Now reading: Chapter 148: Next Big Venture from Pokemon: A Gym Leader's Rise(SI), a Action novel by MrMime24.

Gladion was reading different reports about his different businesses.

He scanned a troubling report: his prism scale business, a lucrative venture and his first ever business, was hemorrhaging profits.

Sales had plumted, and the numbers painted a clear picture of sabotage.

Gladion's smirk was cold, his mind already tracing the culprit. 'Devon Corporation. Should've seen this coming.'

The report detailed a calculated strike. Month ago, Devon, Hoenn's industrial titan, had approached Gladion with a proposal to split the Mt. Moon mine's tal Coat and prism scale profits, or at least share the raw materials.

'I ignored them,' he recalled, his psychic senses replaying the dismissive email he'd sent.

'Why share when I control the supply?' Devon, stung by his refusal, had retaliated with this.

They'd acquired dozens of small-scale prism scale businesses across Indigo, consolidating them into a single corporate juggernaut backed by a fleet of Milotic, their scales harvested en masse.

'They're flooding the Indigo region market,' Gladion noted, his eyes narrowing at the figures. 'Even with tariffs, they're selling cheaper than us.'

His firm, Vortex Enterprises, had been forced to slash prices to compete, eroding margins. 'I guess that we would have more monopoly on prism scales. Hmm, reducing prices is an option but I can use this to market our brand as the premium quality one. Well, I hope Devon Corporation is not familiar with Luxury Marketing.' Gladion thought

He leaned back, his smirk unshaken.

'Anyways, Prism scales aren't my core business—tal coats (Soon), gym revenue, Social dia and our shop those are the pillars.'

'Devon's flexing, trying to hurt , but they're playing a short ga. I'll let them think they've won—for now.'

Retaliation would co from Gladion but not rashly. Devon's Corporation was about to learn why you don't cross a Vortex.

Gladion's mind shifted to a longer, grander sche—one that would dwarf the prism scale spat.

During his travels across Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, Gladion hadn't just hunted rare stones with his Psychic Pokemon and Sabrina.

He'd scoured ancient sites for fossils, relics of Pokémon long extinct. Deserts of Hoenn—Route 111's sands hid Cranidos skulls. Johto's Ruins of Alph yielded Omanyte shells. Kanto's Pewter quarries coughed up Kabuto fragnt.

His ani knowledge, a secret edge from his past life, had guided him to pri locations, like Grandpa Canyon, a hidden chasm in Kanto.

'Authorities and researchers missed it for years, but I knew from the ani—five living ancient Pokémon thrived there.'

His psychic senses recalled the thrill of discovery: Omanyte and Omastar, their spiral shells glinting in underground springs; Kabuto and Kabutops, scuttling like armored crabs; and Aerodactyl, its wings casting shadows as it soared.

He had found these living specn of ancient Pokemon along with many fossils.

After subduing them, he relocated them to a secure habitat in his ranch where they would be safe and hidden.

Mt. Moon, now under his legal control, was the final frontier.

'With my mining permit, I can excavate fossils under the guise of 'exploring' the mine.Devon thinks taking over my monopoly on prism scales is a power move? They're nothing compared to this.'

Gladion's smirk widened, his psychic aura crackling with ambition.

At the heart of his sche was a cutting-edge fossil revival technology, spearheaded by a team of researchers he'd poached from Devon's radar.

'In the original tiline, Devon cracked fossil revival first—museums, trainers, everyone flocked to them.'

Gladion had rewritten that future, luring key scientists—paleontologists, geneticists, even a rogue Silph Co. engineer—with fat contracts and promises of fa. They didn't know their work would've gone to Devon otherwise.

His lab, buried beneath his ranch, humd with progress, the revival machine nearing completion.

'Six months, tops, and we'll be ready.' The tech would allow any fossil—Helix, Do, Claw—to be resurrected into living Pokémon, but only through Vortex Enterprises.

'Trainers, museums, even Devon, will pay through the nose to revive their fossils.'

His psychic senses conjured a vision of Devon's CEO, stone-faced, handing over millions for an Aerodactyl.

The financial sting would be brutal.

'I'll charge Devon triple—call it a 'market adjustnt' for my lost scale profits.'

Gladion's chuckle was low, predatory. 'They'll have no choice. Their fossil stockpile's useless without my machine.'

But revival was only half the plan. His father, a master breeder led a team cultivating the living ancient Pokémon at the ranch.

'Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops, Aerodactyl—they're breeding, slowly but surely.'

The habitat, a fortified ecosystem of caves and springs, mimicked their prehistoric hos, encouraging mating.

'First eggs are months away, but once they hatch, we'll sell the offspring.'

Rare, powerful, and steeped in mystique, these Pokémon would fetch astronomical prices.

'Collectors, Aces, even Gym Leaders will beg for a Kabutops or Aerodactyl.' Gladion's smirk turned sly.

'And I'll use them in gym battles.' The spectacle would draw crowds, boosting ticket sales and PokéTube views, centing Moonwood's status as Kanto's premier gym.

Gladion had found hundreds of fossils in all three regions. He had used his psychic power and that of his Pokemon as well as Sabrina and her Pokemon to have them dug it out with easy and in a very fast manner.

With so many fossils to work with, the research of developing the technology was given a boost. Gladion did not really want any of these Fossil Pokemon in his main team but he could see that many trainers would want such rair and exotic Pokemon.

And they would pay a large amount of Pokedollars to get them.

Gladion could not help but laugh at that thought with dollars flashing in his eyes.
