The Master Ball clicked shut.
Clear.
Crisp.
Decisive.
Just like that, the last-arriving steel dragon—the Temporal Deity, Dialga—beca the first of the twin gods to be captured by Aiden.
No one knew what Dialga had seen in the future.
But whatever it was, it had returned obedient, respectful—even enthusiastic.
Giratina and Palkia were both visibly curious.
Once they all belonged to Aiden, they would definitely interrogate this gossip-loving ti dragon properly.
"Ding! Dialga's Affection increased. Current Affection: 225."
Aiden blinked.
That was absurdly high.
Even higher than Giratina's jump.
What exactly did it see?
He didn't dwell on it.
The future only mattered if the present was seized.
Then—
His gaze shifted to Palkia.
Now only one legendary remained unclaid.
Palkia t his eyes.
Its pride had not faded.
"Battle ."
"Defeat , and I will follow you."
Aiden smiled lightly.
"Pick your opponent."
Palkia scanned the field.
ga Rayquaza.
The black ga Rayquaza.
Giratina.
Dialga.
After a mont—
It chose Dialga.
If it had to lose, it would rather lose to its longti rival.
At least that would feel honest.
Aiden recalled the others, leaving only Dialga on the field.
Smart choice.
Among first-tier Legendaries, there were still differences in power.
Rayquaza and Giratina were clearly on the upper edge.
Dialga was the closest match in tier.
Red light flashed.
Dialga reappeared.
"Don't lose to it," Aiden said casually.
Dialga snorted.
"One-on-one? Since when would I fear it?"
Both dragons roared.
The battle resud.
"Dialga. Dragon Pulse."
A massive blue beam erupted.
Palkia responded instantly, firing its own attack.
Energy collided.
Mt. Coronet shook violently as the explosion ripped across the summit.
"Now—Roar of Ti!"
Temporal power flooded outward.
But Palkia was already prepared.
"Spacial Rend!"
Ti and space clashed.
Blue and violet tore into one another.
The collision ripped open a massive spatial crack in the sky.
Aiden's expression shifted.
Psychic power surged outward, forcibly stabilizing the fractured dinsion.
"Finish it. tal Burst."
Dialga charged forward—
But as it did, it transmitted privately to Palkia.
"Don't you want to know why I chose to follow him?"
Palkia froze for a fraction of a second.
That hesitation—
Was enough.
tal Burst detonated.
Palkia was blasted backward.
When it regained balance, its eyes flared.
"You did that on purpose!"
Dialga's tone was calm.
"I just need to look like I beat you fairly."
"Tell —"
"Do you want a higher divine rank?"
Palkia's gaze sharpened.
"You're saying… if we follow him, we can ascend further?"
Dialga smiled faintly.
"Yes."
"And you'd tell that… out of kindness?"
Dialga shrugged.
"Simple."
"Hoenn's Legendaries stick together. There are four of them. Two Rayquaza."
"If Sinnoh only has and Giratina, we'll be outnumbered."
"We need to band together."
Palkia fell silent.
After a long pause—
It suddenly let out a dramatic roar.
Its body wavered.
It spiraled downward, pretending to be heavily injured.
Dialga imdiately followed with another Roar of Ti for effect.
From a distance, it looked like total domination.
Aiden watched thoughtfully.
So that's how it is.
They were saving face.
Gods had pride.
Losing publicly hurt less if it looked real.
With a flick of psychic power, Aiden retrieved an unused Master Ball from the ruined League structure.
He threw it.
Red light engulfed Palkia.
There was no resistance.
Click.
Captured.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, for capturing Palkia!"
Aiden exhaled lightly.
"These guys… care way too much about their dignity."
High above Mt. Coronet—
Sinnoh's three dragons had all fallen under one trainer's command.
And the sky had never felt so small.
