Is that Kenji? The Champion of the Huaxia League Conference? And a close friend of Xi's? Truly remarkable, he muttered to himself.
"Damn it! This disgusting thing is too strong, my barrier won't hold much longer!"
Below, Darkrai grunted, its shadowy form straining. If ga Beedrill hadn't interrupted wtwo earlier to prevent it from focusing on dismantling the barrier, Darkrai's field would have been torn apart by now.
Kenji frowned, eyes fixed on the battle unfolding in the sky—a clash beyond the limits of mortal observation.

Since wtwo appeared above Dragon Island, the Master-rank Giant Dragonite hadn't stayed passive. As soon as the battle erupted, it had lunged into the fray.

The only reason that Executive was still alive was that wtwo was burning precious cognitive bandwidth to shield him from the stray shockwaves of the battle.
Although wtwo now possessed its own consciousness, it was still shackled by the control harness, compelled to obey Team Rocket's commands.
"Beedrill!!! Strike at the Team Rocket Executive!!!"
Kenji barked the command telepathically.
ga Beedrill didn't hesitate. It pivoted in mid-air, abandoning its harassnt of wtwo and diving straight toward the floating Executive.
wtwo's reflexes were instantaneous. It perceived the threat to the Executive with clinical precision. Bound by its armor, it went rigid, and in one fluid motion, it used its telekinesis to warp the Executive out of the trajectory, teleporting the man to safety even as Beedrill's stinger pierced the space he had just occupied.
But that distraction cost wtwo its focus. Giant Dragonite seized the opening, lashing out with a massive Dragon Claw.
Because wtwo had broken its rhythm, it could only react with a desperate, rushed block. The sheer force of the blow sent it spiraling through the air.
This was the first ti wtwo had been put on the back foot.
Kenji watched, his heart hamring. He ordered ga Beedrill to relentlessly pursue the Executive.
wtwo was now in a bind. Its eyes flared with murderous intent; it wanted nothing more than to crush the insect, but it was being forced to waste its psychic power playing bodyguard to a useless grunt.
The balance of the fight, once tipped in wtwo's favor, began to slip. It was being forced into a defensive crawl, unable to retaliate effectively while protecting its "load."
The Team Rocket Executive's face turned corpse-white. Even the dullest mind could see the danger. He started screaming at wtwo, babbling orders to protect him at all costs.
ga Beedrill was relentless. It jabbed at wtwo, then peeled away to harass the Executive, effectively turning the battle into a 2-on-1 where wtwo was handicapped by its own "ally."
"The High Command order has been issued!! Evacuate!! NOW!!!"
"Override! Access Level: Supre!!!"
"Repeating! The order is absolute!! Evacuate imdiately!! Get out of here!!"
"wtwo, forget the casualty! Forget the grunt! Do whatever it takes to escape!! Fall back!"
A series of harsh, chanical commands blared inside wtwo's mind, followed by the frantic, low-pitched growl of a Team Rocket Commander.
BANG!!!! —
wtwo's eyes turned a violent, incandescent red. With a sharp sound, the Executive—who had been screaming and causing the distraction—suddenly exploded. wtwo had telekinetically crushed the man to death to remove the burden.
Finally free, wtwo moved. It raised a hand, conjuring a barrier of psychic energy to catch Giant Dragonite's claw, and then unleashed a Thunder Punch with its free hand.
THUD!!!! —
Dragonite was sent reeling backward.
With the human baggage dead, wtwo turned its full, unchained focus back to the battlefield. The battle had just entered its deadliest phase.
