Down on the field, Kenji stood in the trainer's box, eyes fixed on the opposite side of the arena.
His opponent was a man in his mid-thirties nad Wu Bing. He had a rugged, weather-beaten face—the look of soone who spent most of his life patrolling the dangerous transport routes of the wilderness.
His Ace was a Level 74 Snorlax. Thanks to a "care package" of data sent by Director He earlier that morning, Kenji already knew the levels and move sets of Wu Bing's entire roster.
The Director's "off-field assistance" was a nice perk of representing the academy.
"Battle... Begin!!!"

Two beams of red light shot into the arena.
In front of Wu Bing, a massive, round, and cuddly Pokémon appeared.
Snorlax, the Sleeping Pokémon. It was dark blue with a cream-colored belly, looking quite adorable with its squinted eyes and two tiny fangs. Despite its huggable appearance, it stood over four ters tall—a literal mountain of at that towered over most humans.

But the mont Tyranitar materialized, the entire atmosphere of the stadium changed. A violent wind tunnel erupted out of nowhere, whipping up a blinding sandstorm that carpeted the arena in a layer of yellow grit in seconds.
Sand Stream triggered.
And then, the silhouette within the storm was revealed.

"ROAAAARR!!!! —"
The roar was like a physical blow, echoing through the stadium with the force of a tectonic plate shifting.
"Kabi...?" Snorlax slowly tilted its head back, its tiny eyes widening as it stared up. And up. And up.
Against most Pokémon, Snorlax was the giant. But in front of this Tyranitar, it looked like a toddler.

It stood as high as four Snorlaxes stacked on top of each other.
The spectators in the stands leaned back, overwheld by the visual. To put it in perspective, a Wailord was only about twenty-four ters long. Kenji's Tyranitar was now approaching the scale of the world's largest Pokémon while being a solid, armored bipedal tank.
Facing the stunned Snorlax, Tyranitar didn't wait. It lifted a massive, pillar-like leg and slamd it into the earth.
Earthquake!!!
RUMBLE...
The ground buckled. A violent tremor rippled through the arena, the shockwave particularly devastating for a heavy Pokémon like Snorlax.
The "at Mountain" stumbled, its round body swaying as it struggled to maintain its balance on the shifting soil. Its small hands flailed, trying to find purchase.
"Snorlax!! Use Rollout!!!"
Wu Bing realized that standing still ant being picked apart. He ordered the only move that could turn Snorlax's massive weight into an advantage.
In an instant, Snorlax tucked its head and limbs into its belly, transforming into a gargantuan boulder. It began to spin, using the montum of the earthquake to accelerate as it barreled toward Tyranitar.
