Now reading: Chapter 291: The Return! Beedrill! Arbok! from Pokémon:Fusing a 3-Star Beedrill at start!, a Other novel by segais.

Although Gyarados had worked incredibly hard, Arbok's training regin hadn't been any less intense. Combined with its superior base potential and the personal guidance of a Master like Grandma Liu, Arbok had naturally managed to stay one step ahead of the sea serpent, officially breaking the Level 80 barrier first.

Beyond just the level increase, Arbok had also awakened a brand-new state within its Serpent Patterns.

This new ability was even more broken than the previous patterns, giving Arbok yet another terrifying trump card to play.

Kenji patted Arbok's smooth, cool head before turning his attention to his absolute Ace.

[Beedrill] (4-Star)

Gender: Male

Level: 93

Type: Bug / Poison

Abilities: Adaptability, Huge Power

Base Stats Total: 735 (Non-ga)

Moves: Swords Dance, Fell Stinger, Agility, Poison Jab, Outrage, Pin Missile, Double Team, Protect, X-Scissor, Giga Impact, Acrobatics, Endeavor...

Items: Radiant Infinity Edge, Radiant Last Whisper, Radiant Deathblade

Potential: Limit

Compared to an ordinary Beedrill, Kenji's was on a completely different planet. Its base stat total was 340 points higher than the species norm. A standard Beedrill had a total of 395; Kenji's was nearly double that.

And that was without ga Evolution.

Once it ga Evolved, its base stat total would skyrocket by another 100 points, hitting a staggering 835—surpassing almost everything except Darkrai and Slaking.

Beedrill's growth speed remained jaw-dropping. In just a few months, it had leaped to Level 93, officially stepping into the Champion tier.

After it reached this level, Kenji had tested it against Grandma Liu's Gengar one last ti.

In base form, Beedrill still couldn't overco the Master-rank Gengar. However, once Beedrill ga Evolved, it was capable of suppressing a non-ga Gengar. Even if Gengar ga Evolved to match it, the two were now neck-and-neck. Without going for a kill, it was impossible to say who was stronger.

The main reason was the redistribution of stats. A ga Beedrill at this star level possessed a Speed stat approaching 300. Not even a Master-rank ga Gengar could keep up with that kind of velocity.

Pure numbers. Absolute strength.

And Beedrill was still only Level 93. It had seven more levels to go before reaching the Master-rank ceiling. Its potential for growth was still massive, unlike Gengar, who had already hit the Level 100 cap.

Kenji shifted his gaze from the screen to Beedrill's twin lances.

The sharp tips, which used to be bone-white, had turned a sinister, glowing purple that radiated danger.

Beedrill was a dual Bug/Poison type. Previously, Kenji's training goals focused entirely on maximizing Attack and Speed. It was a philosophy of the "Perfect Glass Cannon."

While that wasn't wrong—ordinary Beedrill venom isn't particularly potent—Grandma Liu was a world-class Poison expert.

Over the last few months, she had used her secret thods to stimulate and refine the venom within Beedrill's body, multiplying its toxicity several tis over.

Now, Beedrill essentially possessed a permanent Poison Touch effect. Even if it didn't use a Poison-type move, any contact with its lances would inject this refined toxin into the opponent.

Furthermore, this venom was different from the slow-acting toxins used by most Poison-types.

Usually, a move like Toxic requires ti to build up and deal massive damage. That didn't fit Beedrill's lightning-fast, "one-hit KO" style. By the ti a normal poison kicked in, Beedrill would have already ended the fight.

Grandma Liu had accounted for this. The toxin Beedrill now carried was Corrosive Armor-Piercing Venom.

It was so acidic it could lt through steel. It acted as a passive "Defense Shred," lowering the opponent's physical defense on contact. Simultaneously, it acted as a massive neuro-stimulant, multiplying the target's pain receptors. Any damage the opponent took while poisoned would feel several tis more agonizing.

It was a cruel, efficient poison perfectly suited for a speed-blitzing assassin.

Aside from the two returning from Mt. Dreadmist, all of Kenji's other Pokémon had seen significant gains during their special training.

"Co on out, everyone!!" Kenji unclipped the remaining balls from his belt and released the whole team.

Streams of red light filled the training field. Pokémon materialized one after another, including the legendary Darkrai.

Of course, to keep its identity hidden, Darkrai was currently masquerading as a simple Gastly thanks to Ninetales's Illusion ability.

"Elec-bzzzt!"

As usual, Electivire was the most enthusiastic. It waved its arms, greeting Beedrill and Arbok like long-lost brothers.

The other Pokémon exchanged polite greetings, welcoming the two heavy hitters back to the fold. Even Annihilape managed to restrain its rage for a mont to acknowledge its teammates.

Kenji stepped back, watching his team interact with each other in harmony. A sense of deep fulfillnt washed over him. He was ready.
