High above the chaotic battlefield, separated by the massive, translucent black barrier, Seth Williams looked down at the island. Through the distortion of the spatial lock, he could see the explosions of fire, the flashes of electricity, and the dark domains erupting across his estate.
"Things are heating up down there," Seth said, a faint smile forming on his lips.
He wasn't looking at the destruction of his ho. He was looking at the resilience of the prodigies.
"You have a rather disturbing habit of looking away from your executioners, Williams," the Red Knight's tallic voice grated.
Seth slowly turned his gaze back to his imdiate surroundings.
Floating in the sky, completely encircling his lone Salance, was a terrifying lineup of war-trained Pokémon. The Red Knight and his two generals had summoned their primary vanguard.
Nine Pokémon in total.
Five of them radiated the dense, oppressive energy of Peak King-level beasts.
The other four... were Pseudo-Champions.
The Red Knight himself was no re commander. He was the reigning envoy of the Ancient Kingdom, a monster who boasted genuine Elite 4 level strength. The sheer, combined pressure of his team was enough to make the air within the barrier visibly distort and crackle with raw friction.
"Tell ," the Red Knight said, raising a heavily armored hand. "Why aren't you sending out any of your other Pokémon?"
Seth brushed a stray lock of red and white hair from his eyes. His suit rippled in the wind.
"I still don't feel the need."
The Red Knight's eyes narrowed behind his horned helm. "Insolent fool. Annihilate him!"
The nine titanic Pokémon lunged simultaneously. Hyper Beams, Dragon Pulses, and Giga Impacts tore through the sky, converging on the lone Salance from every conceivable angle. It was a flawless, unavoidable death trap.
Seth didn't even blink.
"Salance. Draco teor."
Pokémon moves were divided into four levels of mastery: Basic, Interdiate, Expert, and Master.
For a move with such apocalyptic destructive power as Draco teor, simply reaching the Expert level was the pinnacle for most Elite trainers. The move was notorious for its devastating recoil, drastically draining the user's internal energy after a single use. The teors themselves were also untargeted, falling as a chaotic, randomized shower of destruction.
But Seth's Salance had reached the Master level.
To completely master a move ant eradicating its flaws entirely.
Salance roared, a sound that shook the very foundations of the spatial barrier. A sphere of pure, blinding orange draconian energy shot into the sky above them, expanding rapidly before detonating.
The sky fractured.
Hundreds of massive, burning teors rained down. But they didn't fall randomly.
Under the absolute, Master-level control of Salance, every single teor stopped in mid-air for a fraction of a second. Then, acting like homing missiles, they curved sharply, violently altering their trajectories to lock onto the nine incoming targets.
"What?!" The Red Knight gasped, his composure shattering.
BOOOOM!
The explosions linked together in a continuous, deafening chain of destruction. The homing teors collided with the opposing attacks, effortlessly drilling through the Hyper Beams and Dragon Pulses before slamming directly into the Ancient Kingdom's vanguard.
When the blinding light faded, the sky was filled with falling bodies.
Three Peak King-level Pokémon, a Noivern, an Aerodactyl, and a Honchkrow, were completely incinerated, their scorched bodies plumting toward the ocean below.
Even worse, one of the Pseudo-Champions, a terrifyingly bulky Dragonite, had taken a concentrated cluster of six teors to the chest. Its scales shattered, and it too fell, completely and utterly obliterated in a single strike.
One move. Four absolute powerhouses were taken out instantly.
If the Red Knight wasn't wearing a helt, you would see his jaw dropping in shock.
"Master-level... Draco teor..." one of the generals stamred, his hands shaking violently.
Seth remained standing on Salance's back, completely untouched. The draconian aura around his partner only seed to grow denser, hungrier.
"What's wrong? Are you done already." Seth said with a smile on his face, but his eyes weren't smiling. They were filled with murderous intent.
Down on the island, the geography of the Williams estate was being violently rewritten.
Lush botanical gardens were reduced to wastelands. Pristine, marble-floored battlefields were lted into pools of bubbling slag. The clashes between the Elite and Pseudo-Elite trainers on both sides were reshaping the very earth.
The League's forces and the aristocratic bodyguards were fighting with everything they had, but they were severely disadvantaged. They had to worry about the safety of the young prodigies. The Ancient Kingdom, however, had no such restrictions.
But hope was not lost.
The league, and the families of the heirs had already been notified. Reinforcents were on the way; they just had to hold on.
In the ruined remains of the garden maze, the situation was still incredibly dire.
Red and Green stood back-to-back, their breathing ragged. Venusaur's flower was drooping slightly, and Charizard's scales were covered in deep, jagged cuts from Electivire's Thunder Punches.
The Advanced-level commander was relentless. Despite losing his Rhyperior to a combined assault, his Electivire and Magmortar still had a lot of fight left in them.
"Give up, children," the commander wheezed, clutching a bleeding wound on his arm. "Your stamina is failing. You cannot bridge the gap in pure energy reserves."
Green bit her lip. She hated to admit it, but he was right. Venusaur was running on fus.
But Red didn't step back.
He pulled the brim of his cap down, completely obscuring his eyes. The quiet, calm deanor of the Pallet Town prodigy vanished, replaced by an intense, hyper-focused state that almost felt supernatural.
A fire had ignited in Red's chest. An absolute, unwavering refusal to lose.
And Charizard felt it.
ROOOOAR!
The fla on Charizard's tail burned brighter. Both he and Red were in complete sync as he resonated with Red's intense battle spirit, pushing Charizard to slowly break his limits.
Red pointed forward. "Charizard, Flare Blitz."
Green didn't hesitate. She perfectly synchronized with Red's battle sense. "Saur, you heard him! Tear the ground up!"
Venusaur slamd its front legs down. Massive, thick roots erupted from the earth, not aiming to strike the opponents, but violently churning the ground beneath Electivire and Magmortar, completely destroying their balance. This was an inferior version of Frenzy Plant.
Charizard capitalized on the opening instantly. surrounded by a fierce inferno, he moved with a speed that defied his heavy fra.
The commander's eyes widened. "Dodge it!"
It was too late. Charizard slamd into Electivire, the sheer force shattering the electric-type's guard and sending it crashing through a line of thick oak trees. Without losing montum, Charizard spun, using his heavy, fla-wreathed tail to deliver a devastating Dragon Tail directly to Magmortar's chest.
CRASH!
"Saur, Solar Beam! Finish them!"
"Keep going Charizard, Fire Blast!"
Venasaur fired a massive beam of energy, While Charizard spit out a blast of fire that took the '大' shape.
Both of the peak Advanced-level Pokémon were hit and collapsed, completely unconscious.
The commander grunted, preparing to release more of his Pokémon. But realising Red and Green both had other Pokémon left that they hadn't used yet, he shifted his hand on another Poke Ball than the one he was just about to use. From it, a Kadabra showed up.
"Kadabra, Teleport!"
"Hey, stop right there! You made work so much, at least let rob you!" Green shouted, but he was already gone.
Red exhaled slowly, the intense fire in his eyes settling as Charizard stood victorious, letting out a roar that echoed across the estate.
"Well," a cocky voice called out from the broken hedges. "Looks like you didn't need my help after all."
Blue Oak casually walked into the clearing. Behind him, the massive, armor-plated Tyranitar stomped forward, letting out a low, rumbling growl. The blood and shattered rock dust on its claws made it perfectly clear what had happened to the commander's Steelix and Garchomp.
"You handled them?" Red asked, tossing a Potion to Charizard.
"Please. Pseudo-Kings or not, they were poorly trained," Blue scoffed, returning Tyranitar to its Ultra Ball. "But we can't stay here. The whole island is a warzone."
"Then why the hell did you recall the Godzilla?" Green snapped, wiping sweat from her forehead. "We could use that thing to clear a path!"
Blue smirked, holding up the Ultra Ball. "Tyranitar's Sand Stream doesn't discriminate between friend and foe. He isn't my Pokémon, so I can't control it well. In a chaotic battlefield with you guys running around, I'd end up knocking out your Pokémon just as fast as the enemy's. I work better alone when I'm using this guy."
He turned away, adjusting his jacket. "I'll take the western flank. I saw so League officers struggling that way. You two handle the center."
Red nodded. "Don't get careless, Blue."
"Worry about yourself, Red," Blue called over his shoulder, already breaking into a sprint.
Green sighed, looking at Red. "Well, looks like it's just you and , cutie pie. Protect if things get dangerous :p."
Red lowered his cap as he unclasped another Poké Ball from his belt.
"Let's go."
