"Ssssss!"

The lead Arbok felt a cloud of sand and dust hit it head-on, forcing it to interrupt Glare. Imdiately, it launched Acid to counter.

With a corrosive sound, the sand beca infused with poison and fell to the ground. The purple liquid splashed everywhere, covering the terrain.

When the sandstorm cleared, the lead Arbok looked ahead... and noticed that Sandslash had disappeared without a trace.

In that mont of confusion, the ground beside it suddenly cracked, and the bright red of Sandslash burst into its field of vision. Before it could react, it felt a brutal strike that sent it flying.

Boom!

Once again, the massive Arbok body collided with a tree, sliding slowly to the ground.

This ti, Sandslash's claws were imbued with the Ground-type energy of Dig, making it doubly effective against Arbok's Poison type.

Seeing the lead Arbok fly again, Absol blinked in surprise and turned its gaze to Ethan Black.

Absol was impressed: this human had recognized Arbok's move at a glance and responded instantly. He used Sand Attack to block vision and neutralize the effects of Glare, and under that cover, ordered Sandslash to use Dig for a surprise attack.

And to think the lead Arbok was stronger than Sandslash... yet under Ethan Black's direction, the mole dominated the battle completely!

However, to Ethan Black's surprise, the lead Arbok, even after taking two devastating hits, slowly got back up.

"Ssssss!"

This ti, it truly seed enraged.

It opened its mouth and expelled dense clouds of purple gas.

Zzzzt... zzzzt...

The poison spread among the trees, and wherever it touched the wood, it instantly corroded it, dripping purple pus.

"Chii chii chii!"

A passing Rattata was splashed with poison, and within seconds, its purple body disintegrated, leaving only a white skeleton.

"What a terrifying poison!" Ethan Black's face tensed.

"Could it be... a Toxic Orb?"

Feeling the lead Arbok's poisonous energy rising, Ethan Black didn't hesitate:

"Sandslash, don't let it accumulate more energy! Use Rapid Spin with Gyro Ball!"

Sandslash began spinning at high speed, combining both moves until it beca a silver top, charging directly through the poison cloud.

Zzzzt

The spin created a whirlwind that dispersed the purple gas, heading straight for Arbok.

"Ssssss!"

Arbok roared, and its tail began to glow with a violet light. The surrounding poisonous cloud gathered on it, forming a solid spectral tail.

At that mont, both Pokémon concentrated such intense energy that all the other Pokémon stopped to watch.

Boom!

Sandslash, spinning like a projectile, collided with the lead Arbok, whose poisonous energy was at its peak. The impact created a shockwave that sank the ground and sent a violent blast in all directions.

Another crash... and the lead Arbok shot out of the dust cloud, knocking down an entire strip of trees.

"Is the battle over?" Jasper Reid looked toward the scene.

Although it wasn't the first ti he had seen Sandslash's combined moves, it was always impressive.

Absol got up and began walking in circles, evaluating Sandslash and Ethan Black.

"Ssssss!"

Seeing their leader injured, a large number of Ekans rushed to cover it and slowly began retreating.

"Phew... the Ekans army is retreating," Ethan Black sighed.

But Absol wasn't going to let the lead Arbok go. With a growl, it launched in pursuit, followed by a crowd of Rattata, Raticate, and Komala.

"Absol, if you're going after it, take with you," called Ethan Black just before the Pokémon disappeared from sight.

Absol stopped, returned to him, and crouched slightly.

"Do you want to ride?" Ethan Black asked in surprise.

Absol bowed again.

"All right."

Ethan Black took a deep breath, returned all his Pokémon to their Poké Balls except for Sandslash, and mounted Absol, holding tightly around its neck.

"Let's go, Absol."

Absol shot forward like lightning, a white shadow leading the Pokémon pack in pursuit.

The wind roared in Ethan Black's ears, pushing him fiercely, as if trying to throw him off. Absol slowed slightly, wary of its rider falling.

"Absol, don't hold back. Run at full speed."

Ethan Black pulled out Shuckle's Poké Ball:

"Shuckle, use Constrict to secure to Absol."

The small Pokémon nodded and extended its yellow tentacles, firmly securing Ethan Black.

With no worries now, Absol accelerated to full speed, tearing through the forest in pursuit of the Ekans horde.
