This technique was incredibly powerful, but the requirents to use it were equally harsh.
First was the nature of the energy itself. Among all elental types, Electric energy was known for its astonishing destructive power, but it was also notoriously unstable and difficult to control. To force such volatile energy to obediently coat the surface of the body required an incredibly high level of control.
Furthermore, coating one's body in electricity ca with risks. Even for an Electric-type Pokémon, being wrapped in raw voltage would inevitably cause self-inflicted damage.
To pull this off, a Pokémon either needed the sheer grit of Ash's Swellow—who once tanked a Thunder attack through pure willpower—or they needed an Ability like Motor Drive or Lightning Rod that granted immunity to Electric-type damage.
"Elec-bzzzzzt!!!"
Feeling the explosive surge of power, Electivire clenched its fist abruptly. Electricity detonated from its palm. Then, its legs stomped the ground, launching it straight toward Volcarona in the sky like a rocket.
Thunder Punch!
But not just a standard strike—it was a combo move fused with Quick Attack.
Facing the charging electric beast, Volcarona unleashed its signature move once again: Fiery Dance.
Waves of flas rolled forward, but Electivire, protected by its Thunder Armor, had no intention of dodging. It tore a hole straight through the scorching curtain of the Fiery Dance, tanking the heat and appearing right in front of the moth.
Electivire raised its fist high and hamred it down.
Just as the fist was about to make contact, a pale green barrier materialized in front of Volcarona.
Protect!
BOOM!!!
A muffled thud resonated through the arena. The Protect barrier trembled violently, nearly shattering on impact.
Seizing the split second that the barrier held Electivire back, Volcarona attempted to retreat and create distance.
But before the moth could move, the two black tails on Electivire's back—resembling heavy power cables—snaked around the edges of the Protect shield. They lashed out from the left and right, binding Volcarona tight and locking it in place.
"Kiii..."
As the tails tightened, Volcarona began to struggle, its entire body erupting in blazing flas.
To counter the intense heat, the voltage coursing through Electivire's tails surged even higher.
Thunder and Fire.
Lightning and Fla.
Two distinct elents, both known for their explosive power, clashed violently in mid-air.
But the victor of this elental struggle was decided quickly.
BANG!!
With another heavy punch, the Protect barrier in front of Volcarona shattered completely.
Electivire grabbed Volcarona with both hands and reared its head back.
"Elec-bzzzt!!!"
Headbutt!
THUD!!!
Electivire slamd its forehead squarely into Volcarona. The Sun Pokémon let out a wail of pain.
Releasing its grip, Electivire followed up with one final punch, sending the moth flying across the arena.
BOOM!
Volcarona crashed heavily into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
As the smoke cleared, Volcarona lay motionless on the battlefield. Its pale blue eyes had gone dark. It was out cold.
"Volcarona is unable to battle! Electivire wins the round!"
"Return, Volcarona." Zephyr raised his hand, recalling the fallen Pokémon to its Poké Ball.
His expression remained focused. "Go! Torterra!"
The Continent Pokémon hit the field for the second ti.
"Torrr-terra!"
Torterra let out a deep bellow.
Electivire growled in response. A faint glow surrounded it—thanks to the equipped item Hand of Justice, a portion of the damage it had just dealt was converted into healing energy, replenishing the stamina it had spent during the clash.
Facing a Ground-type like Torterra, Electivire dissipated the Thunder Armor, as Electric moves would be useless. Instead, its fists ignited with raging flas as it charged forward.
Fire Punch!
Just as Electivire rushed in, Torterra let out a strange, taunting roar.
Hearing the noise, Electivire's face twisted into sudden rage.
Swagger!
The move enraged the opponent, confusing them, but simultaneously raising their Attack stat sharply.
BAM!!!
Electivire's Fire Punch connected solidly with Torterra's head.
However, Torterra had instinctively retracted its head into its shell a split second before impact.
But due to the Attack boost from Swagger, Electivire's strike was terrifyingly heavy. One punch launched the massive, heavy turtle several ters backward.
"Torrr!!!"
Torterra let out a pained cry as its bulky fra rolled twice across the ground. When it finally ca to a stop and poked its head out of its shell, its eyes were spinning in spirals.
"Torterra is unable to battle! Electivire wins!"
