When Gladion neared the mountains, he released his entire team at once. The Poke Balls opened with bright flashes, and his Pokémon for this mission appeared around him.
He was on complete alert and so were his Pokemon. Everyone was examining their surroundings sharplu. He and his Pokemon both knew this mission could turn dangerous very quickly.
There was no doubt about who took the lead for them. Colossus moved to the front of the group imdiately. Besides being the tankiest and strongest of Gladion's team, Colossus was also the best option in an underground environnt filled with caves.
He was soone who could fight in caves and can cause caves in on top of deoxys if required. His dark typing also offered a natural counter to a psychic like Deoxys.
Nyx, his Umbreon, stayed close to him. Her dark typing gave the sa advantage. Ultron took the rear of the group to watch their backs. Craggy, his Kleavor, stayed on one side with his sharp blades ready. Hisoka, his Gliscor, took the other side, gliding silently just above the ground.
Latios and Latias floated on either side of the group. They were the reason that Gladion was assured of heading towards the fen of a mythical Pokemon who was equal to in strength with a legendary Pokemon.
This ti Gladion was not going to underestimate a superior threat. The last ti he had done so, his Scizor paid the price by losing a limb. He still rembered that mistake clearly. He would not repeat it.
"We sense it," Latios said quietly, his voice calm but serious.
Latias nodded beside him. "It is close. The energy feels… different. Not like any Pokémon we have t before."
Gladion kept his eyes on the dark entrance of the cave system. "Stay together. No one moves alone. If Deoxys is here, we treat him with respect and with no hostility but we stay ready for anything."
The group moved forward into the mountain. The path narrowed quickly. The air grew cooler and damper. Small rocks crunched under Colossus's heavy feet.
The deeper they went, the stronger the presence felt. It was not hostile yet, but it was powerful.
They reached the teor crash site after walking through several twisting tunnels. A large hole opened in the ceiling of a wide cave, letting sunlight pour down onto the broken rock below.
In the center of the crater that hosted a rather dium sized tor was Deoxys. The alien Pokémon floated quietly in front of the teor. It looked exactly like the pictures from Gladion's mories, but seeing it in person felt completely different.
Deoxys turned slowly toward the group. Its voice echoed directly in their minds,
"Why have you co?"
Gladion stepped forward a little, keeping his team behind him. Latios though also moved next to him just in case Deoxys chose to go on attack mode.
'It seems that Deoxys had managed to gather information about our world as well as our language from the Aura Guardians. He is engaging in diplomacy sonI guess that's a good start. Let's hope that this doesn't turn into a fight.' Gladion deduced.
Gladion answered,"We just want to talk to you and make sure that you know more about our planet and that you adhere to so of the basic rules of it. You are soone with a lot of strength after all."
Deoxys continued. "And what gives you the right?"
Gladion answered clearly. "We ca because your arrival caused concern. The people here asked for help. We are here to understand what happened and to make sure no one gets hurt."
Deoxys floated higher. "This is my ho now. You walk on my rock without asking. It is rude to intrude on others' ho and their privacy."
The words carried a cold pressure that pressed against everyone in the cave. Colossus stepped forward, growling . Nyx's eyes brightened. Ultron's eyes narrowed at the back. Craggy raised his blades slightly. Latios and Latias moved closer to Gladion, their psychic power ready to shield the group.
Gladion kept his voice steady. "We do not want to fight. We only want to talk. Your teor crashed here. The people are worried. If you need space, we can help find a quiet place for you to live. You already have hurt people and have made the surrounding Pokemon leave their habitat. We are not here to take your ho. We only want to understand. If you let us talk, maybe we can find a way that works for everyone and help you find a ho for and your rock sowhere no one would intrude on."
"I do not need your help," Deoxys replied. "I protected my ho for hundreds of years. I will protect it here too. If you co closer, I will make you leave. Leave now or I will show you why I survived in space for so long."
Gladion sighed,"I guess the conversation has reached its limit. I hoped that we would be able to do it without bloodshed but it seems that he needs to learn that he is no longer The only true beast out on the field."
Gladion let his hand down and at his signal both his Tyranitar and Umbreon fired a dark pulse at Deoxys.
In an instant, Deoxys shifted slightly. Its body began to change. The smooth form thickened. Arms grew stronger. The head beca more angular. It had switched into Defense Form.
And a barrier ford in front of it that blocked the dark pulses without an issue despite the type disadvantage.
