"Hu~" Silas let out a deep breath.

He had just finished watching a heartwarming movie, and honestly, it left him feeling a little irritated.

Combusken couldn't even sit through half of it before losing interest, choosing to return to its Poké Ball to rest on its own.

Glancing at the navigation ti, there were less than twenty minutes left before arrival.

Silas turned off the auto-navigation and accelerated.

Up in the sky, Pidgeot lazily flapped its wings, following along effortlessly.

For it, this speed was nothing more than a casual stroll. If it flew at full speed, it could reach Pewter City from Viridian City in just a little over three minutes.

It couldn't understand why its trainer insisted on spending over three hours traveling the route such a waste of ti.

Of course, Silas had no idea Pidgeot was ntally complaining about him. He was just enjoying the thrill of speeding down the road.

Luckily, there wasn't anyone else around. Otherwise, the way he was driving would definitely lead to trouble.

"Zzt~"

Silas hit the brakes, bringing the electric bike to a stop. He got off, stored it in his space backpack, and then called Pidgeot down to return it to its Poké Ball.

Getting too close to the city with an out-of-ball Pokémon could cause trouble Gym-affiliated city protectors might mistake it for a wild Pokémon and take action.

Silas strolled toward the entrance of Pewter City.

Pewter City, also known as the Deep Gray City, Rock City, and Aerospace City, was located at the intersection of Viridian Forest and Mount Moon.

The surrounding landscape resembled a basin, with mountains enclosing it on three sides and the fourth side opening toward the forest.

Thanks to its unique location, Pewter City had a rich geological environnt, making it the largest source of rocks and minerals in the Kanto region.

Beyond that, the Mount Moon range was ho to various ancient Pokémon fossils, which attracted both collectors and Pokémon researchers.

For collectors, complete fossils were priceless treasures that could sell for unbelievable sums.

For researchers, any fossil, even incomplete ones, had value. With genetic extraction technology, they could conduct a wide range of studies regardless of the fossil's condition.

As of now, fossil revival technology had yet to be publicly developed, but Silas figured he could start collecting so fossils in advance.

Once the revival technology was perfected, fossil prices would skyrocket.

And right now, no one seed to know about or have explored Granite Valley. Silas figured he could make a fortune if he found the right opportunity.

For Pokémon Trainers, however, the biggest attraction in Pewter City was Mount Moon not just because of the Pokémon living there, but because of the rare evolutionary stone found within: the Moon Stone.

Mount Moon was ho to large numbers of Clefairy, and according to legend, Clefairy were extraterrestrial Pokémon that ca from the moon.

The Moon Stone was believed to be a teorite from space, which is why it could trigger Clefairy's evolution.

Many Trainers who ventured into Mount Moon were hoping to find a Moon Stone and strike it rich.

Silas knew that deep within Mount Moon, there was a Clefairy colony that guarded a giant Moon Stone capable of evolving multiple Clefairy at once.

But that was just wishful thinking. Even without considering how strong the Clefairy colony might be, the Pokémon League had likely already sealed off the area, making it impossible to get close.

Pewter City was also known for its advancents in aerospace technology. It was ho to the only museum in the Kanto region the Pewter Museum of Science which preserved the city's history in space exploration.

However, as the economy shifted and with Hoenn's Mossdeep City developing its own aerospace program, Pewter City gradually abandoned its research in the field.

Nowadays, only the museum remained as a reminder of Pewter City's once-glorious space exploration era.

After finishing his lunch, Silas walked through the streets of Pewter City, observing the surroundings. The buildings were all deep gray, giving the city its na.

Compared to Viridian City, the people here were younger and seed more energetic.

Silas had several goals for this journey. His top priority, of course, was making money.

But he also planned to start challenging Gyms, capturing and refining his main battle team, and eventually competing in the regional tournant.

He had two main reasons for this. The first was to improve his Trainer rank.

Achieving the Basic Trainer rank was quite simple. One could qualify as long as they owned either a single Advance-level Pokémon or at least two Standard-level Pokémon.

Silas had earned his Basic Trainer certification after his Pidgeotto reached Advance-level.

However, advancing to the Advance Trainer rank was much more demanding. A trainer needed at least three Pokémon of Advance level or higher and had to reach the main tournant stage of a regional conference.

For the Quasi-Elite rank, the Pokémon level requirents were even higher, and a trainer needed to place in the top four of a regional conference.

As for the Elite rank, it required a trainer to possess at least six Pokémon at Elite level. However, unlike previous ranks, there were no specific tournant placent requirents.

Silas wasn't entirely sure about the criteria for ranks beyond that, but he suspected they might actually be simpler.

Higher-ranked trainers enjoyed more benefits and had a greater chance of obtaining positions within the Pokémon League.

Because of this, competing in Gym battles and regional tournants was absolutely necessary.

The second reason was to attract investors.

Regional tournants served as a stage for independent trainers those without family backing to showcase their abilities.

Every year, trainers used these tournants to demonstrate their skills and attract sponsorships or investnts, making their journey as trainers much smoother.

Silas was no exception. However, according to his plan, his main goal was the Johto League Conference two years from now.

As for the Indigo League Conference, he was more flexible about it. Since capturing and training Pokémon properly took ti, he doubted he would have six fully trained main team mbers ready by then.

If needed, he might have to catch so wild Pokémon as temporary team mbers just to fill the roster.

Silas arrived at the Pokémon Center's service hall to schedule his Gym battle appointnt.

In this world, Gym battles weren't as simple as they were in the ani of his previous life.

It wasn't as if he could just walk into a Gym, find the Gym Leader waiting, and imdiately start battling.

Gym Leaders had far more responsibilities they weren't just battle instructors but also the primary defenders of their city's security, organizers of comrcial events, and leaders in urban developnt.

Their schedules were packed.

While conducting Gym battles was part of their duty, it didn't an that any trainer could walk in at any ti and demand a match.

First, trainers had to schedule an appointnt and register their information.

This process allowed the Gym to assess the trainer's Pokémon strength and assign an opponent of similar power for the battle.

After all, every official Gym Leader was required to be at least at Elite level, aning they had a full six-Pokémon team capable of fighting at Elite-tier strength.

It was impossible for a Gym Leader to use their main team against a rookie trainer who had just started their journey.

Instead, the opponent assigned to the challenger was usually a Gym Apprentice with Pokémon of a comparable level.

After completing his appointnt, Silas used his VIP privileges to book a private room, then stored his backpack inside.

With so ti before his scheduled battle, he decided to explore Pewter City and experience the atmosphere of a city vastly different from Viridian City, where he had grown up.

After organizing his belongings, he stepped out onto the streets.
