However… how exactly had this Togepi managed to survive here?

It was common knowledge that most Pokémon in the Safari Zone were brought in as eggs and gradually ford their own groups.

Lone Pokémon were extrely rare.

That Trapinch from earlier had already surprised Silas, but it wasn't sothing he couldn't explain.

After all, Trapinch eggs weren't particularly distinctive or easy to recognize. Maybe the staff had made a mistake identifying it, and after realizing the error, decided to raise it here instead, waiting for soone to co and claim it.

After all, most Dragon-type Pokémon were usually reserved in advance for designated Trainers.

As for the idea that the staff hadn't even noticed it? Silas hadn't considered that possibility at all. The Safari Zone staff couldn't possibly be that incompetent, right?

But now, with this Togepi showing up… he was starting to have his doubts. There's no way he'd randomly co across two unaccounted Pokémon, right? And no one had ntioned anything about them either.

Or… maybe they really were that incompetent?

Silas's thoughts began to race.

He spent over an hour playing around with the two Pokémon. During that ti, his senses didn't detect a single person nearby.

He let out a breath. That ant this wasn't a Pokémon raised by the park staff this one really had slipped through the cracks.

He then turned his gaze to the Togepi who was currently play-fighting with Marill on his lap.

"Little one, how did you end up here?"

Silas lowered his head and asked softly.

"Togepi~?"

Togepi paused mid-play, pondered for a mont, and then began explaining to Silas.

Originally, it had been living in an unnad wild forest, a place filled with many of its kind—Togepi, Togetic, and Togekiss.

Their group was the undisputed overlord of that area. No other Pokémon dared disturb them.

But then… for so reason, one day while it was sleeping, it had suddenly ended up here.

It had been sleeping deeply at the ti and had no idea what had happened.

There shouldn't have been any Pokémon capable of sneaking into the heart of their group, let alone taking it away.

"Ruu~"

Marill added a few words of its own, offering clarification. Apparently, it had discovered Togepi one day while returning to its den after a al.

At the ti, Togepi was curled up fast asleep. Marill had never seen a Togepi before and had approached out of curiosity, hoping to make a new playmate.

It had poked Togepi several tis, but Togepi didn't wake up.

Later, Marill returned with a few other Pokémon from its group, and only then did Togepi finally wake up.

Suddenly appeared out of nowhere?

Silas rubbed his chin, sothing about this just didn't feel right.

Based on Togepi's description, its group must have been extrely powerful.

The more remote the area, the stronger the wild Pokémon that lived there they instinctively kept away from human settlents.

It was just… strange.

As for Marill's explanation, it didn't help much.

Togepi was known to sleep very soundly, supposedly because it experienced incredible happiness while resting.

Unless it was soone close or a source of intense joy and happiness, it wouldn't wake up. Since Marill said it had brought its playmates to wake Togepi up, that probably explained why it finally stirred.

Then, a sudden thought crossed Silas's mind, his expression turning uncertain and uneasy.

"Togepi?"

Togepi let out a worried sound. You look kind of weird. Are you okay?

Silas gently patted its head. "I'm fine, little one."

After a mont's hesitation, he asked directly, "Do you want to go back to your group?"

Both Pokémon understood what he ant.

"Marill! rill!"

Before the hesitant Togepi could respond, Marill cried out.

To Silas's surprise, Marill wanted Togepi to leave. He had thought it would want Togepi to stay and keep playing.

But Marill made it clear—it knew how fun it was to play with others from its own group, and Togepi surely missed that too.

Togepi heard what Marill said but still looked hesitant.

To be honest, going ho was a tempting idea, but these past ten days had been incredibly happy. It was worried that Marill might be sad without it.

Marill looked at it with a surprisingly humanlike expression of disbelief.

"Marill!"

You're overthinking! I have lots of other playmates—I won't be sad!

After saying that, it jumped off Silas's lap and ran into the tall grass, not giving Togepi a chance to say another word.

"Togepi~!"

Togepi looked stunned. You just left like that?!

It looked uncertainly between Silas and the direction where its playmate had vanished.

"Go on, give it a try."

Silas gave its head a gentle rub.

Togepi nodded firmly. Even though the motion was barely visible, the next second, it leapt down and ran into the grass.

It had only been gone for a few seconds…

"Marill!"

And suddenly, from the sa patch of grass, a blue Marill ca storming back out, angrily pushing Togepi along until both were back in front of Silas.

Using its arms and tail at the sa ti, it pointed at Silas and Togepi, eyes filled with murderous intent.

You two… understand?!

They understood. The human and the Pokémon obediently nodded their heads. As expected of a future Dragon Slayer in her pre-evolution form—what an aura.

Marill nodded in satisfaction. She really couldn't leave them unsupervised. After giving Togepi a few last words of advice, she turned and left.

Watching Marill's disappearing figure, Silas took out a Safari Ball. "Well then, little one?"

Togepi looked at Silas, then at the Safari Ball. This ti, there was no hesitation. It directly reached out and pressed the white button in the center.

A flash of red light, and Togepi was drawn inside.

"Bii~" "Ga~" "Yipong~"

The surrounding Pokémon cheered in celebration as they watched.

Every ti a Trainer successfully caught a Pokémon in the Safari Zone, they felt joy too. It ant both Trainer and Pokémon had found their ideal partner.

Even though they weren't especially close to Togepi, they still celebrated for it. If possible, they hoped they too could one day et a kindred-spirited Trainer.

Silas released Togepi again and held it gently in his arms.

Togepi waved its little hands at the Pokémon around them. Goodbye, friends. Pidgey, I won't dig up your nest next ti. Aipom, I won't pull out your hair while you're asleep again.

Before long, Silas and Togepi disappeared into the forest.

Marill erged from the grass, letting out a sigh as she looked in their direction.

"Pidgey~" "Aipom~"

A wave of killing intent ca from behind.

So you're the one who taught that little rascal to dig nests and pull hair? The furious Pidgey and Aipom glared at Marill.

"Marill!!"

Marill scread and bolted away in panic. No! That wasn't ! You've got the wrong Pokémon! It was that Togepi that taught !

And with that, the forest returned to its usual lively noise and chaos.

At that mont, Silas was already on his way back, completely unaware of what had just happened.

He wasn't planning to catch a second Pokémon anyway. His belief had always been that it was better to have fewer but stronger partners. With too many, he wouldn't be able to take proper care of them.

Perfect timing—he could still make it back in ti for lunch.

Togepi curiously glanced at the rocky sand area and the grassy plains. This was its first ti leaving the river and forest since arriving here.

Its past experiences taught it not to explore recklessly. The outside world was dangerous.

But judging by how relaxed its Trainer looked, it seed like he didn't care much at all.

Togepi curled itself into an egg shape, peeking out at the world through its dark eyes.

anwhile, the Safari Zone staff had begun bustling around.

Director Baoba was giving orders. "You, hang the banners over there. You, keep posting on the forums. You, lay down the carpets…"

The Trainers still lined up at the entrance watched the scene in confusion. What's all this about?

A few older locals exchanged knowing glances.

"Director Baoba, did soone catch a rare Pokémon again? But I don't rember you making such a big deal about it before."

Baoba, who was familiar with these folks, replied with a grin, "Yes, they did. But this ti, it's even more special than before. You'll understand soon enough."

His response was firm and direct.

Hearing this exchange, the others around began to catch on. Interest piqued, they paused their entry and instead turned to watch the main entrance, eagerly anticipating the new arrival.

"Director, they're almost here!"

A staff mber shouted while looking through binoculars.

"Alright! All departnts—get ready!" Baoba commanded.

Not long after, the main gate opened automatically.

Boom! Boom! Boom~!

Colorful fireworks and confetti cannons burst into the air.

"Congratulations to the Trainer for capturing a rare Pokémon~!"

Strears fluttered down from the sky, landing gently on Silas and Togepi.

Silas stood there, stunned. What in the world… is this?

Togepi was even worse off it got such a fright that its little body, which had just peeked out, imdiately shrank back into its shell. What is this scary thing!?

"Wha—That's a Togepi! The Safari Zone has Togepi?!"

A nearby Trainer pointed at the Pokémon in Silas's arms and shouted.

A wave of commotion spread across the crowd.

Suddenly, it turned into chaos.

"I want to enter the Safari Zone!"

" too!"

"Count in!"

A flood of Trainers sward the reception desk.

Everyone knew about Togekiss. While it was hard to evolve, its strength was undeniable. What made it even rarer was how hard it was to find one in the wild.

And now, this Trainer walking out was holding a Togepi. That ant he had already cleared the hardest step.

Trainers who had already completed registration secretly thanked their luck. Without paying attention to the park's celebration, they bolted straight into the Safari Zone.

It's not like they could snatch a Pokémon already caught by soone else. But there was no harm in searching—who's to say they weren't the next lucky one?

Silas watched the frenzy of people and sighed in relief. Thankfully, the Safari Zone had rules prohibiting Trainers from revealing a Pokémon's habitat. Otherwise, he'd have been sward already.

Several middle-aged n dressed like proper gentlen were about to walk up. While buying Pokémon was off-limits, offering trades between Trainers was always allowed it was a sign of friendship.

And among friends, offering a little funding was totally normal, right?

But before they could get far, they were stopped by Safari Zone staff.

Just as they were about to get upset, the staff whispered sothing to them. The n all sighed, shook their heads helplessly, and instead went to the front desk to register.

"Well then, Silas Alraic, I'll just call you Silas. I happen to know Professor Oak. Let's go talk, shall we?"

Silas narrowed his eyes as he stared at the man in front of him a Slowpoke-like presence indeed.

"Sure, Director Baoba."
