Nurse Joy smiled as she took the Luxury Ball from Chansey and handed it back to Silas.
"Alright, thank you very much." Silas let out a sigh of relief.
Although Zero's analysis had already confird that Mareep was perfectly healthy, he still needed to be absolutely sure.
Back in his room, he figured today's afternoon training couldn't continue. Better to take half a day off.
Consider it a little birthday celebration for the newly born Mareep.
When this news was shared with his other Pokémon, Silas could clearly see the "finally free" look on their faces.
"Looks like the past two weeks I've kept the tension a little too high. I should let them relax from ti to ti."
Silas began reflecting on whether his training had been too harsh.

Servine sighed, unable to resist Togepi's constant pleading, and eventually joined in its gas.
Silas smiled as he prepared food for the newly hatched Mareep.
Mareep sniffed it and happily began eating. After being sent off for its health check right after hatching, it really was a little hungry.

As Silas focused his gaze and thought the command, the familiar blue status screen appeared.

Silas stared at the panel in thought.
Its ability and distribution were nothing unusual — Elite Four potential and a Hidden Ability weren't shocking.
As for Plus, well… for its future Ampharos, it wasn't particularly useful, at least not in standard battles.
Since he likely wouldn't train another Pokémon with Plus or Minus, the ability would rarely co into play.
Still, having a Hidden Ability was good. At the very least, it confird Zero's evaluation that this Mareep had excellent Electric-type talent.
Co to think of it, this was the first ti he had seen Zero give such an assessnt.
It seed this Mareep's physical qualities were only average compared to others of its species.
Fortunately, Silas never intended to send it into close combat anyway.
Even though Ampharos could learn moves like Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Brick Break, or even Focus Blast, it was never renowned for its lee prowess.
Luckily, the essence of Focus Blast is still a special energy-based attack. While Ampharos doesn't gain the sa-type attack bonus from Fighting-type moves, it can still unleash a considerable amount of power with it.
What surprised Silas a little, however, were the four inherited moves.
It seed that Mareep's parents were likely an Ampharos and a Manectric—quite an impressive pairing.
No wonder, since it ca from the Ampharos Lighthouse breeding program, and it was even Shiny.
Even compared to the excellent starter Pokémon raised at the League's official facilities, this Mareep was no weaker—possibly even better.
As for Charge and Electric Terrain, there was no need to say much—those were must-have support moves for Ampharos in the future.
Take Down, on the other hand, wasn't very aningful. The only use it might have was giving Mareep a powerful offensive option early on.
But once it evolved into Ampharos, Silas found it hard to imagine any situation where he would need Ampharos to rely on Take Down.
After all, you don't ask a wizard to brawl with their fists—unless they're an embodint of light, right?
The move that truly satisfied Silas was Odor Sleuth.
Put simply, it improved the accuracy of Ampharos's moves, and it also allowed Normal- and Fighting-type moves to hit Ghost-type Pokémon.
This was important—especially the forr.
Otherwise, when Ampharos went up against particularly evasive and agile Pokémon, its accuracy would be a major weakness.
After all, enemies are never just standing targets.
If you only rely on punishing the openings created when an opponent finishes using a move, that's not only passive but also leaves little margin for error.
Silas nodded in satisfaction. No matter how he looked at it, this Mareep was an excellent partner.
With this, his full team of six "main Pokémon" for his first major tournant was finally complete—though two of them still didn't yet have real battling power.

Sure enough, it was already proving to be another worry-free partner, just like its seniors. Silas sighed with relief.
He sat down on the sofa in his room, unsure of what to do next.
For the past two weeks, his daily schedule had been very strict: "wake up early to make breakfast, morning workout, training or tasks, prepare lunch, training or tasks, prepare dinner, more training, study videos, then sleep."
To be honest, he felt like a bit of a robot.
He opened his computer and watched so videos, but no matter what, sothing felt off.
Still, he had promised to give his Pokémon a break today. He couldn't go back on his word now.
His expression grew unusually conflicted.

The sudden knocking at the door interrupted Silas's thoughts.
Who could it be? he wondered curiously as he got up and opened the door.
"Uh…"
Silas froze when he saw who was standing outside.
"Surprised to see ?" she asked.
"A little," Silas admitted honestly. "So, what brings you here, Sabrina?"
