Now reading: Chapter 225: Groudon: Stupid fish can do it, I can do it too from Pokémon:Son of Giovanni, a Action novel by NovelExplorer.

"Roar!!"

little Rayquaza's draconic bellow shakes the sky in anger.

But Damian almost breaks character, thinking: how could that little Rayquaza shout "A non‑flying Groudon is beating up!" so confidently.

Never mind. As long as Shiny Rayquaza shows up, that's enough.

Damian glances at Black Kyurem, which is still chasing Primal Kyogre; Primal Kyogre can only respond in a miserable fashion.

Bottom line: Primal Kyogre is at a huge disadvantage against Black Kyurem; there aren't many moves that can actually battle Black Kyurem.

Ice‑beam and Blizzard can beat Rayquaza, but against Black Kyurem there's hardly anything useful.

And over here for Primal Groudon …

"Giovanni."

"Huh?"

"Should we retreat first? Rayquaza can't be played with."

Primal Groudon communicates with Giovanni via Telepathy, feeling Grand Larceny by that little Rayquaza.

It thinks little Rayquaza is shaless.

If you fight, you fight; if you can't win, you call it flying? Since you're nothing like that.

But to be fair, Primal Groudon felt that this little Rayquaza's father, Shiny Rayquaza, was quite intimidating.

" … "

Giovanni falls silent.

"Groudon, are you scared? " Giovanni's lips curl slightly as he speaks to Primal Groudon.

"Huh? Giovanni, do you think I'm the kind of Pokémon who bluffs and runs away?" Primal Groudon snaps.

"Kyogre has beaten a Shiny ga Rayquaza before."

Giovanni doesn't answer directly, hinting at sothing he might or might not be implying.

"Impossible! Fat‑headed fish … it can't be Shiny ga Rayquaza's opponent."

Primal Groudon, one of the ancient Legendary, knows ga Rayquaza far better than they do.

It's on par with Primal Kyogre; ga Rayquaza's strength is far greater than either.

Primal Kyogre beat ga Rayquaza? Or the shiny Caterpie one?

Primal Groudon doesn't want to believe Rayquaza could have evolved from a Caterpie, but when Giovanni smiles and stays silent, his eyes widen.

Could it really be? Last ti fat‑headed fish was talking big too, but it didn't fly—so maybe it was just boasting.

"Really?"

"I saw it with my own eyes."

"!!!"

Primal Groudon's face reddens; it's angry.

"What the hell does that prove?!"

Wait—perhaps that shiny Rayquaza isn't actually stronger?

Suddenly the idea hits: maybe that Shiny Rayquaza is only slightly stronger than this little Rayquaza.

After all these thousands of years, the one that beat it and Primal Kyogre was ga Rayquaza with green color, not Shiny.

"I get it now, I completely understand!"

Primal Groudon rises in confidence.

"Giovanni, you keep watching. The fat‑headed fish can do things I can do too!"

Groudon raises its head high, declaring to its human partner with pride.

"I'll beat that shiny Rayquaza too!"

Having just defeated the little Rayquaza, Groudon is brimming with confidence.

Rayquaza, after all, isn't unbeatable!

"Groudon, don't push yourself." Giovanni freezes.

He's trying to prevent Groudon from pushing too hard; he understands what's at stake.

"I'm not pushing at all! Today I will shatter the shackles!"

Primal Groudon radiates confidence.

" … "

Seeing this, Giovanni stops trying to persuade him and ponders how to comfort Groudon later back in Lacunosa Town.

"Why is there snow mixed with rain here?"

In a nearby inn in Lacunosa Town, Hilda stands by the window, staring at the increasingly grim weather; heavy rain mixed with snowflakes falls.

The temperature is dropping; Hilda pulls her coat tighter.

"Hmm… this doesn't look right."

Hilda tilts her head, looking at the accumulating water; Lacunosa Town isn't particularly low-lying, so the rain water flows outward.

Unova League's old site.

"It seems Champion Alder and the others aren't much either."

Colress smiles faintly as he taunts Alder and Wallace, who are bound together.

"Damn it!"

Wallace grits his teeth, feeling utterly humiliated.

He never imagined this researcher could be so strong.

Not you, what kind of researcher are you?

Actually, after Leon's Cinderace protected Wallace from Glaciate, Colress's ga tagross turned around, and Cinderace could only concede.

"I didn't expect I'd see this day."

Alder sighs; as Unova Champion, he's embarrassed to be captured on the battlefield.

Colress, having no good answers, looks toward Zinnia and Steven in the distance, still fighting fiercely.

"Seems these two are the weakest assigned to ."

Damn!

Wallace and Alder hear this and look constipated.

But elsewhere, Caitlin seems on the back foot; Leon isn't facing her; Cynthia is pressuring N.

The situation is advantageous for them; Leon appears in control.

"It seems we should help as well." Colress narrows his eyes.

As a colleague, he should lend a hand.

Colress hesitates for a mont between Caitlin and Leon, then rushes toward Caitlin and Leon's battlefield.

"Senior Alder, we can't just sit here and wait!" Wallace says determinedly.

"Wallace, can you handle this?" Alder's eyes flash.

They aren't completely unable to fight; they're just bound and cannot draw Poké Balls, but their other roster remains.

"Of course!" Wallace exclaims with confidence, waiting for Colress to join.

Alder's expression tightens with anticipation.

Then …

Wallace clears his throat and calls out to Cynthia from afar.

"Cynthia! Help us!"

Wallace's shout cuts through the commotion again.

Alder sighs, recognizing that this is his chosen person; Leon is currently one against two; he can't be distracted.

Steven's battle is intense; Giovanni is too far away to hear.

Only Cynthia can respond.

Cynthia, sensing a shift in the battle, glances back and nearly loses her balance at seeing Wallace and Alder bound.

She hesitates, then turns and sees the two of them bound.

But at this mont, a loud dominating presence draconic bellow echoes from Above the sky.

A long black dragon silhouette speeds in from the distance.

"Holy crap! It's that Rayquaza!" Wallace exclaims in surprise upon seeing the scene.

There's no doubt about it! He can't forget that mont.

The dark sky, the ruined city, the swirling winds—it's a scene as if the apocalypse Descends.

And the perpetrator is this Shiny Rayquaza!

"Rayquaza?" Alder frowns.

Roar!

Another high-pitched draconic bellow.

The Black Kyurem, which has been chasing Primal Kyogre, seems to sense sothing, stops its form, lifts its head, and its fierce dragon eyes look toward the sky.

A gorgeous, incomparable Shiny Rayquaza arrives above, releasing its enormous and heavy Dragon aura without regard, and its imposing, dominating presence's dragon eyes now also gaze at Black Kyurem.

Shiny ga Rayquaza!

Black Kyurem's dragon eyes flash with a cruel light; the arrival is not good news.

Shiny Rayquaza surveys the scene quickly, finally settling its vision on Damian.

"Father!"

little Rayquaza quickly flies to Shiny Rayquaza's side, keeping its head low and looking very well-behaved.

Shiny Rayquaza tilts a glance at little Rayquaza, its dangerous eyes eting Black Kyurem's.

"humans, what's this all about? How did you ss with Kyurem?"

Shiny Rayquaza connects to Damian via Telepathy, asking in a deep voice.

"It wants to swallow my Reshiram, so I'm asking Rayquaza to help."

"humans, Kyurem isn't easy to deal with."

Shiny Rayquaza can't help but be speechless; last ti it was itself, now in a different region it's Kyurem again?

Though Shiny Rayquaza isn't afraid of Kyurem, as an opponent, it's certainly not easy to deal with, especially since this Black Kyurem seems stronger than it appeared in its impression.

"Rayquaza, I've always believed you're stronger than Kyurem; you won't fear it, right?"

Damian smiles.

"Besides, I've been taking care of your kid for a while."

"Don't hype up, humans," Shiny Rayquaza shoots a glance at Damian.

It knows very well that Damian is trying to psych it up.

"You taking care of the kid ans when you et an opponent you can't deal with, you'll call for help, right?"

Hearing this, Shiny Rayquaza can't help but laugh.

That's taking care of the kid?

"Rayquaza, you're being a bit too formal; we'll be teammates eventually, I want to show you off a bit in advance, and Kyurem would be a good test subject, right?"

Damian's smile is harmonious; he won't admit he has "taken in" little Rayquaza; eighty percent is because little Rayquaza has such powerful dragon parents.

"Tsk, you humans, I never agreed to be your partner."

Shiny Rayquaza can't help but click its tongue.

These humans have thick skin indeed.

But Shiny Rayquaza doesn't hate it; after all, Damian is a capable human.

In just a while, this human's strength has grown a lot.

"It's only a matter of ti," Damian replies without hesitation.

"So Rayquaza, will you help us?"

Shiny Rayquaza, its dragon body as jet-black as night, twists and reorients into a stance more suitable for battle, head lowered, dragon eyes gradually sharpening with battle intent.

"Roar!"

Shiny Rayquaza unleashes a dominating presence draconic bellow toward Black Kyurem, battle-cry high.

"As you wish!"

Hearing Shiny Rayquaza's reply, Damian's lips curl upward.

Black Kyurem also roars back without showing weakness.

Even if Rayquaza is sky‑dragon, so what? Kyurem is the strongest dragon! It loves to fight Dragon‑type Pokémon!

Two top‑tier legendaries stand off in the air, a surging, heavy Dragon aura filling the sky, sending chills down the spine.

"Shiny Rayquaza is coming, Groudon, go and challenge it!"

Giovanni's teasing voice, full of smiles, echoes in Primal Groudon's heart.
