Now reading: Chapter 249: Fossil Mountain from Pokémon:Fusing a 3-Star Beedrill at start!, a Other novel by segais.

Fossil Mountain. As the na suggests, it earned its fa many years ago due to the discovery of vast quantities of ancient Pokémon fossils.

Just like ruins enthusiasts, there were many fossil enthusiasts in this world whose greatest joy was collecting various ancient Pokémon fossils.

When Fossil Mountain was first discovered, fossil lovers from all over the country—and even the world—flocked to it like bees to honey.

Although protective asures were implented imdiately, even allowing just one fossil excavation per day adds up over many years.

Today, fossils in Fossil Mountain were scarce. It was extrely difficult to find anything new. So now, "Fossil Mountain" was little more than a na.

Only the occasional stubborn excavation team would still try their luck there.

And just a while ago, one such team, while digging for fossils, accidentally stumbled upon ruins hidden deep beneath the mountain.

Led by Yun Erdun, Kenji quickly arrived at Fossil Mountain.

Kenji looked around. Although called a "mountain," it wasn't very high. It was more like a large hill.

A huge stone stood at the entrance, carved with the three characters for "Fossil Mountain."

Outside the stone lay the vast grassland.

Behind the stone—the actual Fossil Mountain area—was a completely different scene.

Pockmarked with pits and craters everywhere. Small pits connected to big pits; big pits contained smaller pits. There wasn't a blade of grass in sight, let alone flat ground. Clearly, these were the scars left by years of fossil hunters.

Yun Erdun seed to know the place like the back of his hand. He led Kenji through the maze of craters, twisting and turning until they arrived in front of a dark cave entrance.

Many tents were already pitched in front of the cave. Nurous archaeologists in work clothes and safety helts were bustling about.

Seeing Yun Erdun arrive, they stopped their work to greet him.

Despite his exhaustion, Yun Erdun responded warmly to everyone.

Kenji followed behind, enduring the curious gazes from all directions. Wearing sunglasses, his true identity remained hidden from the staff.

Following Yun Erdun through the work site, they reached the central tent.

Yun Erdun lifted the flap and ducked inside. Kenji followed.

"Old Yun, you're finally here! Co look at our new discovery!"

The mont Yun Erdun entered, a tall, thin middle-aged man greeted him enthusiastically, pointing excitedly at an artifact on the table.

"Did you implent the orders I gave you?" Yun Erdun ignored the artifact for a mont, questioning the man instead.

The man was Yang Yue, captain of the ruins excavation team and a longti friend of fellow enthusiast Yun Erdun.

Although Yun Erdun was a Gym Leader first and an archaeologist second, his professional knowledge was surprisingly vast for an "amateur."

"Don't worry. I've stopped all excavation activities and sealed off the periter. I guarantee not even a Rattata can sneak in," Yang Yue assured him, patting his chest.

Hearing this, Yun Erdun breathed a sigh of relief.

On the way here, Kenji had explained just how dangerous this civilization—and the two sealed Super Ancient Pokémon—truly were.

So, Yun Erdun had imdiately contacted Yang Yue, ordering him to halt exploration and lock down the site, forbidding entry to unauthorized personnel.

Although confused, Yang Yue trusted his old friend and followed instructions.

Relieved, Yun Erdun finally turned his attention to the artifact on the table.

Inside a specialized protective case lay a pestle-shaped artifact with an eye-like design carved into its surface.

Kenji scanned the room and felt relieved when he didn't see the artifact sealing the Ancient Gengar.

Although he was interested in the Super Ancient Pokémon, he also had a responsibility to the citizens of Green City.

If he released them without the ans to control them, it would be a disaster.

With the power of the Ancient Gengar and Ancient Alakazam, destroying Green City would be child's play, even if destroying the world was an exaggeration.

Therefore, before releasing any Super Ancient Pokémon, Kenji needed to find the bell—the artifact sealing the Giant Ancient Jigglypuff.

In the story, the conflict ended when the Ancient Jigglypuff appeared, using the bell to sing a lullaby that pacified and resealed the two giants.

According to the ani, if the two giants fought again, the bell would react automatically, summoning Ancient Jigglypuff to put them back to sleep.

"Is this the pestle artifact you ntioned?" Yun Erdun turned to Kenji.

Kenji nodded. "Yes, that's it."

Just as Kenji finished speaking, the pestle artifact inside the case suddenly began to glow with a pulsing yellow light.

"What's happening???" Yang Yue exclaid, eyes wide.

Yun Erdun also noticed the anomaly and turned to look at Kenji.

But Kenji was staring straight at Yun Erdun's backpack.

"Take out the golden spoon artifact," Kenji said.

Yun Erdun reached into his storage bag. A mont later, he pulled out the protective case containing the golden spoon.

Sure enough, the spoon was also glowing with the sa golden light.

"What is going on?" Yang Yue asked, bewildered.
