The Psychic-type energy around her body began to grow wildly unstable.
Her surging psychic power resonated with w's.
It was continuously slamming against the connection between w and Genjo.
Gardevoir's gaze turned unfocused.
The Psychic-type energy surging up around her
grew more and more imnse and vast.
It had already completely surpassed the amount of energy an ordinary quasi-Elite Four-level Pokémon could possess.
It had even exceeded the energy of an Elite Four-level Pokémon!
"Gardevoir!?"
Hiko cried out in alarm,
trying to snap Gardevoir back to her senses.
But Gardevoir's eyes were vacant.
Her hands moved irregularly,
controlling Psychic-type energy as it relentlessly crashed into w.
The expressions on w's and Genjo's faces were perfectly synchronized.
One human and one Pokémon,
both revealing looks of agony.
Thanks to that,
the ministers from the Military and those top-tier Elite Four-level Trainers
finally got a brief chance to catch their breath.
w's strange state of synchronization
naturally drew everyone's attention.
Very quickly,
the crowd noticed Hiko and Gardevoir among the masses.
The striking aura of Psychic-type energy
made everyone understand at once.
w falling into such a strange state
was very likely related to this Pokémon in front of them.

The terrifying fluctuations made hearts tremble.
The number of fallen elites and Trainers on both sides began increasing at a geotric rate.
Everyone was stretched to the limit.
All eyes were fixed on Gardevoir.
Whether they could succeed or not
now depended entirely on her!
Hiko looked at Gardevoir,
a trace of worry and anxiety flowing through her eyes.
Gardevoir had already lost consciousness.
It looked
as though she had fallen under w's control.
Most likely because she possessed w's genes,
Gardevoir was able, at this mont,
to erupt with incomparably powerful Psychic-type energy fluctuations.
And w,
in all likelihood, had sensed that as well
and wanted Gardevoir to help him break free of Genjo's control.
The tug-of-war between both sides continued.
Psychic-type energy and Genjo's enhanced spiritual power clashed madly, pulling and colliding against each other.
On the faces of the human and the two Pokémon,
painful, conflicted expressions appeared.
"Gahhh!!"
After half a minute of deadlock,
Genjo let out an enraged roar.
Under the horrified gazes of everyone present,
visible and drastic changes began to appear on his body.
Large patches of deep black
spread outward from the arms beneath his shirt.
His fingertips turned pitch-black,
and at the sa ti,
rings of black lines
coiled and crept up around his neck.
Even the whites of his eyes were stained black.
His whole body now looked deeply sinister.
His roar sent out rippling soundwaves.
Genjo's spiritual power
suddenly surged by a massive margin.
In an instant, the stalemate was broken.
That tyrannical spiritual force slowly pushed back Gardevoir's Psychic-type energy
and once more seized control over w.
"I never expected you to have hidden a move like this…"
What made it all the more chilling and bizarre
was that the one speaking was not Genjo,
but w.
This Second-tier Legendary moved his mouth as he spoke.
This was bad!
Seeing this,
the faces of the Elite Fours and Military ministers present darkened to the extre.
The tiny bit of joy and hope that had just begun to rise
was blasted away without a trace.
This was no longer just complete control.
The consciousness of Genjo and w
had now fully entered a state of sharing.
He was w!
w was him!
Damn it!
How exactly had this bastard reached this stage?!
And what exactly was that vast blackness coiling around his body?
That dense, pure aura of darkness
was actually able to suppress the energy and consciousness of a Second-tier Legendary!?
What in the world had happened to Genjo?
"Die!!"
Genjo slowly raised a hand.
His voice was icy cold, like a machine devoid of emotion.
w's actions mirrored his exactly.
The little pink hand lifted high
and pointed toward Gardevoir.
Whoosh!!!
A pink beam of energy tore through space,
closing in on Gardevoir in the blink of an eye.
The terrifying attack arrived too fast.
Neither Hiko nor Gardevoir had ti to react.
Boom!!
At the very last mont,
one of the Military's quasi-Elite Four-level elite Trainers
sidestepped across,
bringing his Pokémon, Golduck, to block the beam's path.
A violent explosion rang out.
Pink smoke clouds burst apart.
The energy beam blasted an enormous hole through the chests of both Trainer and Pokémon.
At the wound,
pink Psychic-type energy still flickered and churned.
"Tch!"
A look of disgust appeared on Genjo's face.
With the slightest lift of his finger,
w fired another beam of energy.
Whoosh!!
Whoosh!!
Whoosh!!
w's fingertip jabbed repeatedly,
sending several extrely condensed pink energy beams shooting out.
Against an attack like this,
even if more people ca to block it, they would never hold.
And sure enough,
after the terrifying beams pierced through several more people and Pokémon,
they ca screaming toward Hiko and Gardevoir.
That horrifying wave of power rushing straight at them,
along with the despair and aura of death that made the heart shudder,
made Hiko feel as though, in that instant,
she had returned to the mont she fell in her previous life.
That feeling of helplessness and weakness
once again flooded her heart.
After being given a second life,
had she still failed to change anything in the end?
She whispered softly to herself in her heart.
Her eyes grew hot,
and the scene before her began to blur.
The figure of GeoGreymon surfaced in her mind for no reason.
At that mont,
she longed more than anything for Shiko to appear,
yearning for the overwhelming sense of safety he always gave her.
But then,
Hiko suddenly ca to her senses.
Shiko, as he was now, even with Champion-level strength,
still wouldn't be enough in front of a Second-tier Legendary!

If there's a chance,
then I hope in the next life, I can still be your Trainer.
In despair, she closed her eyes.
As Hiko's tears fell,
a string of scenes from the past replayed in her mind like a slow-motion film.
Then,
with a bitter, beautiful smile,
she closed her eyes and prepared to welco her end.
