"Blaziken is unable to battle! Beedrill wins!"
"All six of Zhurong Yun's Pokémon have been defeated! The final winner of this
Championship Challenge is Kenji!"
Even though Zhurong Yun had already sprinted off the field to save his partner,
Elder Qi remained professional. He announced the result with a booming voice
that echoed across the maples of Mt. Cinder.
With those words, the era had officially shifted.
Kenji was now the Grand Champion of the Huaxia League. He had not only broken
the Zhurong clan's multi-generational monopoly on the throne but had also beco
the youngest trainer in history to ever hold the title.
Surprisingly, the Zhurong clan mbers watching from the benches didn't look
bitter. At their level, they had long since transcended petty ego. They had
watched their Champion fight with the literal power of their God, and they had
watched that power be systematically dismantled by a common insect. They didn't
feel cheated; they felt awe.
The Zhurong foundation was built on respect for strength, and Kenji had just
proven he was the strongest pillar in the nation.
"I'll be waiting for your challenge in the Eight Masters circuit," Elder Qi
said, stepping forward to shake Kenji's hand with a firm, respectful grip.
Zhurong Yun was already strong enough to hold a seat among the Eight Masters—the
eight strongest trainers on the planet. But Kenji? After seeing Beedrill treat a
Divine-tier ga Blaziken like a warm-up exercise, Qi knew Kenji wasn't just
aiming for a seat. He was aiming for the top.
In the current world rankings, the number one spot of the Eight Masters was held
by a man known as the Legendary Emperor, a trainer whose Regieleki was
considered a natural disaster in a Poké Ball. The gap between a God and a
standard Pokémon was usually an ocean, and even the Zhurong clan's
Phoenix-Blessed partners couldn't quite close it.
But looking at Kenji's Beedrill, Elder Qi saw hope. Even a Regieleki would
struggle against the "Possessed" Blaziken they had just seen, yet Beedrill had
ended the fight without a scratch.
"The world is about to realize that the 'Supernova' of Huaxia isn't just a
bright light," Qi muttered, watching Kenji with a grin. "He's a black hole."
After the formalities, Kenji and Xun Zhurong descended the mountain.
Xun walked with his hands in his pockets, unusually silent. He had always known
Kenji was a freak of nature, but this was different. He had expected a struggle.
He had expected a bloodbath. He hadn't expected his uncle—the strongest man he
knew—to be swept aside so decisively.
At the base of the peak, they found Zhurong Yun walking out of the clan's
private healing center. Kenji imdiately rushed over, his face etched with
concern.
"Champion Yun... how is Blaziken?"
Kenji ant it. The injuries Blaziken had sustained were horrific. Seeing its
skin crack under the pressure of Ho-Oh's energy had made Kenji's stomach turn.
He had won the match, but he would have carried a heavy weight of guilt if he'd
permanently crippled a legendary warrior like that.
"He'll live," Yun said, his voice carrying a mix of exhaustion and relief.
It was a miracle, honestly. Standard Pokémon dicine wouldn't have been enough.
But Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire was a double-edged sword. While the consciousness of the
Phoenix had left the vessel, a spark of the divine fla remained in Blaziken's
heart.
When the Pokémon had been brought in, its body was functionally falling apart.
But that lingering "Divine Spark" acted like a supernatural adhesive. It was a
high-octane regenerative agent that was currently knitting Blaziken's cells back
together from the inside out.
"The pain was imnse," Yun added softly, "but he's a fighter. He'll be back on
his feet within the month."
Kenji let out a long breath he hadn't realized he was holding.
The news of Kenji's victory didn't just leak—it exploded.
Within an hour, "Kenji Defeats Zhurong Yun" was the number one trending topic on
every social dia platform in Huaxia. By the second hour, the international
news cycles had picked it up.
The global training community was in a state of collective shock. Kenji's
performance at the Huaxia Conference had already put him on the map, but this
was different. This was the final step. He had officially reached the top of a
Tier-1 regional League before most trainers his age had even finished their
senior year of academy.
The world watched with bated breath, wondering what this "Supernova" would do
next.
Kenji, however, wasn't in a rush to leave. He spent a full month at the Zhurong
estate, helping with his partners' recovery and soaking in the ancient knowledge
of the clan.
Two weeks into his stay, a surprise visitor arrived at the Mt. Cinder gates.
Grandma Liu (Elder Venom) had officially "co out of retirent" to witness her
pupil's success. She marched into the Zhurong estate with a look of pure,
unadulterated smugness. She didn't just walk; she strode, her chin held high and
a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Kenji watched in amusent as Elder Lie—one of the most respected figures in the
clan—practically tripped over himself to greet her.
Despite his age, Elder Lie looked like a scolded schoolboy in front of the
Poison-type master. Grandma Liu's seniority was legendary; she belonged to the
generation of Lie's parents, and she didn't let him forget it.
Facing her "Face-Slapping" remarks and pointed barbs about how a "commoner's"
student had taken their throne, the Zhurong elders simply bowed their heads and took the scolding. In the House of Zhurong, strength was king, but age was law. And Grandma Liu had both.
