Overjoyed, Kenji quickly worked, and in no ti, successfully raised Oddish to 4-Stars.

With Oddish raised to 4-Stars, its level, which was barely LV.1 after infancy, instantly jumped to LV.18.

It was only three levels shy of the twenty-one needed to evolve into Gloom.

For an Oddish with [ULTIMATE] potential, three levels would take barely a week.

With such a massive level jump in one go, Oddish's small face was completely blank with confusion.

Kenji smiled and rubbed Oddish's little head.

The little one had a very gentle, non-clingy nature—a perfect good baby.

Larvitar was obedient, but fearfully timid—a nervous wreck.

Oddish, while a good baby, didn't seek trouble but also wasn't afraid of it. Its courage was fine.

Gyarados and Beedrill were the undisputed star students of the team, needing no instruction from Kenji in their training.

Arbok and Larvitar had adapted to the current training intensity and now trained diligently each day under the motivation of Gyarados and Beedrill.

Kenji didn't interfere much with Ninetales's training. That Pokémon was true to its word, spending half the day in self-training.

This allowed Kenji to focus his full attention on Oddish's training.

With the aid of High-grade Pokéblocks and the Grass-type training thods Kenji had studied in depth, the Evolution Light suddenly flared up during lunch, in just five days.

The other Pokémon stopped eating and looked over at Oddish.

Oddish was startled itself, but the instinctual mory in its blood told it this was evolution, a sign of growth. Oddish chirped excitedly, waiting for the evolution to complete.

The other Pokémon, including Kenji, watched curiously.

The evolution didn't take long.

But before the Evolution Light could completely fade, a dense, almost solid stench suddenly wafted out.

In just a few breaths, it filled the entire room.

"ROAR..." Gyarados's eyes bulged, and it let out a low growl, retreating quickly.

As for Beedrill, it stayed silent, having already retreated to the farthest corner.

Ninetales and Arbok instinctively recoiled, expressions of profound disgust on their faces.

Even the timid, obedient Larvitar covered its nose with its small hands, shuffling backward with a look of fear.

Gloom opened its eyes. The first thing it saw was its partners retreating and trying to avoid it.

Gloom's smile froze. The joy in its eyes faded, replaced by confusion, helplessness, and sadness. It instinctively looked at the first human it had t since hatching: its trainer, Kenji.

For a mont, Kenji felt like he was suffocating. But seeing Gloom's pitiful gaze, he steeled himself. He fought back the noxious odor and quickly walked to Gloom, embracing it.

"Don't be sad. You'll soon be the cutest little thing in the world," Kenji said, then pressed the Sun Stone he had prepared against Gloom's body.

The Gloom, having just finished its previous evolution, was imdiately enveloped in a brilliant white light once more.

As the Evolution Light flared, the stench in the room slowly dissipated.

Kenji gasped for air, nearly passing out from the sll.

He and the others weren't overreacting. After all, Gloom's sll was a weapon used against enemies to keep them away. The Pokédex recorded that a full-power Gloom could knock a human unconscious from over a mile away.

And since his Gloom had the Stench ability, the sll was multiplied, making it unbelievably potent.

Stinky as it was, Gloom's nectar was of the highest quality, tasting incredibly sweet.

It was also rumored that the worse a Gloom slled, the prettier it would beco as a Bellossom...

Logically, an Oddish that had just evolved into Gloom should not imdiately use a Sun Stone to evolve again.

But Kenji had to consider two things: first, his and his Pokémon's noses; and second, Gloom's emotional well-being. If every partner avoided it, Gloom would beco depressed over ti.

As the odor slowly cleared, the other Pokémon cautiously moved closer.

In a mont, the Evolution Light faded. The unsightly Gloom was replaced by a small creature with two bright red flowers atop its head.

The little Pokémon had two small red flowers on its head, resembling twin buns. It had blue eyes and flushed cheeks. Its body was a vibrant green, and the leaves around its waist served as a grass skirt.

Bellossom timidly opened its eyes after the evolution. It was afraid of seeing its partners' recoiling expressions again.

In a mont of nervousness, Bellossom opened its eyes.

But they were gone. Its partners, including its trainer, gathered around, all looking at it with curiosity.

Larvitar, who was about the sa height, even looked slightly shy, its eyes darting away when Bellossom t its gaze.

"What a beautiful Bellossom," Kenji exclaid, admiring his Pokémon.

"Lii..."

Bellossom cried out, looked down at its adorable, petite body, and joy once again spread across its face. It hopped straight into Kenji's embrace.
