Due to the side effects of Draco teor, which severely dropped its Special
Attack, Kingdra had been forced to abandon its long-range barrages. Instead, it
transitioned into a desperate, high-stakes physical brawl against ga Gyarados.
Kingdra's fighting style beca shockingly aggressive. After the teor shower,
it lunged into a series of Wave Crashes.
Wave Crash—a Water-type physical nuke. With a base power of 120, it was
essentially the aquatic equivalent of Double-Edge. It hit with the force of a
tidal wave, but the recoil damage was just as punishing to the user.
On paper, Wave Crash was significantly more powerful than the Aqua Tail ga
Gyarados was using. However, physical combat was the Sea Sovereign's specialty.
Between the stat-shredding effects of Intimidate (pre-ga) and the raw power of
Conqueror's Infusion, ga Gyarados managed to fight the Seahorse to a
standstill.
In a battle of attrition, this was a losing ga for Kingdra. Every ti it
traded blows, it had to stomach the massive recoil of its own move.
Yet, the Pokémon didn't seem to care. It threw itself at the twenty-ter
serpent again and again, turning the moat into a frothing, violent whirlpool.
ga Gyarados, a creature that had been a "stony-headed fish" since its days as
a Magikarp, refused to yield an inch. It t every head-on collision with a
brutal swipe of its tail.
The two clashed beneath the surface, sending towering waves crashing against the
arena walls. Finally, the chaotic churning of the water began to slow. A large,
dark shape drifted slowly toward the surface.
When it broke the water, it was clear: Kingdra was floating belly-up,
unconscious.
"Kingdra is unable to battle! ga Gyarados wins!" the referee barked.
SPLASH!
ga Gyarados erupted from the water, let out a triumphant roar, and coiled its
body in the center of the island. Having fought back-to-back high-intensity
matches while maintaining its ga form, the serpent's breathing was heavy, and
its stamina was visibly flagging.
Lawson recalled his fallen Pokémon without a word. As he did, the heavy rain
finally tapered off. The storm clouds thinned, allowing a few weak rays of
sunlight to pierce through the overcast sky.
The Northwest Elite Four looked up at the weather but didn't bother sending
Pelipper back out to refresh the rain. Instead, he reached for a different ball.
"Go! Inteleon!"
"YI-HA!"
A lean, bipedal lizard landed gracefully on the central island. Inteleon stood
tall, its body impossibly slender, its large yellow eyes as calm and unmoving as
a stagnant pond.
Inteleon, the final evolution of Sobble and a Water-type Starter. It carried the
aura of a high-level secret agent. Even just standing still, it radiated a
chilling, professional coldness.
Its biological design was a marvel of "gadgetry." Much like the spies in movies
who carried umbrellas that were actually bulletproof shields or glasses that
functioned as thermal sensors, Inteleon was a living weapon. The thin mbranes
on its back allowed it to glide; its fingertips could fire high-pressure water
jets with more piercing power than a sniper rifle, capable of punching through
solid steel plates.
Most dangerously, it possessed specialized nictitating mbranes over its eyes
that allowed it to perceive the minute weaknesses of its opponents.

Kenji felt a jolt of genuine surprise. As expected of the Leader of the regional
Elite Four.
The other three regional leaders usually only possessed a single Level 99
"God-tier" ace. But Lawson, in addition to his legendary Starmie, possessed a
second Level 99 combatant in this Inteleon.
The gap between Level 98 and 99 was small in numbers, but in terms of refined
combat experience and raw power output, it was a chasm. Kenji's expression
sharpened.
"HOU…"
ga Gyarados let out a low, vibrating growl. It sensed the lethality radiating
from the lizard.
"Inteleon! Ice Beam! Flash-freeze the water!"
"YI-HA!"
Inteleon pointed a slender finger at the moat. A jagged beam of crystalline blue
energy shot out, and the water began to freeze instantly. The ice raced across
the surface at a terrifying speed, encasing the entire moat in a thick,
translucent sheet of permafrost in seconds.
"HOOOOOOOOR!"
ga Gyarados roared, swinging its tail to shatter the ice that tried to creep
up its body. It didn't wait for a second command. The water-ejection ports along
its sides erupted, venting high-pressure jets that acted like rocket boosters.
Leveraging the recoil, the twenty-ter serpent lunged forward like a supersonic
jet flying at low altitude, its head aid straight for Inteleon.
Inteleon remained motionless. It watched the mountain of armored scales
screaming toward it, its eyes performing a series of cold, chanical
calculations. It was asuring the distance, the speed, and the optimal timing
for an intercept.
Just as the Sea Sovereign entered its "Kill Zone," Inteleon finally moved. It
raised both hands, its fingers glowing with a sharp, white light.
Vacuum Wave!
WHISH-WHISH!
BANG!
Because Vacuum Wave was a priority move, its execution was near-instantaneous.
The timing was so precise it felt like it had been programd into a computer.
Two waves of compressed, Fighting-type air slamd into ga Gyarados's chest
with the force of a point-blank explosion.
Because ga Gyarados was part Dark-type, the blow was devastatingly effective.
