This was the process of purifying the impurities within Arbok's body. Under the slting influence of the golden scale, its draconic bloodline had beco incredibly pure.
As the bloodline purified, the power granted by the Dragon Pattern amplified significantly. Furthermore, since Arbok's level had jumped from Elite to Champion tier, its strength in its Dragon Form now officially reached the Master tier.
Arbok's assault was savage, a suicide-style tactic that prioritized dealing damage at any cost.
To bridge the gap between a Champion-tier fighter and a Master-tier opponent, Arbok had to go all-in. It had no room to play defensively.
Under the combined assault of the three Pokémon, wtwo was finally starting to show signs of strain.
Beneath the silver-white armor, wtwo grew increasingly furious. This was the first ti since its creation that it had been pushed into such a corner.
That silver-white armor, ironically, provided no true power boost—it was a prison. Every ti wtwo tried to unleash its full psychic potential, the harness would constrict, restricting and limiting its output.
Escape!!!
In the depths of wtwo's consciousness, caught between the resentnt of being controlled and the fury of being suppressed, a primal desire to shatter the silver armor began to swell.
This internal conflict started to bleed into wtwo's conscious mind, making its movents erratic and uncontrolled.
"Dammit!! Dammit!!! DAMMIT!!!! —"
In a hidden research facility far away, a gaunt man in a lab coat with dark, heavy circles under his eyes slamd his fists onto his desk. His bloodshot eyes were glued to the screen showing the battle between wtwo and the Arbok/Beedrill/Dragonite trio.
This was the birthplace of wtwo and the headquarters of Team Rocket's genetic cloning division.
The man in the lab coat was Dr. Fang, the mastermind behind the project and one of the highest-ranking mbers of Team Rocket, second only to their mysterious Founder.
This brilliant but deranged scientist stared at the screen with eyes that looked ready to burst.
Team Rocket had pushed wtwo to its limit. If they lifted the internal limiters any further, there was a massive risk that wtwo would lose control entirely.
This was sothing Dr. Fang could never, ever accept.
wtwo was his life's work—the most perfect experint he had ever created. While cloning technology was improving, the odds of creating another existence as perfect as wtwo were statistically zero.
He could not accept wtwo going rogue and slipping from his control.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn you, Kenji!!! It's him again!!!"
Dr. Fang was the head of the genetic research division. The gene-synthesis technology used to create Arbok had also been one of his pet projects.
Losing Arbok years ago was the first ti Kenji had crossed paths with Team Rocket—and with Dr. Fang. The subsequent tracking and assassination attempts on Kenji were all orchestrated by the Doctor.
But later, as the wtwo project reached a critical phase, Dr. Fang had shifted his focus away from the boy.
He hadn't expected that years later, this sa Kenji would reappear, bringing along that very "failed experint" to ruin his masterpiece.
Dr. Fang felt like he could kill Kenji with his bare hands.
Gritting his teeth, he finally made the call: he released another layer of the armor's restrictions on wtwo.
As the limiters were loosened, wtwo's power surged, becoming even more terrifying.
Kenji frowned. He glanced at Darkrai beside him, concerned. "How is it? How much longer can you hold the seal?"
"Not long," Darkrai spat irritably. "Two minutes, tops. The domain won't hold under this much pressure."
Kenji frowned. Two minutes. Looking at wtwo's current state, three Pokémon probably couldn't take it down in that ti.
Once the Shadow Tag domain shattered, wtwo would be free to Teleport. Even with ga Beedrill's speed, pinning down a Pokémon with that level of spatial control was nearly impossible.
This left Kenji frustrated. Allowing a monster like wtwo to remain under Team Rocket's control was a massive liability. No one knew what other atrocities they would commit with it.
But the island had been saved. That was the primary victory.
High above, the three Pokémon clashed in a blur.
Dragonite used Extre Speed. In terms of pure linear movent, it was every bit as fast as ga Beedrill, but it lacked the sheer agility required to maneuver in tight spots.
Dragonite blurred behind wtwo, unleashing a Dragon Claw that tore through the air.
wtwo didn't look back. It forced Arbok back with a single Psychic blast.
BANG!!! —
Dragonite's claw landed, but wtwo reacted with a barrier of psychic energy that absorbed the strike.
Then, wtwo whipped its tail around, manifesting a Psycho Cut blade from the tip, slashing toward Dragonite.
Dragonite didn't dare take a direct hit, quickly retreating.
Just as the two monsters disengaged, ga Beedrill swooped in.
wtwo was overwheld. Having just repelled two Pokémon, it didn't have ti to reset. It instinctively used Teleport, vanishing from the spot to escape the circle of fire.
But it was only a Level 70 (Elite) wtwo in terms of experience—not the cosmic horror it would one day beco. Even with its high power, it was still a Pokémon.
And Pokémon have limits.
The three-way battle raged on, their techniques moving faster than human eyes could follow. Even the Elite Four mbers had to watch the playback on the screen to understand the split-second decisions being made in the heat of the fight.
They watched as ga Beedrill's lances missed by a fraction of a milliter, and wtwo countered with psychic barrages that punched holes in the atmosphere.
Kenji understood: ga Beedrill was the only one capable of keeping pace, but it couldn't win alone.
He had to coordinate. He had to be the bridge between his two partners.
