"Arbok!! Dragon Pattern!"
"CHAAA!!!! —"
Upon hearing the command, Arbok let out a thunderous roar. Its cold, vertical pupils snapped wide, turning a deep, bloody crimson. Its body reared up, and its hood flared to its maximum width.
The pattern on its hood shifted into a complex, terrifying design—the image of a snarling, demonic dragon head with eyes that seed to burn with a physical light.
Simultaneously, a shimring, translucent dragon phantom erupted from its body, identical to the one seen during Dragon Rush.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
A heavy, rhythmic sound like a drum—or a titanic heart—echoed through the stadium.
Every pair of eyes in the stadium was glued to the black snake.
"That Arbok... what is happening to it??!"
On the high platform, Yuna Su (Southwest Elite) stood up, her eyes wide with disbelief.
Lawson, the eldest and most knowledgeable of the Elite Four, was equally stunned. Even with his century of experience, he had never seen an Arbok undergo a transformation like this.
In the stands, the audience was on its feet. The jumbotron provided a high-definition close-up, highlighting the eerie, non-biological nature of the change.
On the field, ga Garchomp let out a low, uneasy growl. Its scythe-arms were raised in a defensive guard—a posture its trainer, Hu Ren, knew only happened when the shark was facing a truly apex threat.
In the front row, Namgung Xi froze. She stared at Arbok with a dazed expression, whispering in confusion, "Strange... why do I feel the aura of the Guardian Deity on that snake?"
The "Guardian Deity" she referred to was the island-sized Dragonite of her ho.
In the waiting lounge, the masked Elder Venom (Grandma Liu) grinned behind her mask. Her eyes sparkled with the delight of a teacher watching their star pupil perform. She rembered how shocked she had been when Arbok first awakened this capability under her guidance.
Kenji watched his partner.
Currently, Arbok was engulfed in a swirling aura of violet and black draconic energy.
Gradually, the phantom dragon began to contract, being sucked into Arbok's physical form.
As the energy was absorbed, the snake's anatomy began to warp.
The two horn-like protrusions on its head elongated and hardened, transforming into a pair of legitimate dragon horns. Its facial structure shifted, its snout becoming more pronounced and reptilian.
Its body grew longer and more muscular. The black scales beca denser and more reinforced, gleaming with a deep, obsidian luster that looked more like forged tal than organic skin.
The transformation was total. By the ti the last of the dragon energy was internalized, the creature standing in the arena bore almost no resemblance to an Arbok. It looked like a legendary Black Dragon of ancient myth.
The only "flaw" was its lack of limbs, but that didn't detract from its lethal beauty.
In its Dragon Form, Arbok's stats had across-the-board boosts. Its Dragon-type moves, in particular, received a massive multiplier.
But the power ca with a price.
First, the surge of draconic energy temporarily suppressed its Poison-type nature. While it was still part Poison-type, its venomous moves were significantly weakened, and its STAB bonus for Poison was reduced.
Second, the stamina drain was catastrophic. Even at Level 81, Arbok could only maintain this form for a few minutes. Once it reverted, it would enter a state of extre exhaustion.
But compared to the sheer power it now wielded, the price was irrelevant.
If the Dragon Pattern was as strong as Grandma Liu claid, it could bridge the gap even against a Level 97 Pseudo-Legendary.
SWISH!!!! —
With a sonic boom, Arbok struck first. It blurred across the cratered field, moving so fast it seed to be flying just milliters above the ground.
Dragon Rush!!!!
In the blink of an eye, it was in ga Garchomp's face.
Arbok unhinged its jaws. A bone-chilling frost rolled off its fangs.
Ice Dragon Fang Rush!!!
ga Garchomp was Dragon/Ground—quadruple weak to Ice. Facing a fusion of Ice Fang and Dragon Rush, it couldn't afford to be hit. It swung its massive scythes downward in a desperate arc.
Dragon Claw!!
BANG!!!! —
The two titans collided. The ethereal claws of the dragon t the frozen fangs of the serpent.
A localized blizzard of cold energy and draconic sparks erupted, the roars of both creatures drowning out the crowd.
The deadlock lasted only a second. The Ice Dragon Fang Rush overpowered the claw strike. ga Garchomp's arm was knocked aside, and its massive body was forced backward, stumbling.
Arbok used the montum of the recoil to whip its entire body around.
Breaking Swipe!!!
BAM!!! —
The tail strike landed squarely on ga Garchomp's jaw, the force of the blow sending the shark-dragon flying across the arena.
ga Garchomp hit the ground hard, its eyes glowing with a murderous, blood-red light.
Breaking Swipe effect triggered! ga Garchomp's Attack stat was lowered.
Hu Ren's face was a mask of disbelief and confusion.
He couldn't fathom how his Ace—a Pseudo-Legendary with a base 170 Attack stat—had been physically overpowered in a head-on clash.
Is this transford Arbok really on the level of a 99 Champion Pokémon?
