Natsui slept until after four in the afternoon.
When he woke up, Koharu didn't tell him about what had happened with Goh. After all, Koharu was kind-hearted and never made fun of others. Besides, it was just a small incident, and for Goh, it was undoubtedly a disaster. There was no need to build soone else's happiness on his suffering.
Most importantly, Goh was her childhood friend, and she didn't want the relationship between him and Natsui to beco strained.
But in the end, Natsui still found out about the incident from Gengar.
After recounting the events, Gengar chuckled. "I also really wanted to teach that arrogant kid a lesson at the ti, but unfortunately, Gyarados beat to it."
Natsui didn't care much about this.
If he got scared, he got scared.
After all, that person was Goh. No matter what he said or did, no matter how outrageous, it wouldn't be surprising, nor would it make people have higher expectations of his behavior.
Consider it a little lesson for his big mouth.
After a leisurely afternoon, and after dinner, Koharu brought so snacks to Natsui's dorm room.
The two drank tea, ate snacks, and chatted. Natsui told her a few interesting stories from his recent travels and showed her so photos. It wasn't until eight o'clock at night, when her mother called for the third ti to urge her to co ho, that she reluctantly left.
And the next morning, before Natsui had even had breakfast, she appeared at the Sakuragi Institute again.
This made Professor Sakuragi give a wry smile.
This girl! She usually doesn't even co to the institute once a week, but she's been running here so diligently these past two days.
After a night's rest, Natsui was fully recovered. He also knew that he had delayed for too long and that it was ti to leave.
He said his farewells to Professor Sakuragi's group and the reluctant Koharu, and set off on his journey once again.
But before leaving, he left Gyarados here.
As he had said before, Gyarados's strength could no longer be improved at this point. It was better to have it preside over Sakuragi Park and give the opportunity to other Pokémon.
…
Outside Cerulean City, to the north, on Nugget Bridge.
As a well-known pedestrian bridge, Nugget Bridge was famous for its unique structure, its spherical decorations, its wide view, and the golden light that reflected off it when the sun shone down.
After leaving Vermilion City, Natsui ca directly here.
After much thought, before leaving Kanto, he had decided to first co and find wtwo to reconnect.
But he didn't rember exactly where wtwo was hiding. He could only rely on his mory to search around here and see if he could get lucky.
Walking onto the bridge, Natsui looked into the distance and saw the river flowing quietly beneath his feet, its surface shimring. Together with the lush green forests on both sides, it ford a beautiful landscape.
It's so refreshing.
He was in a good mood and took a few photos. However, just as he was halfway across, a few people suddenly ran out from the side and blocked his path.
Looking closely, he saw that they were five young boys and girls.
The oldest of them was no more than 15 or 16, and the youngest was only about 7 or 8. From their clothes, they could be broadly categorized as a schoolgirl, a boy with a bug net, and a little boy with a cap. At this mont, each of them had a Pokémon by their side and was giving Natsui a aningful smile.
Natsui stopped in his tracks, his gaze sweeping over their faces one by one.
"Can I help you with sothing?"
The leader of the five was a boy in green clothes and a green hat with a red scarf. He sized Natsui up and took a step forward.
"My na is Kichi. These are my friends: Ami, Shin, Saya, and Kento. From your clothes, you must be a trainer, right? Then have a battle with us!"
His tone left no room for refusal, and his move to block the path was so practiced, his words so smooth, that he must have stopped many people like this before.
Natsui sighed and said calmly, "If I say I'm not in the mood for a battle right now, will you let pass?"
"That's impossible!" Hearing Natsui's words, the youngest, the boy with the bug net, shouted, "As a trainer, how can you back down from a battle? If you don't agree, you can forget about crossing this bridge!"
Natsui shook his head helplessly.
Although he had never t them before, since they had t on this bridge, and his mory was jogged, he had so impression of these five.
In fact, in the gas, these five could be considered typical experience fodder. He never thought he would actually et them in the real world.
The thought flashed through his mind, and he glanced at their Pokémon again.
Sandslash, Persian, Arcanine, Golduck, and Venomoth—all the final forms of their respective species.
It seems a battle is unavoidable.
Just then, the schoolgirl seed to have noticed sothing. She pointed at Natsui's face and exclaid, "Wait! I know him! Isn't he the champion of the Indigo Conference!?"
Hearing her say this, the others finally realized how familiar Natsui looked.
In the Kanto region, Natsui's current reputation was extrely high, almost on par with the Elite Four. Even if they didn't recognize him at first glance, after looking for a while, they could recall that this person was the champion of the Indigo Conference.
Especially during the final match, the advertisents and promotions about Natsui had been everywhere, spreading throughout the entire Kanto region.
"It really is him!"
They exclaid in surprise and wanted to say sothing more, but Natsui didn't want to waste any more ti with them. He directly released three Pokémon: Dragonair, Larvitar, and Scyther.
"If you want to fight, then co at all at once. I'm in a hurry."
With that, with a wave of his hand, his three Pokémon had already charged forward.
And seeing Natsui attack, the five of them quickly commanded their Pokémon to fight back.
Bang, bang, bang!
The eight Pokémon clashed on the bridge. Fortunately, the bridge was built very sturdily, and after a few minutes of fighting, it wasn't damaged at all.
And when the smoke from the moves slowly cleared, looking at the battlefield again, they found that all five of their Pokémon had already fainted. As for Natsui's three Pokémon, apart from Larvitar, which had taken so light damage, the other two were just panting slightly.
Natsui whistled and walked past them without a second glance, and his Pokémon quickly followed him.
Watching Natsui's receding figure, and then looking at their fainted Pokémon, the boy in the green hat said in disbelief, "So… so strong! Is this the strength of a champion? With just three Pokémon, he defeated all of us!"
The schoolgirl also murmured, "I can't believe we got to battle a champion! Although we were completely crushed, at least we can say we fought against a champion. If word gets out, it'll be great for our reputation!"
