A mont later, the researcher returned.
"The registration for the next Johto League Silver Conference has already been completed for you. Your travel docunts have been updated as well—wishing you the best of luck.
By the way, I've updated so information in your Pokédex. After all, Pokémon differ significantly between regions."
As he handed the Pokédex back to Silas, the researcher added with a hint of teasing:
"Although, it seems like it hasn't been of much use to you. I checked your usage stats—it's still zero."
Silas smiled as he took the Pokédex.
"It'll be useful eventually. There'll be Pokémon I don't know yet."
"Exactly. With so many Pokémon out there, there's always going to be ones you haven't seen.
Also, your Pokédex now includes the latest digital edition of the Johto Pokémon Guide, with information about the locations of Johto League gyms and other details. For real-ti updates, though, you'll still need to check with Nurse Joy at each town's Pokémon Center."
The researcher, Professor Elm's assistant, nodded in agreent and instinctively began giving Silas instructions as if he were a new Trainer.
But he quickly caught himself, patting his own head:
"I forgot—you've been on journeys before. You should already know all this."
Silas smiled quietly, saying nothing.
Normally, under League rules, confirming and updating this information would require visiting designated Pokémon Centers in several cities.
But thanks to so connections, a quick phone call between Professor Oak's lab and Professor Elm's lab allowed Silas to update and confirm his information at Elm's lab, just like a brand-new Trainer receiving a starter Pokémon in Johto.
It was mainly for convenience, since he had other things to take care of—otherwise, there'd be no need to rush.
"Professor, Professor…"
The researcher walked over to Professor Elm, who was still absorbed in his work, calling several tis to pull him out of his trance.
Elm clicked his tongue and looked slightly reluctant to leave his thoughts.
"I rember, Silas, you've done so impressive research on evolution too. We should discuss it more so ti.
It's a sha—if you had arrived a little later, you could have seen this year's new Trainers and their starter Pokémon. But the League hasn't given us the full list yet."
Elm expressed a hint of regret but quickly changed the subject.
"It's getting late; I won't keep you any longer."
After a few brief words, Silas checked the ti and prepared to leave.
"All right, I hope you have an unforgettable journey in Johto."
Both researchers offered their blessings.
As Silas's figure gradually disappeared from view, Elm unconsciously nodded.
"What is it, Professor?" the assistant asked at the right mont.
"An interesting young Trainer," Elm said with a faintly enigmatic sigh.
He recalled the mont when Ampharos released Thunderbolt—had Silas made such progress in just a short ti? Truly impressive.
Controlling that level of energy is very difficult, especially with only an Advance-level Ampharos.
"?"
The assistant, who hadn't seen the details, was slightly puzzled but didn't ask further.
"The analysis of the samples from Azalea Town Gym is complete. The data shows that if the ratio of the third sequential material is adjusted to 3.6%, then during the hatching process…"
Elm held a thick stack of papers and began his report.
The ntor and his assistant soon walked deeper into the lab to continue their research.
For them, Silas's visit was rely a minor interruption—mainly to break the monotony of the repetitive day-to-day studies.
Silas, walking quickly out of Elm's lab, soon arrived at the eastern exit of New Bark Town.
"There's still ti."
He glanced at his watch and muttered to himself, tossing a familiar Luxury Ball.
"Pidgeot, I'm counting on you."
In the next mont, Pidgeot soared into the sky, carrying Silas upward.
"The situation is just like this. Thank you for coming to help."
A man dressed like a foreman bowed very seriously to Silas.
"It's my duty," Silas said calmly, nodding slightly.
"Well then, I'll take my leave. If possible, sir, please inform us ahead of ti before you set out. We'll evacuate anyone inside the area."
The foreman didn't find Silas's calm deanor unusual and continued speaking with respect.
As a powerful Trainer, Silas naturally commanded such courtesy; if he had been overly casual, it would have felt strange to the foreman.
"No problem. I'll prepare myself. I plan to head out in about half an hour. You can start getting ready in the anti," Silas estimated the timing and told him.
The foreman saluted and then walked out of the tent.
Alone, Silas finally relaxed. He rubbed his face and stretched.
This was why he had co to the Johto region ahead of schedule. Otherwise, according to his original plan, although the so-called Orange League Championship trophy wasn't ready yet, he would have been relaxing in the Orange Islands before continuing his journey.
The sunlight, beaches, and ocean were always enticing. As a popular travel destination, the Orange Islands had many attractions.
Silas also wondered if that Steelix he had seen before was still around.
But there was no choice—people have to eat.
As a hard-working bounty hunter, after finishing the tournant, Silas resud a job he hadn't touched for a long ti.
Otherwise, his bank account would soon be empty—six companions can be quite expensive.
This ti, the mission wasn't assigned through the official Pokémon League bounty office; it was a semi-private job.
As for the client, Silas looked up at the Golden Wattle emblem—it was, of course, the Enda Group.
The very large company founded by Scott, the developer of the Battle Frontier Zone.
The process of getting the task was sowhat coincidental—Silas had been told about it by Silas's acquaintance, Silas Yezo In short, he had a pending mission, and since Silas was heading to Kanto anyway, it was convenient to take it on.
Thinking it through, Silas accepted the task from Yezo and got in touch with the Yurata Group.
The mission manager was already familiar with Silas, and since he was on their investnt list, they quickly offered a paynt of 3,500,000 Pokédollars, reflecting Silas's abilities.
Considering the task's difficulty, Silas accepted imdiately.
In reality, it was very simple—just dealing with occasional Pokémon uprisings, nothing unusual.
