Now reading: Chapter 60 60: Gardevoir: I Was Terrified Back Then from Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon, a Action novel by YonkoSlayer.

Take Gardevoir, for example.

She saw herself as Princess Kimia's protector.

So even if she didn't fight for years—or even an entire lifeti—the energy within her body would remain active, always ready for battle.

Likewise, if a Pokémon fell into a deep slumber but still believed itself to be a warrior, it would not grow weaker simply because ti passed.

Among all dosticated Pokémon, the one Ogerpon knew best was Sora's Lilligant.

The total energy inside Lilligant was far greater than Gardevoir's.

A level 62 Pokémon versus a Lilligant approaching level 70— they were technically in the sa tier, but the gap was still obvious.

However, when it ca to energy purity, the two were not even comparable.

If Lilligant's energy purity was about 70%, then Gardevoir's was 95%, perhaps even higher.

That wasn't strange.

Lilligant's growth had relied heavily on Victini's support.

And in the past, Sora hadn't had enough money to provide her with the very best training.

To improve energy purity, good food alone wasn't enough.

It required specialized training to remove impurities from the energy, allowing a Pokémon to control its power more precisely.

This is too strange.

According to the theories Sora had taught her, Gardevoir's existence was highly unusual.

A wild Pokémon simply could not possess such pure energy.

Whether energy was active or dormant could be influenced by a Pokémon's will.

But purity depended on consistent, high-quality care and training.

"She's a Trainer's Pokémon."

Ogerpon stared suspiciously at Gardevoir, unsure of her origins.

The small Pokémon glanced around, seemingly searching for Kimia.

If the Pokémon was here, then her Trainer had to be nearby.

Up there?

Or over there?

Ogerpon was extrely sensitive to being watched.

Before, she hadn't cared enough to notice.

Now that she focused, she quickly detected two distinct gazes— ones very different from ordinary Pokémon.

Both Pecharunt and Ogerpon could draw strength from human emotions.

But Pecharunt leaned more toward desire.

"Curiosity… admiration…"

"Malice, malice, malice…"

One gaze was simple—like that of a normal Trainer who had spotted a rare and adorable Pokémon.

The other, however, made Ogerpon feel deeply uncomfortable.

There's a bad person here.

There's definitely a bad person.

She raised her head alertly.

In a place she couldn't see, Jarvis was staring back at her through a screen, his eyes eting the mask's gaze.

"What the hell?!"

Jarvis couldn't understand what was happening.

Was she looking at him?

That was impossible.

"Ponii!"

Ogerpon's sharp vision quickly locked onto the source.

It was a small floating reconnaissance drone—about the size of a fist—with a cara lens resembling an eye, transmitting everything to Jarvis.

"Annoying."

She didn't care who was behind it.

She simply picked up a stone from the ground, tossed it lightly into the air, then ford her Ivy Cudgel and swung.

The stone shot forward with terrifying force, wrapped in a violent gust of wind, and smashed the drone to pieces.

It was so fast the machine had no ti to react.

And judging by the sonic boom from the swing alone, the power behind the strike was unmistakable.

BZZZT—!

On the other side, Jarvis's monitor turned red, alarms blaring loudly.

"Damn it!"

He was furious.

He hadn't expected his surveillance to be detected by such a strange Pokémon.

And even worse—

That creature had dared to destroy his drone.

"A re Pokémon… how dare you…"

Jarvis trembled with rage.

To soone who viewed Pokémon as inferior beings, Ogerpon's action wasn't just defiance—

It was humiliation.

"Doka," he ordered imdiately, sending Ogerpon's data to the bounty hunter.

"Capture that creature."

Doka received the ssage, confused but obedient.

"What happened?" Yisha asked from the co-pilot seat of their aircraft.

"No idea," Doka replied.

He only cared about completing the mission.

Jarvis's anger was irrelevant to him.

anwhile, after destroying the hidden threat, Ogerpon felt refreshed and satisfied.

"Ponii…"

She turned her attention back to Gardevoir.

Her expression was calm—but it made Gardevoir flinch.

So strong…

This was the first ti Gardevoir had seen Ogerpon attack.

No flashy move.

No complex technique.

Just a stone launched with raw physical power.

Yet the sheer force of that casual strike sent chills down her spine.

This unfamiliar Pokémon—was absolutely not soone she could fight.

She swallowed nervously.

And she wasn't the only one thinking that.

Hidden in the shadows, Princess Kimia felt the sa fear.

Her heart was anything but calm.

The precision and destructive power Ogerpon had just displayed clearly showed she possessed the ability to eliminate her instantly.

If that attack had been aid at instead of the drone…

Kimia didn't even want to imagine how she could have defended against it.

If Gardevoir had been beside her, perhaps psychic power might have blocked the strike.

But—

She wasn't even sure her Gardevoir could stop it.

After all, that attack hadn't even been a direct hit from the Ivy Cudgel.

It was just a stone.

Most importantly, Ogerpon hadn't only noticed the drone.

If Kimia's instincts were correct, Ogerpon had glanced directly at her hiding spot earlier.

Was I discovered?

She couldn't believe it.

But she didn't dare gamble.

What if Ogerpon mistook her for a threat and attacked without hesitation?

I can't win.

Against sothing like that… I'd be killed.

Under Ogerpon's gaze, Gardevoir didn't dare move.

She stood obediently in place, allowing the small masked Pokémon to examine her.

"Are you a Trainer's Pokémon?"

Ogerpon's tone remained gentle.

She hadn't sensed any malice from Gardevoir.

As for Kimia's gaze—

Ogerpon wasn't a monster.

If soone simply observed her normally, even if she noticed, she wouldn't care.
