Challenging Gyms and earning Badges—

that entire process is officially recorded by the League.

In other words, there is a clear difference in status between a trainer who holds one Badge and one who holds eight.

The League doesn't maintain a strict, unified standard for asuring strength.

At most, there are titles like Elite Four mber, Champion, or League Conference Champion.

But those are more positions and honors than concrete power levels.

Simply put, Champions from different regions can't be judged by the sa yardstick.

Take the Alola region as an example.

Even if they selected an Elite Four and a regional Champion, could their strength truly compare to soone like Cynthia or Steven Stone?

Obviously not.

That's why the League introduced the Badge system.

Through the League Conference pathway, trainers embark on a Gym challenge journey and undergo trials set by Gym Leaders.

Gym Leaders adjust the difficulty of their tests based on the trainer's strength and the number of Badges already obtained.

Generally speaking, a trainer who earns eight Badges has developed the ability to stand on their own.

In Sora's terminology:

That's an elite trainer.

Soone like Brock—who can achieve respectable results in tournants—falls into that category.

Among all trainers, elite trainers probably make up only about 5% to 10% of the population.

And only after reaching that level can a trainer realistically support both themselves and their Pokémon through competitions and related activities.

"My goal," Sora continued,

"is to gather six powerful partners, then choose a League to challenge and ultimately win the Conference."

"Ponéao!"

"Bini~"

The mont Sora ntioned building a team, Ogerpon and Victini imdiately raised their hands.

Lilligant reacted a beat later—but then raised both hands.

Well.

That made it a tie.

"Your enthusiasm makes happy," Sora said, scratching his cheek awkwardly.

"But setting Ponpon aside for a mont—V, it'll probably be hard for you to compete in official matches."

"Bini?"

"How should I put this…"

"The League Conference gets massive publicity. If people happen to see you in daily life, that's one thing."

"But if Victini appears on a televised League stage, broadcast across regions…"

He paused.

"Then every criminal organization in the world will learn that I have the Victory Pokémon."

Victini was too special.

An infinite source of pure energy—no villainous organization would ignore such a miracle.

So until Sora possessed the strength to truly protect her, she couldn't appear publicly.

"Bini…"

Seeing Victini's mood drop, Sora quickly reassured her.

"It's only the tournant stage we're talking about."

Right now, Lilligant alone ranked among the strongest ordinary Pokémon.

Add the newly joined Ponpon—

In one-on-one battles, Sora was confident he could even defeat Elite Four-level teams from various regions.

But criminal organizations didn't fight fair.

They attacked in groups—dozens, sotis hundreds—and they weren't above targeting trainers directly instead of Pokémon.

Sora might survive once or twice.

But eventually, luck could run out.

As the saying goes:

It's not the thief you catch that worries you—it's the one watching and waiting.

If danger could be avoided, it should be avoided.

"At this stage, our team is still in Phase One."

"In Phase One, our guiding principle is to grow quietly and accumulate strength in secret."

He continued:

"I plan to build two separate teams. One will consist of legendary Pokémon—like you, V, and you, Ponpon."

Hearing they were included, the two imdiately perked up with excitent.

Strictly speaking, Ogerpon and Victini belonged to different classifications.

Victini was a Mythical Pokémon.

As for Ponpon…

Her base stats totaled only 550, which wasn't particularly high—even so ordinary Pokémon surpassed that.

Another example was Urshifu from the Galar region.

But a Pokémon's combat ability couldn't be judged solely by base stats.

For Pokémon of this category, the official classification system was vague.

In fan communities, people sotis used terms like "minor legendary" or "secondary legendary."

In the real Pokémon world, however, Sora had never heard such labels.

Instead, based on his own energy-level theory:

A so-called "secondary legendary" would be a Pokémon naturally capable of breaking limits—reaching level 80 or higher.

In addition, these Pokémon possessed stamina and energy reserves far beyond ordinary species.

Endurance.

That was the one stat gas never truly represented.

In gas, HP functioned more like health points.

But in reality, every action—fighting, dodging, using moves—consud stamina.

The stronger the legendary Pokémon, the deeper their stamina pool.

Ogerpon had chased down the Loyal Three, defeated them with a few strikes, and even left Pecharunt psychologically scarred.

That alone proved how terrifying her combat potential was.

With proper training, she could absolutely beco the core of Sora's second team—no weaker than so high-stat legendaries that lacked real battle instincts.

"And then there's the other team."

"Lilligant."

Sora looked at her.

"Your job is to build our reputation and gather resources before Team Two fully matures."

"Lilligant~~"

She didn't fully understand—but whatever Sora said, she accepted.

"Excellent. That's the spirit."

He cleared his throat and continued:

"For Team One, my plan is to find Pokémon with strong potential and use V's infinite energy to help them grow rapidly."

This kind of growth had no side effects.

In fact, it was highly beneficial.

Just look at Lilligant.

She had once been an ordinary Petilil with average potential—yet now she had a realistic chance of surpassing level 70, a height most ordinary Pokémon could never reach.

"Once we obtain official League status, we'll be able to make serious money."

Supporting a team was expensive, and Sora had thought deeply about it.

He had considered saving enough funds to buy a farm or ranch and develop it gradually.

But in the Pokémon world, that path wasn't nearly as profitable as on Earth.

As ntioned before:

Only Pokémon-related products counted as luxury goods.

Ordinary crops sold for very little.

And resources produced by Pokémon—like Moomoo Milk—were controlled by tightly regulated supply chains.

An outsider like Sora would find it extrely difficult to enter that industry.

Even if he managed to secure a foothold, the ti and effort required would far outweigh the returns.

If only so wealthy patron decided to sponsor …

Of course, that was just wishful thinking.

Sora had confidence in his looks—but wealthy patrons in the Pokémon world rarely chose based on appearance alone.

In the end, it all ca back to the sa solution:

Demonstrate real ability.

Which ant returning to the original plan—

Build a powerful team.

Challenge the League.

Make a na for himself.

Once that happened, whether within the League or in any region he traveled to, Sora would thrive.
