feet. Drapion, noticing the attack, smiled eagerly. He took a defensive stance, ready to asure strength with Slaking.

The clash was spectacular. Drapion’s pincers t Slaking’s arms, generating a shockwave that made the ground tremble. Even the cent cracked beneath them, creating a crater at the site of their battle. Both seed evenly matched in strength.

Robert watched in awe. He had placed great hopes in Slaking, feeding and caring for it throughout its developnt. Though Slaking had diocre potential, training it to a Quasi-Elite level had been a monuntal task.

Now, seeing it stand up to Drapion with such strength filled him with pride.

Cain also watched the fight. He knew better than anyone the strength of Drapion and was surprised that Slaking could match it. This sparked his interest in the Slakoth groups that inhabited the nearby mountains.

However, Slaking’s nature ultimately prevailed. Although its burst of energy had been impressive, its laziness caught up to it. At the crucial mont, it dropped its guard, allowing Drapion to catch it.

With a swift move, Drapion threw it against a wall, bringing it down. Slaking was buried under the rubble, too lazy to try to free itself.

The rest of the enemy Pokémon also fell one by one. Honchkrow, Gengar, Weavile, and Slowking worked together to finish off the remaining opponents.

In these types of battles, where the number of enemies was high, Honchkrow’s Moxie ability proved extrely useful. Gengar, taking advantage of the situation, moved between the weakened enemies, making sure he landed the finishing blow.

In the end, Gengar beca the main collector of "heads." Although the other Pokémon didn’t complain, it was clear Gengar enjoyed the role.

Isn’t it the main attacker’s job to land the decisive blows?

Slowking: Main attacker?

Drapion: ?
