After finishing its al, Beibei was just about to take a good rest before finding sothing to do in the afternoon.

Then—

The mont it turned its head, it noticed the door… left slightly ajar.

"Wan?"

A trace of confusion appeared on Beibei's face.

In the past, it had snuck out by quietly following a caretaker when they weren't paying attention.

But a door left this openly unattended?

This was the first ti.

So careless!

Beibei shook its little head, looking sowhat helpless.

But…

Its dark eyes rolled, and the corners of its mouth slowly lifted.

This seed like the perfect chance to escape.

Without overthinking—true to its impulsive nature—Beibei quickly sprang into action. It padded over on its short legs, carefully pushed the door open, and peeked outside.

Its movents were cautious.

With plenty of escape experience, Beibei knew that although there weren't many staff around at this hour, recklessly stepping out might still lead to running into soone.

So observation—and listening—were key.

A Pokémon's senses far surpassed a human's, which was exactly why Beibei could repeatedly slip out even under tight supervision.

"Wan…"

After confirming there were no footsteps, Beibei slowly opened the door wider and squeezed its round body out.

Then—

As if rembering sothing, it turned back to look inside.

Sure enough.

The two panda cubs it lived with were staring at it, full of curiosity, as if wondering what this "fellow panda" was up to.

"Wan."

Not wanting these not-so-bright little ones to imitate its escape, Beibei thoughtfully closed the door behind it before leaving.

At the sa ti, the mont Beibei stepped out—

Old Lu and the others in the monitoring room noticed imdiately.

"Old Lu…"

So still looked reluctant.

Old Lu spoke calmly.

"No matter what choice Beibei makes, we should respect it. We can't keep interfering because of our own feelings."

"It's about ti. Like usual, send a few people to chase after it. Don't let it notice anything unusual."

The group exchanged looks, then sighed.

All they could do now… was hope.

Hope that when Beibei made its choice, it would choose them.

Beibei sprinted through the zoo.

Animals that had just woken up shrank back into their dens at the sight of its small figure.

"Wan…"

So boring.

The best thing about living in the zoo was the food.

The worst—

There wasn't a single decent opponent.

Well… not entirely.

When it first arrived, the lions and tigers had tried provoking it.

Back then, the fences weren't as high. Taking advantage of the night, Beibei had slipped into the predator enclosure.

And then—

Well.

There was no "then."

It hadn't expected them to be so weak. A few punches, and they were down.

And they dared provoke it?

After that, all the predators avoided Beibei. When bored, it would sneak in just to "play" with the tougher ones.

As a Fighting-type Pokémon, the urge to battle and grow stronger was impossible to suppress.

Beibei glanced at a tiger fleeing in panic, looking slightly dejected.

Then—

It checked the corridor behind it.

Right on cue—

"Beibei!!!"

Here they co.

Beibei's eyes lit up.

Seeing unfamiliar figures rushing out, it didn't linger. It turned and dashed away.

The routine was familiar.

Soon enough, it escaped the zoo.

But…

Sothing felt off.

The people chasing it today weren't the usual ones.

Even slowing down a bit, it still easily lost them.

Beibei stopped.

No one behind it.

"Wan…"

Sothing felt strange.

Just then—

A surprised voice ca from nearby.

"Oh, Beibei! First ti seeing you escape this early."

Caught!

Beibei turned sharply.

It was a breakfast stall. Steam rose from stacked bamboo stears.

A bearded middle-aged owner smiled warmly.

"Beibei, want to co sit for a bit?"

"Wan!"

Beibei turned its head away.

Humans were tricky.

Once, when it was younger, it had believed soone who offered shelter—

Only to be captured and sent back.

Never again!

It was about to leave when—

The man hurriedly grabbed a bag of soup dumplings.

"Wait! I'm not here to catch you. Want so food?"

"Wan?"

Beibei paused.

Food?

It turned back.

The man held a bag of steaming dumplings.

"They're all at filling—perfect for you!"

Beibei sniffed.

The aroma was irresistible.

Its body betrayed it—it stayed.

Soon, it grabbed one and popped it into its mouth.

Its eyes lit up.

"Wan~"

Pure bliss.

More vendors arrived.

"Beibei, try this!"

"Here, have so at buns!"

Before long—

Beibei was surrounded.

Startled, it squeezed out and ran.

Even as people called out—

It didn't stop.

It was full.

Completely full.

Rubbing its belly contentedly, Beibei suddenly froze.

Wait.

Where were the pursuers?

By now, it should've been surrounded.

But today…

Nothing.

Sothing was definitely wrong.

Just as it hesitated—

"Monster!"

Beibei's eyes sharpened.

It dashed toward the sound.

It couldn't allow Pokémon to harm humans.

In a nearby alley—

Chen Mo, sensing Beibei's approach, turned to Pikachu.

"This is your cue."

"Pika!"

They exchanged a glance.

Instant understanding.

Next second—

Chen Mo bolted, panic written all over his face.

"Help!"

Behind him—

Pikachu wore a fierce expression, eyes locked on him.

Using a wooden crate, it leapt.

"Pika!!!"

Its Iron Tail glowed white—

Striking down like lightning.

At that mont—

Beibei appeared.

Without hesitation, it grabbed Chen Mo and tossed him aside.

The attack redirected to itself.

"Wan!"

No fear.

Only excitent.

It raised both paws—

And caught the Iron Tail.

Boom!

The impact surged through its body.

Painful—

But exhilarating.

Its instincts awakened.

Using the force—

Seismic Toss!

Pikachu, already holding back, let itself be thrown—

Crashing into the wall.

"Pika!"

It stood up, pretending to struggle.

Chen Mo, giving a subtle signal, fled in panic.

Above—

Yige, riding Xatu, captured everything.

The livestream exploded.

[Pikachu: You're strong!]

[Beibei: You too!]

[This acting is insane 😂]

[Pikachu deserves an Oscar]

[Teacher Chen's acting is… a bit exaggerated though]

[Beibei RUN they're all actors!!!]

Beibei, completely unaware of the setup, stared seriously at Pikachu.

"Wan!"

Why are you attacking humans?!
