Now reading: Chapter 222 - 0222: I Raised Togepi into a Homebody from Pokémon:Trainer's Gambit, a Action novel by NovelExplorer.

Piece by piece, the eggshell fell off the Pokémon egg.

The little ones held their breath, quietly watching the Pokémon egg on the child's chair.

Crack!

Two tiny claws poked out of the eggshell, waving adorably.

Togepi, top-heavy, toppled over on the chair, its round little feet kicking wildly.

Gengar tried to help Togepi, but Natsu stopped it.

"Don't panic."

Natsu pulled out his mobile phone and tapped

"Let's record a video first!"

After posting the video in the group chat, the chat group instantly lit up.

Natsu-sensei: [Video]

Yellow: So cute!

Lorelei: My girly heart~~

Crystal: It's hatching!

As 'The Hatcher,' Gold opened the video, slightly surprised.

"Is that the Togepi from Professor Elm's backyard?"

"Yeah."

Crystal nodded. "Professor was worried it might pick up bad habits from you, so he handed it over to Natsu-sensei."

Gold's heart sank, his face turning pale.

Darn it… I can't even argue with that!

"They say Togepi's eggshell is filled with good luck~~"

Green chuckled. "If you don't mind, I'd be happy to buy the fallen eggshells from you!"

"This isn't the ti to show off your rchant side…" Blue Oak facepald.

"Oh my… I actually have a few items suitable for newborn Pokémon…" Green blinked.

Brock coughed dryly. "Togepi will recognize the first Trainer it sees as its family."

"Being able to follow Natsu-sensei… is quite a fortunate thing, isn't it?"

Natsu was slightly taken aback.

He had originally planned to return Togepi to Professor Elm after it hatched.

But Brock's words struck a chord with him.

"Hurry up and hatch."

Natsu looked at the round eggshell and smiled. "Everyone's ready!"

"Sylveon~~"

Sylveon used its ribbon to prop Togepi upright, but it toppled over again.

After a few attempts, Togepi finally stood up.

Crack!

Togepi poked its head out of the eggshell.

Its body was covered in white eggshell, with round little hands and feet sticking out.

Togepi glanced at Natsu, blinking its bright eyes, and waved its tiny hands happily.

"Togepi doo-ee~"

Natsu was montarily stunned, then couldn't help but smile.

"Gengar~~"

Gengar grinned and reached out to Togepi.

Togepi tilted its head, grabbed Gengar's claw, and shook it excitedly.

"Togepi doo-ee~! (`▽`)" (Hello~~!)

"Looks healthy," Natsu smiled.

He had been worried that he might have negatively influenced Togepi.

But from the looks of it… I'm still more reliable than Gold!

Opening the Pokédex, Natsu scanned the data.

[Togepi, Fairy

Gender: ♀

Ability: Serene Grace

Moves: Charm, Growl, Present, trono]

Togepi is known as the 'heaven-blessed' little Pokémon.

A large part of that reputation cos from its 'Serene Grace' ability.

Moreover, Natsu thought to himself: With my face, it's hard to hatch one with the 'Super Luck' ability…

Natsu stroked his chin.

The moves were nothing special.

It inherited the 'Present' move and Togepi's signature 'trono.'

With the 'Serene Grace' ability, a King's Rock would be a suitable item for Togepi…

As Natsu was deep in thought.

The wobbly Togepi accidentally fell off the dining table, startling Natsu.

Coincidentally, Togepi landed right on Growlithe.

With a roll, it tumbled to the floor, happily kicking its little feet.

"Togepi doo-ee~~(≧ ≦)"

Natsu sighed in relief. "Good job, Growlithe!"

"Growlithe (O_o)??"

Growlithe's head was filled with question marks.

It fell on by itself…

I really didn't catch it!

Seeing Natsu's excited expression, Sylveon was initially a bit jealous.

But then it thought, having another helper would only further Trainer's path to victory.

So, Sylveon snorted and elegantly walked over to the hamster wheel.

The bulb at the top of the hamster wheel flickered.

Natsu opened the group chat.

The group was discussing the newly hatched Togepi.

"What kind of personality will the little Pokémon have?" Yellow wondered.

"It's better than Gold's Togebo," Silver said calmly.

"Hey! Togebo is cute too!" Gold shouted.

"By the way."

Crystal smiled. "Natsu-sensei's Togepi is Togebo's little brother or sister~"

"It's a sister," Natsu nodded. "I've already checked."

"Yay! Next ti, I'll ride Togebo over to visit!" Gold grinned.

Gold turned to Togebo and explained the situation.

Even the usually fierce Togebo nodded at Gold's words.

Fine… if it's for my little sister, I'll let you ride just this once!

anwhile.

Gengar was holding Togepi's tiny hand, showing it around the house.

Natsu called Professor Elm. "Professor, Togepi has hatched."

"Oh, really? Thank you so much!"

"Actually…" Natsu scratched his cheek, a bit embarrassed. "Can I catch Togepi?"

Togepi will recognize the first Trainer it sees as its family.

Perhaps, like Misty's Togepi, it will make its own choice when it grows up.

But until then, Natsu-sensei wanted to fulfill his role as a father figure.

"Of course!" Professor Elm laughed heartily. "Actually, I've been aning to ask you!"

As expected, Professor Elm thought.

As a Trainer recognized by Professor Rowan, this is his sense of responsibility!

Natsu was montarily stunned.

Wow… so you've been plotting this all along?

"They say if you treat it kindly, it will share its luck with its opponent."

Professor Elm said. "Thinking about it that way, Mr. Natsu, you must be a lucky person too!"

Natsu was slightly taken aback, his expression turning serious.

Is this the mont when luck and misfortune will be put to the test?

After hanging up, Natsu walked into the living room.

Seeing the scene inside, his expression suddenly changed.

Togepi was holding a large bottle of cola, chugging it down, with a few opened bags of chips in front of it.

"Gengar!!"

Gengar, like a worried parent, was pacing around the coffee table, its face pale.

"Togepi doo-ee~~!"

Togepi put down the cola, let out a long burp, and happily kicked its little feet.

Natsu: ???

Wow, so after raising it for over half a month, I've turned it into a hobody?!

Natsu put on a stern face, walked up to Togepi, and stared at the little one seriously.

"Togepi?" Togepi tilted its tiny head.

"No Pepsi."

Natsu swapped Togepi's drink for a Coca-Cola. "This is the right way!"
