Ariana's idea was a good one, in theory.
To surround them, Natsui's Pokémon were all spread out and at a distance from him. None of them could reach him in ti to help.
And the power of a Tyranitar's Hyper Beam was undeniably imnse. If it hit Natsui, it would absolutely vaporize him, leaving not even a speck of dust behind.
But what she didn't know was why, out of so many Pokémon involved in the takedown, only a single Gengar had remained by Natsui's side.
The Hyper Beam shot towards Natsui, its terrifying energy seeming to warp the very air around it.
Faced with such an attack, Natsui didn't flinch, seemingly unconcerned for his own safety.
Seeing Natsui neither dodge nor move, a vicious smile spread across Ariana's face.
What an ignorant fool!
You'll soon regret your arrogance!
No, you probably won't even have ti to regret it!
The Hyper Beam grew closer, reaching him in an instant. He could almost feel the heatwave from the beam.
In truth, if he could have, Natsui would have liked to dodge the attack himself. But the power and range of a Hyper Beam were enormous, and its speed was incredible. How could a re human body possibly dodge it in ti?
In that split second, Gengar flashed and suddenly appeared in front of Natsui. At the sa ti, with a wicked cackle, Gengar ford a Shadow Ball and threw it at the Hyper Beam without hesitation.
BOOM!
The mont the Shadow Ball and Hyper Beam collided, they exploded.
A massive burst of energy radiated outward from the center of the explosion. A brilliant flash of light engulfed the Pokémon in an instant.
The shockwave blew Ariana's hair back, and she instinctively shielded her face with her arm. When the light faded, she quickly looked towards Natsui and saw him still standing there, completely unhard.
The aftershock of the explosion had been completely blocked by Gengar. He hadn't suffered a single scratch.
Damn it!
Ariana knew Natsui had a Gengar of unfathomable strength, but she never imagined it was this powerful. It could even block a Hyper Beam!
These were not moves of equal power!
A Hyper Beam was strong enough to pulverize rock. Trees and buildings would be lted away before it.
And yet, it was canceled out by such a small Shadow Ball.
She found it absolutely unbelievable.
This is so strong it's cheating!
The sound of the explosion seed to guide the distant police cars. The sirens grew louder and closer, and with a screech of tires, several police cars drove into the clearing and stopped at the edge of the battlefield.
Looker and Erika were the first to get out. Before they could get a clear view of the situation, they saw two flashes of red light, as if sothing had been recalled into a Poké Ball by Natsui.
Without a second thought, Looker hurried to Natsui's side. Seeing him safe and sound, he breathed a sigh of relief.
He then turned his gaze to the battlefield and saw that Natsui's Pokémon had Archer and Ariana surrounded, which made him smile even wider.
"Just as I'd expect from you. You actually caught them!"
Natsui shook his head. "'Caught' is a bit premature, but I do have them trapped."
Erika also walked over to Natsui, but she didn't care about Team Rocket. The first thing she did was look Natsui over from head to toe.
"Are you alright?"
Natsui smiled. "What could happen to ? If anyone's in trouble, it's these two."
"That's good. Seeing that explosion just now, I was really worried about you."
The more ti he spent with her, the more Natsui felt that Erika would make a wonderful wife and mother soday.
By now, a large number of police officers had surrounded the area. With a wave of Natsui's hand, his Pokémon slowly pulled back, and the officers' Pokémon imdiately took their places.
The rest could be left to Looker and his team. He was no longer needed.
Natsui took a few steps back and stood with Erika to watch how things unfolded.
Looker looked at Archer and Ariana and said in a low voice, "Team Rocket, you should surrender. At this point, you can't escape."
But even in such a dire situation, the two Rocket mbers did not choose to give up. They commanded their Pokémon to attack again. However, facing a superior number of elite officers, even a powerful Pokémon like Tyranitar was slowly defeated.
Golbat and Kabutops fell.
Lickitung and Vileplu also ran out of stamina.
Finally, when Sneasel and Persian were subdued by the officers' Pokémon, the two Rocket executives had no ans of resistance left.
The officers sward in and put handcuffs on their wrists.
Seeing the dust settle, Natsui felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his chest.
It's finally over...
Without their Pokémon, even executives were just ordinary people.
Although he still didn't know what had gone wrong between Giovanni and his top four executives, with Archer, Ariana, and Proton now captured, Team Rocket's power was undoubtedly cut in half.
The days of being ambushed by Team Rocket were likely gone for good, and the reclusive Giovanni would no longer be a problem for him.
It seed that, aside from Giovanni still being at large, everything was heading towards a happy conclusion.
After the two executives were loaded into the police cars, Looker gave a few more orders. Once everything was done, he ca back to Natsui.
"Natsui, my friend, thank you so much for your help today."
Natsui waved his hand lazily. With their relationship, being overly polite would just seem distant.
Looker glanced at Erika, cleared his throat, and then put an arm around Natsui's shoulder, pulling him aside.
"Ahem, Natsui, my friend. Your Pokémon are incredibly strong, and it seems nothing is too difficult for them, which is very admirable. But I have to give you a piece of advice. While Miss Erika is a wonderful person, Miss Sabrina is also a very fine woman. Don't try to play both sides, or you might end up with nothing."
For Looker, Natsui was not only a trustworthy friend but also a kindred spirit, especially popular with the ladies. He didn't want to see his friend get into trouble with his relationships.
Hearing Looker's words, Natsui felt a bit awkward. He never thought Looker would be worrying about his love life. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
But even though he said that, Natsui himself hadn't figured out how to handle his relationship with Erika.
He couldn't possibly bring himself to abandon her. To say he had no feelings for her would be lying to himself.
But if he followed his heart and accepted Erika's feelings, where would that leave Sabrina?
Sigh, what a headache.
