"Rain Dance!"
Both trainers shouted simultaneously.
The battle erupted with full intensity before the referee's hand could even drop. Red's Charizard threw back his head and unleashed a brilliant, blinding sphere of solar energy into the sky. Simultaneously, Blue's Blastoise slamd his massive feet into the ground, his twin steel cannons pointing upward as a heavy, dark vortex of storm clouds rapidly gathered over his half of the field.
For a mont, the stadium's sky was split completely down the middle.
One half burned with a harsh, glaring sunlight, while the other was cast in a dark, torrential downpour. The sheer friction between the opposing weather domains created a violent, hissing wall of steam where the heat t the cold rain. Both Advanced-level Pokémon poured their massive energy reserves into their respective moves, fighting to claim supremacy over the environnt.
Ultimately, the opposing energies clashed so violently that they cancelled each other out. The clouds dispersed, the blinding sun faded, and the weather returned to a neutral state.
Neither side held the domain advantage.
"Now, use Flathrower!" Red commanded.
"Hydro Pump, blow it away!" Blue barked.
With the weather settled, the physical clash began. Charizard beat his massive wings, taking off into the air to secure the aerial advantage. He unleashed a raging stream of fire from his jaws. But Blastoise stood firm, siphoning his water-type energy into a monstrous dual Hydro Pump.
The two high-level attacks collided in the center of the field. The water evaporated into thick steam upon contact with the intense flas, filling the stadium with a dense fog.
Utilizing his flight, Charizard dove through the steam like a falling arrow, his claws cloaked in a sharp, green draconian energy.
"Dragon Claw!" Red shouted.
"Withdraw and use Water Rapid Spin!" Blue countered smoothly.
Blastoise pulled his head and limbs into his heavy shell, spinning at a dizzying speed, surrounded by water, just as Charizard's claws struck. The rotation deflected the brunt of the Dragon Claw, and the spinning shell slamd into Charizard's chest, knocking him back.
Despite Blastoise holding the elental type advantage, Charizard's superior mobility and speed kept the match incredibly even. The battle was a brutal showcase of strategic maneuvers. Charizard used his wings to dodge high-pressure water columns, carving through the air to land precise, wind-infused Air Slashes. anwhile, Blastoise utilized his imnse bulk and defensive capabilities to tank the hits, countering with powerful, close-range Water Pulses and heavy Skull Bashes.
Both Pokémon were soon covered in bruises and scorch marks, their breathing ragged as they reached their absolute limits.
"Let's end this, partner!" Red shouted, his cap tilted back. "Flare Blitz!"
"et it head-on! Skull Bash!" Blue roared.
Charizard cloaked himself in a raging shroud of blue-hot flas, charging down from the sky like a teor. Blastoise braced himself, tucking his head as a dense, protective white energy surrounded his massive body before he launched himself forward.
The two juggernauts collided in the center of the stadium with a deafening explosion.
BOOM!
A shockwave swept across the stands, forcing many of the spectators to shield their eyes. A massive cloud of thick steam and dust enveloped the field, obscuring the result.
When the vapor finally cleared, the crowd gasped.
Both Charizard and Blastoise lay flat on the ground, completely unconscious.
"Both Pokémon are unable to battle! The match is a draw!" the referee announced, his voice cracking slightly under the tension.
For a long mont, there was a pin-drop silence in the stadium. The young master who had been loudly mocking Red earlier stared at the field, his mouth hanging open in sheer disbelief. The incredible display of raw strength and tactical genius from both trainers had completely shut up any doubters. Red, despite his humble background, had proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he belonged at the very top.
Red and Blue recalled their starters, both grumbling slightly but wearing competitive, respectful smirks.
"That makes it exactly two wins, two losses, and two ties each," Blue said as he smirked.
Red just nodded as he adjusted his cap.
As they left the field, Green walked up to them and complinted them playfully.
Alister, on the side, was seething. The two of them have completely usurped him in star power. Now everyone was talking about them instead of him, which was unacceptable. His gaze then fell on Belle, which irritated him even further.
"Hmph! Let's go Sebastian." He turned around and walked away, his cape flying in the air.
"That was so cool, wasn't it, Vice Captain Sparkles?" Belle chirped, happily finishing her ice cream.
Eric was silent as he digested what he saw.
'Looks like there is still quite a gap between us.'
"Eric."
A soft, cool voice spoke beside him. Eric turned his head to look at the caller, Iris.
Her blue eyes were locked onto him, burning with an intense, quiet competitive fire that he hadn't seen in her before. Her hand was already resting lightly on the Poké Ball at her waist.
"Let's battle," Iris said, her tone steady and resolute.
