"HOOOOOOOOOR!"
Gyarados slamd its massive tail into the arena floor. A colossal wave of water
erupted from the moat, surging upward to swallow the falling stones,
neutralizing Aerodactyl's Stone Edge with ease.
"Hydro Pump!"
SHHH-BOOM!
The Sea Sovereign unhinged its jaws, firing a high-pressure torrent that forced
Aerodactyl into a desperate, aerial scramble.
The ancient bird realized with a jolt of frustration that even at long range, it
was being outclassed. Every ti it tried to find an opening, the sheer volu
of water forced it back. It was a slow death by attrition.
"Aerodactyl! Use Prival Dragon Ascent!"
"HUA-HAAAA!"
The Sky King let out a piercing shriek. As it banked through the air, it swung
its claws in a rhythmic pattern. The fractured earth below responded; massive
chunks of rock tore free from the ground, flying upward to swarm around the
bird.
This is it...
Kenji's eyes narrowed. This was a bizarre sight. The stones didn't just orbit
Aerodactyl; they began to fuse, layering over its body until the bird vanished
entirely. In its place was a gargantuan, sky-blotting avatar of a rock-scaled
dragon.
Prival Dragon Ascent was Zhurong Yun's signature ultimate—a fusion of Ancient
Power and Dragon Rush.
Legend said that this was the true form of Aerodactyl from eons ago, before its
DNA had degraded into its current fossilized state. The avatar radiated a
crushing pressure. Simultaneously, the Ancient Power effect reached its zenith,
boosting every one of Aerodactyl's stats by the maximum six stages. It was a
terrifying, temporary ascension to the Master Tier.
"Gyarados! Conqueror's Infusion: Raging Tide: Outrage Slaughter!"
The rock dragon hadn't even fully ford when Kenji gave the order. Below,
Gyarados ignited with a dark, terrifying aura. Its eyes turned a murderous
crimson, and the air around it distorted under the weight of its Intimidate
aura, which had been physically solidified into a black-tinted shroud.
High above, the stone titan sensed the threat. It tucked its wings and dove, a
falling mountain of obsidian-hard rock aid directly at the serpent.
THOOM!
The collision was cataclysmic. Gyarados's twenty-ter fra looked small
against the massive rock-avatar, but the two forces locked in a violent
struggle.
Crack... CRACK-SHATTER!
A single fracture appeared on the avatar's chest. Then a dozen. Then a hundred.
BOOM!
The stone dragon erupted from the inside out. A wave of golden-yellow light
exploded, sending shards of rock screaming in every direction. The debris
hamred against the Chandelure's psychic barrier, creating a sound like a
hundred machine guns firing at once. The arena was swallowed by a thick,
suffocating cloud of dust and pulverized earth.
Kenji remained calm. He knew his "Sea Sovereign."
Inside that cloud, Aerodactyl had unleashed a Master-tier nuke, but it had hit a
brick wall. Gyarados was equipped with the Radiant Edge of Night. No matter how
strong the Dragon Ascent was, the mont it triggered the "Lethal Threshold,"
Gyarados beca functionally invulnerable for a critical window. Aerodactyl's
ultimate had been t with a divine "No."
As the dust finally drifted away, a blue silhouette stood tall, its head held
high.
In front of it, Aerodactyl lay sprawled in the dirt, its wings broken and its
eyes rolled back. It had burned every drop of its energy for a strike that
hadn't even scratched its opponent.
"What?!" Zhurong Yun gasped, his composure shattering.
This was impossible. Even if Gyarados was Level 99, it should have been crippled
by a max-stat Dragon Ascent. To see it standing there, looking relatively fresh,
defied every law of Pokémon battling Yun had ever learned.
"His Pokémon... they don't follow the rules," Yun whispered, a look of profound
realization crossing his face. He recalled his fallen ace, his hands shaking
slightly as he reached for a final, weathered Poké Ball.
"Co back, Gyarados," Kenji said, recalling the serpent. It had earned its
rest.
"The next one," Zhurong Yun said, his voice thick with emotion, "is a partner
left to by my grandfather."
Kenji had heard the rumors. Most trainers would release a Pokémon once its
master passed, but this one had stayed. It had chosen the grandson, serving as
the Zhurong Clan's living legacy. It wasn't just a partner; it was a guardian
deity.
"Go! Arcanine!"
The Poké Ball burst. Materializing in the center of the arena was a majestic,
white-maned beast of fire.
[Pokémon Status]
Na: Arcanine (The Legacy) Gender: Male Level: 100 Type: Fire Ability:
Intimidate Potential: S
Kenji's breath hitched. Level 100. The Master Tier.
The difference between Level 99 and Level 100 wasn't just a number—it was a
state of being. An Arcanine at this level radiated a literal "Divine Aura" that
made the air feel pure and sacred. It stood with an immovable dignity that even
Gyarados would have struggled to suppress.
"The Legacy vs. the Nightmare. Go! Darkrai!"
Kenji threw the ball. The red light streaked into the arena, but no Pokémon
appeared. The crowd—the Elders and Xun—held their breath. They knew Darkrai was
there; the temperature in the arena had plumted, and the shadows of the rocks
were stretching and twisting unnaturally.
Kenji smirked. He had been worried a Level 99 wouldn't be enough to let Darkrai
cut loose. But a Level 100 Master? This was going to be legendary.
"SHHHH!"
Suddenly, a sphere of compressed darkness erupted from the shadow of a rock
behind Arcanine.
The fire-dog didn't even look back. With a burst of speed that looked like a
localized teleport, it vanished, reappearing ters away.
Extre Speed!
But as Arcanine landed, the shadow beneath its paws surged. Darkrai drifted out
of the earth like a phantom, its blue eyes glowing with a cold, predatory light.
"Arcanine! Flathrower!"
The beast unhinged its jaws, releasing a fan-shaped spray of fire that covered
half the arena.
Darkrai didn't dodge. It raised a single, wispy hand, and a shimring Light
Screen manifested. The flas split around the nightmare god, leaving him and
the ground behind him untouched.
"Dark Void!"
Darkrai snapped its fingers. The darkness on the floor expanded instantly,
dragging the entire arena into a localized dinsion of shadow. Hundreds of
shadowy tentacles erupted from the void, reaching for Arcanine's legs.
"HOUUUUU!"
Arcanine let out a resonant howl. It stomped its front paw, and a beautiful,
ethereal fire-lotus blood beneath it. The holy flas of the lotus acted as a
barrier, the shadowy tentacles unable to penetrate the divine heat.
Darkrai's eyes flashed with surprise. This was the first ti Dark Void had been
so cleanly repelled by a non-Mythical.
The Master Tier... Kenji thought. It really is a different world.
"HOUUUUU!"
Arcanine launched again. It moved with the speed of a sunbeam, its claws and
fangs glowing with a shimring, pink-tinted aura.
Extre Speed Play Rough!
Fairy-type energy. Darkrai's primary weakness.
BANG!
Darkrai's form shattered like glass.
But across the field, the real Nightmare God appeared, his hand already raised
for a counter-Dark Pulse.
The battle of the Gods had begun.
