Now reading: Chapter 94: The Sun Dog from Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom (Re-Upload), a Fantasy novel by GoldenDragonKing.

Unlike Star Hunters, those bearing the sun badge not only have to complete their missions and sell Pokémon but must also take on certain obligations.

The Hunters Guild has the right to summon them to fight for the guild's cause, which is why these individuals are often considered direct mbers of the guild. Star hunters secretly refer to them as: "Sun Dogs."

The nickna "Sun Dogs" refers to the henchn with the sun badge from the Hunters Guild.

However, all of them are incredibly powerful, and the minimum requirent to bear the sun badge is the level of a quasi-elite trainer.

When Cain entered the hall accompanied by Rose, his presence drew so attention, but soon everyone returned to their own business.

A man wearing the sun badge, who had been sitting on a sofa with a cold deanor, perked up upon seeing Rose enter. With a smile that tried to appear friendly, he quickly stood up and approached, saying, "Rose, what are you doing here?"

When she saw this man, nad Logan, approaching, Rose frowned, dropping her seductive deanor and showing an air of coldness. "What does it matter to you what I'm doing here? Logan, why are you always wherever I am?"

Logan, with his sun badge, ignored Rose's biting words and replied with a smile, "Well, when I heard you were transferred here as the shop manager, I asked the guild to transfer too."

Rose was used to Logan following her everywhere, knowing that he ca from an influential family and had been pursuing her for a long ti.

To avoid him, she had even accepted the position as manager of a small shop in Saffron City's black market, but even so, he had followed her there.

Deciding not to continue the conversation, Rose ignored Logan and headed to the counter, with Cain silently following behind her.

Logan, noticing Cain's presence, stopped smiling and frowned, asking, "And who's this?"

While looking at herself in a mirror and applying a bit more lipstick, Rose replied without looking at Logan, "Just a rookie, I brought him to register."

With Rose's position, she didn't need to personally accompany anyone to register as a hunter. However, at that mont, she was the only one in the shop, and Cain had sohow made a good impression on her.

Sotis, luck just strikes.

Cain did not intervene in the conversation between the two and approached the counter to speak to the attendant: "Please register as a hunter."

Logan, seeing that Cain was just a rookie, understood that it was simply one of Rose's daily duties. However, like any suitor, he felt a natural aversion to any other man near the woman he desired, so he decided to show his authority.

"If you're new, be careful out there. The outside world can be very 'dangerous'," Logan comnted, seemingly offering helpful advice but with a tone that hinted at a threat.

Despite Logan's words, Cain remained silent, not letting himself be provoked.

When one lacks sufficient strength, it's better to keep a low profile.

Rose, noticing that everyone's attention in the room was beginning to focus on them, decided to intervene to prevent Logan from causing further trouble. "Logan, that's enough. Rember you have work to do."

Logan, sowhat annoyed by the interruption, shouted to those present: "What are you looking at? Get back to your business!"

Hearing Logan's command, the people stopped paying attention to them, and he, after observing Cain for a mont, returned to his seat and sat down, drumming his fingers on the table as if pondering sothing.

Finally, the counter attendant, feeling more at ease now that Logan had stepped away, asked in a low voice, "Do you wish to register as a Pokémon hunter?"

Cain nodded.

With Cain's confirmation, the attendant, relieved that there had been no issues with soone who could ignore Logan, adopted a more professional attitude.

Registering as a hunter in the Hunters Guild didn't hold much value at the lower levels, but as one advanced in rank, the advantages beca more apparent. Only those with a sufficient rank could accept high-level missions, which offered substantial rewards.

Additionally, high-ranking hunters received discounts when purchasing Pokémon, which was also a useful benefit.

"Alright, what will your hunter na be?" the attendant asked, following protocol.

Most hunters don't use their real na, as being a Pokémon hunter is not a profession accepted by the Alliance, and many of them lead a double life.

After thinking for a mont, Cain replied, "JOKER."

That had been his hunter na in his previous life, and he saw no need to change it in this new opportunity.

The attendant didn't seem surprised by the na. He registered the na in the system, clicked a few buttons, and an erald green card erged from the machine.

"This is your hunter card. It will record your completed missions and success rate. It also serves to store guild points. Whenever you accept a mission, you will need this card," the attendant explained, handing the card to Cain.

Cain took it, noting that it was still a bit warm. He was now officially a registered hunter in the Hunters Guild, albeit with a zero-star rank.

"Alright, your registration is complete. I must go as well," Rose said without looking up as she painted her nails, then left without further farewells.

Cain simply nodded silently, watching Rose walk away.
