A giant "Fire" (大) kanji made of flas instantly blocked Arbok's path.

Kenji's eyes lit up. With a thought, he activated the icon for the [Glass Cannon] Hex Core in his mind!
[Glass Cannon]: Sacrifice 10% of current HP to gain a 25% damage boost to all moves!
Unlike in the ga, the System's modified version of Glass Cannon wasn't an automatic start-of-battle trigger; it was an active skill Kenji could choose when to use.

On the field, Arbok's HP instantly dropped by 10%. But in exchange, the dragon phantom surrounding it beca denser, more solid, and its aura grew terrifyingly powerful.

With a thunderous explosion, Arbok tore a hole right through the massive kanji of fire.
Simultaneously, a faint, dark purple mist erupted from Arbok's body.
Edge of Night triggered! (Brief invulnerability/shield when HP drops below a threshold).
Having used most of its montum to break the Fire Blast, the Dragon Rush lost much of its power.
So, Arbok abandoned the rush. It whipped its long body around and coiled tightly around Volcarona.
Wrap (Bind)!!!
As Arbok began to squeeze, Volcarona wasn't about to just sit there and die. It reignited its Flare Blitz, turning its body into a furnace.
It tried to use the intense heat and its own strength to break Arbok's grip.
But Arbok had lost its mind to Outrage. The searing pain from Volcarona's flas didn't make it flinch; instead, it only fueled its aggression.
In the next second, Arbok bit down hard. Poison Fang!!!
At this mont, the invulnerability effect of Edge of Night was still active.
Simultaneously, Arbok's body writhed violently. Scales shot off its skin, turning into sharp blades that stabbed into the Volcarona trapped in its coils.

Volcarona let out a pained shriek. Hua Mingyan was shocked by Arbok's insane fighting style.
At such close range, even if each individual scale didn't do much damage, the sheer quantity was overwhelming.
Quantity has a quality all its own. Eventually, so scales pierced through Volcarona's fla defense.
As the invulnerability from Edge of Night faded, Arbok finally roared in agony. Unable to withstand the terrifying heat any longer, it uncoiled and fell back to the ground.
THUD!!! —
Arbok hit the ground hard, smoke rising from its scorched body. The crimson light in its eyes had faded.
Although it hadn't completely lost consciousness, it was clear that in its current state, Arbok could no longer fight.
On the other side, Volcarona wasn't doing well either.
The spot where Arbok had bitten it was now a sickly purple color.
The toxins from Poison Fang had invaded its body.
Although the level gap ant the poison wouldn't be instantly fatal, it was constantly draining Volcarona's stamina.
