Since its birth, Marshadow had always followed Ho-Oh.

So even though it was only a video, Marshadow—who was extrely familiar with Ho-Oh—could sense that the power used by the Unown most likely originated from Ho-Oh.

However—

Marshadow wasn't lying to Chen Mo. It was just as puzzled.

What exactly was the connection between the Ho-Oh it revered and these strange, bizarre creatures? Why had it never heard Ho-Oh ntion them before…?

Chen Mo shook his head.

It could only be said—worthy of being Ho-Oh.

As a cover legendary introduced as early as Generation II, Ho-Oh had always maintained an extrely high level of mystery, whether in the gas or the ani, compared to other generation mascots.

Especially in the ani, due to its rare appearances, many fans in Chen Mo's previous life jokingly referred to it as the "behind-the-scenes caraman" of the Pokémon world.

Of course—

A joke was just a joke.

If even Marshadow didn't know, then no matter how much Chen Mo racked his brain, he probably wouldn't find an answer right now.

Still—

Because of the Unown and Ho-Oh, the sixteen fallen soldiers had been revived.

In a sense, for humanity, this disaster could be considered to have resulted in zero fatalities.

And without a doubt, Chen Mo—who had warned the authorities beforehand and stepped forward during the crisis—beca a hero in the eyes of many.

The mont he returned to the base camp, he was greeted by thunderous applause from soldiers and staff alike.

"You've earned this."

The man in the white coat patted Chen Mo on the shoulder.

It was a bit amusing, really.

When it ca to action, Chen Mo acted as if he had no regard for life and death. But when it ca ti to receive the recognition he deserved, he instead seed a little restrained.

"I rember you being pretty relaxed during your livestreams?"

"That's different."

Chen Mo shook his head.

Livestreaming was online—he only saw scrolling comnts. That was very different from facing people in person.

After dealing with the enthusiastic crowd, Chen Mo's attention was quickly drawn to the many pink Pokémon moving around the camp.

Nurous Chansey, working alongside human doctors, were placing clearly injured Pokémon onto carts and efficiently transporting them toward the camp's dical station.

Sunflora, Oddish, Bellsprout…

So of these Pokémon had clearly been part of the wild Pokémon forces that fought against the replicated Suicune.

"We fought side by side before. We can't just ignore them now that they're injured."

An elderly voice sounded from nearby.

Chen Mo turned to see Professor Zhou approaching with a group of researchers.

"Thank you for your hard work, Xiao Mo."

"It's nothing."

Chen Mo waved it off casually.

Then his gaze was drawn to several Rhyhorn and Tauros lying on stretchers.

Their injuries were especially severe—even worse than those sustained by the wild Pokémon coalition that had fought Suicune.

Noticing Chen Mo's gaze, Professor Zhou spoke with a strange expression.

"Xiao Mo… are you sure the Chansey line isn't good at fighting?"

"Huh?"

Chen Mo froze.

In theory, while the Chansey line leaned toward support and healing, they could still learn quite a number of offensive moves.

However—

Their base stat distribution was extrely skewed.

Take Blissey, their final evolution: total base stats of 540, with 255 in HP alone. The rest? Attack: 10, Defense: 10, Special Attack: 75, Special Defense: 135, Speed: 55.

With just 10 Attack and 75 Special Attack, saying they weren't suited for combat was perfectly reasonable.

But clearly, Professor Zhou was implying sothing.

"What happened?"

A mont later—

Chen Mo stared at the phone screen, confused.

In the footage, the pink "little angels" stood in front of a town, facing a combined charge from Rhyhorn and Tauros.

They tried to resolve the conflict in the gentlest way possible.

Holding hands, they swayed their bodies, as if performing sothing.

"What are they doing?"

the man in the white coat asked, puzzled.

"Sing."

Chen Mo recognized it imdiately.

"It's a support move commonly learned by the Chansey line. The effect is simple—it uses a soothing lody to put listeners to sleep."

The man nodded.

However—

For Rhyhorn and Tauros, who had already lost their rationality and were acting purely on instinct, the song had no calming effect.

The two species, both known for their speed, surged forward like they were competing.

Soon, one Tauros charged ahead and reached the Chansey line's defense.

Without hesitation—

With a powerful impact, a pink Chansey was sent flying by the frenzied Tauros.

Chen Mo frowned slightly.

At that mont—

The Blissey that had been directing the group suddenly flashed forward. With a swift motion of its short arms, it unleashed a golden Focus Blast, striking the Tauros head-on.

The charging Tauros was instantly flipped over, dragged across the ground for more than ten ters before finally stopping.

Then—

Its body twitched once, and it fell completely still.

Clearly, it had lost the ability to fight.

Realizing that gentler thods wouldn't work, the Chansey group's aura suddenly changed.

Two Chansey rushed to treat their injured companion, while the rest, along with the two leading Blissey, joined hands again and opened their mouths wide.

A harsh, grating noise suddenly erupted from the phone.

The man in the white coat winced, covering his ears.

"What is that?!"

"Echoed Voice."

Chen Mo explained quickly.

"Another move commonly learned by the Chansey line. It's a bit more complex, but simply put—its power increases with consecutive use."

In the gas, Echoed Voice started at 40 power but increased by 40 each turn, up to a maximum of 200.

Reality wasn't turn-based, so its exact chanics still needed testing.

But—

With so many Chansey using it together…

From the increasingly pained expressions of the Rhyhorn and Tauros, it was obvious they were suffering. Their speed slowed more and more.

Occasionally, a few stronger individuals broke through the sound barrier and reached the Chansey line—

Only to be t by the two waiting Blissey.

These two showed no rcy, using a variety of moves to beat down any Pokémon that got through.

"Pink demons…"

Chen Mo muttered, looking at the unconscious, battered Tauros and Rhyhorn.

"What?"

The man in the white coat didn't catch it over the noise.

"Nothing."

Chen Mo shook his head and turned off the video.

There was no need to keep watching.

Looking at the Chansey cheerfully chanting "lucky~ lucky~" while pushing Tauros and Rhyhorn into the dical station, Chen Mo fell silent.

Normally, they looked like angels—healing the wounded and saving lives.

But once angered…

One had to be prepared for angels to beco demons.

Still—

Watching this Chansey group reminded Chen Mo of Milotic from Chengying Lake.

That one was usually gentle and kind as well—but if provoked, the nearly beaten-to-death Gyarados was proof of what it could do.

"I wonder if Milotic is still in Chengying Lake…"

Chen Mo recalled—

When the Unown P had appeared, it was Milotic who first noticed and erged from the lake, watching as Chen Mo took the Unown away.

But when Chen Mo later looked back before heading to the disaster site—

Milotic had already disappeared.

"…During this incident, although we humans didn't suffer many losses, many wild Pokémon ford conflicts while fleeing. Right now, several of our camps are working with the Chansey line to bring injured wild Pokémon back for treatnt. Over the next few days, our work will likely focus on rescuing them."

Professor Zhou paused, then smiled at Chen Mo.

"Speaking of which, the two Pokémon you t at Chengying Lake helped us a lot. Without them stepping in to stop conflicts, we wouldn't have been able to save so many wild Pokémon."

"Huh?"

Chen Mo blinked.

"You an Milotic and Gyarados?"

"Exactly."

Professor Zhou nodded and sent another video.

From an aerial view—

A large brown bear Pokémon was engaged in a fierce battle with several raccoon-like creatures in the forest.

The commotion was intense.

The bear's imnse strength toppled even thick trees, sending dust into the air.

"Ursaring… Zigzagoon…"

Chen Mo recognized them.

Though he couldn't use Insight Eye, he knew that Zigzagoon tended to mark their territory, and Ursaring did as well—especially around trees bearing fruit.

It didn't take much to figure it out.

The crystallization disaster had likely forced one side to relocate, leading to a territorial conflict.

Just as the battle reached its peak—

A graceful, slender figure darted through the forest like a streak of light, positioning itself between the two sides.

Before either could react—

Soft pink waves radiated outward, enveloping the enraged Pokémon.

Soon, confusion replaced their anger.

Hovering gracefully in the air, Milotic watched until both sides cald down—then swiftly left the drone's view.

The scene changed.

Next was Gyarados.

If one only looked at the result, it was indeed stopping conflicts.

But unlike Milotic—

Its thods were far more brutal.

It simply beat both sides into submission.

Combined with its overwhelming strength and Intimidate ability, it was slower than Milotic—but just as effective.

"…"

Chen Mo didn't know what to say.

Judging by Gyarados's annoyed expression, it didn't seem like it was doing this out of goodwill.

As for Milotic…

Thinking back on the journey—

Aside from the mysterious legendary Pokémon and the Unown, the two beings Chen Mo couldn't fully understand were Milotic and—

Sceptile, who had left the ruins with him and then departed on its own.

Both shared three traits:

They were extrely powerful—Milotic could dominate the lake's Gyarados, and Sceptile could even contend with the replicated Suicune.

They weren't native to this region—Sceptile had even confird this itself.

And—

Based on their actions during the disaster, it felt like they had been guided here, specifically to help.

Then there were the Unown who revived the sixteen soldiers.

Chen Mo had already contacted the ruins. The Unown there confird that those who revived the humans were not part of their usual group.

This only deepened his suspicion.

Could the Unown, Milotic, and Sceptile have been sent by Ho-Oh—or even Suicune—to assist?

No matter how he looked at it—

From the available clues, Ho-Oh—who seed to have used the Unown to save lives—and Suicune—who had issued warnings before the disaster—

Were both deeply tied to this event.

Standing within a fog of uncertainty, Chen Mo couldn't help but wonder—

What roles were these two legendary Pokémon truly playing in all of this?
