"So, that's the general idea. If you don't have any issues with it, we can finalize things."

After explaining everything in detail, Brock's throat was dry. He quickly drank half a bottle of milk before continuing.

Silas chuckled. Instead of responding directly, he asked, "Brock, not only was yesterday your first ti overseeing a Gym battle, but this is also your first ti negotiating an investnt with soone like , isn't it?"

"Ahaha… yeah." Brock scratched his head awkwardly. "Was it that obvious?"

Silas set down his utensils. "Well… how should I put it?"

"To be honest, this is also my first ti discussing sothing like this. When Nurse Joy and her family invested in , it was a simple matter of improving my treatnt. We never had a back-and-forth conversation like this."

"But aren't these negotiations supposed to be more complicated? Normally, shouldn't I be the one making demands while you consider them, reject them, counter-offer, and then we reach a compromise?"

Brock grinned. "That's not necessarily wrong. If you'd like, we can scrap everything I just said and start over."

"No need! I think the terms are great—very reasonable. No complaints here." Silas waved his hands, rejecting the offer to renegotiate.

They looked at each other and laughed.

Brock continued, "The official part of the discussion is settled. I'll have soone send the full agreent to your watch later. You can review it at your convenience."

Silas nodded. "And the personal matter?"

Brock leaned forward slightly. "I'd like to ask for your help in creating a training plan for my Geodude. Of course, I'll pay you for it."

His eyes narrowed slightly, making it difficult to tell what he was thinking.

Silas didn't hesitate. "No problem, but it'll take a few days."

"No rush. Handle your own affairs first. In five days, just co to the Pewter Gym's front desk and ask for ."

"Got it." Silas glanced at his watch. "I've got sothing else to take care of, so I'll be heading out."

"Alright, see you."

"See you."

Brock watched Silas leave, still maintaining that slightly narrowed gaze. Then, he slowly stood up himself.

He thought back to his conversation with his father that morning.

"So, you've decided to let him handle Geodude's training?" Flint, Brock's father, had shown no visible expression.

"Yes."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure."

Flint was silent for a mont before saying, "Then go for it. You're still young."

Brock narrowed his eyes slightly. Yes, I'm young. I can afford to take risks.

His instincts told him that Silas had not yet revealed his full potential.

If this gamble paid off, he would quickly grow strong just like his father had in the past.

And if it failed?

At worst, he would have wasted so ti and effort on a single Pokémon. That was a price he could afford to pay.

"Don't disappoint ."

anwhile, Silas had retrieved his Pokémon from Nurse Joy and was now heading toward the Bounty Hunter Center, deep in thought.

Why would Brock suddenly ask to create a training plan for his Geodude? Was it a test?

No, that didn't seem right.

If he wanted to test him, he could have given him any random Gym Pokémon. The results would have been just as clear.

If it wasn't a test… then wasn't this deal a little too generous?

Silas couldn't quite figure it out.

As for the possibility that Brock simply couldn't find soone to create a training plan for him, that was highly unlikely.

The son of a Gym Leader, the future heir to the Pewter Gym, and a talented Pokémon Breeder himself are you telling he couldn't find soone to make a training plan for his Geodude?

Even if he couldn't hire a top-tier Breeder, he could still easily find others. In fact, Brock could have just done it himself for an early-stage Geodude.

It didn't make sense. No matter how much he thought about it, he just couldn't understand Brock's intentions.

By the ti he reached the Bounty Hunter Center and was preparing to take on a mission, he still hadn't figured it out.

Forget it. If I can't figure it out, I won't think about it anymore.

I'm just a regular Trainer there's no reason for anyone to sche against . My Combusken's potential and Project Zero haven't been exposed, either.

It's not a big deal. This must just be Brock's own decision.

For now, I should focus on accepting a mission and making so money.

Silas scrolled through the mission board, quickly scanning several tasks before selecting a C-rank mission. Just as he was about to leave, a notification popped up:

"Remaining available C-rank mission slots: 2."

Wait a minute… I'm only a C-rank Bounty Hunter. Why can I take three missions at the sa level?

Checking his profile, he noticed a new tag next to his rank:

C-rank (Increased Privileges).

Another benefit of having higher status? Not bad.

Silas sighed in admiration. The Joy family really had their hands in everything. Their benefits were surprisingly generous.

Seeing that he had extra slots, he picked up two more decent C-rank missions before heading toward Mt. Moon.

It was said that Clefairy lived deep within Mt. Moon.

Due to years of mining operations and wild Pokémon constantly using moves like Dig, the internal structure of the mountain had beco extrely complex. It was common for Trainers to get lost inside.

Even so, the lure of Moon Stones, fossils, and Pokémon like Clefairy, Nidorino, and Nidorina attracted countless Trainers who ventured into its depths.

Silas walked through the dark, damp tunnels, using his flashlight to light the way.

This was his third hour inside Mt. Moon, and he had long since strayed from the League-approved exploration routes.

Combusken had just dealt with yet another Geodude that Silas had accidentally stepped on.

Pokémon made entirely of rock weren't exactly valuable for materials, yet they loved lying around in caves. In the darkness, it was easy to mistake them for ordinary stones.

I think I've stepped on seven or eight of them already.

Silas ntally tallied the number.

Well, there shouldn't be any more ahead.

Activating the environntal scanner built into his exploration suit, he noted that the humidity in the air had already exceeded Geodude's preferred range.

That ant he was getting close to his target.

Taking out a drone from his backpack, Silas carefully piloted it deeper into the cave.

The night vision cara scanned every corner as he and Combusken trailed behind at a distance.

Before long, the drone detected sothing.

Silas had it attach itself to the rocky ceiling, then directed Combusken to approach.

"Use Flathrower on those two Paras, but keep the power low. Don't burn them to ashes."

Combusken nodded, carefully releasing a controlled burst of fire toward the corner of the cave.

The flas illuminated the damp, gloomy cavern, revealing the exposed roots of a large tree in the corner.

Surrounding the roots were two Paras and one Parasect, all feeding on the nutrients.

This was his mission target.

The two Paras were imdiately knocked out by the flas.

Silas smirked. "Nice, got lucky on the first try. I thought I'd have trouble finding a Parasect."

Feeling that his luck had been improving lately, he activated the poison filter in his exploration suit's breathing mask.

"Don't get too close to the Parasect. Use Growl to provoke it. Make it release its spores."

Combusken nodded, letting out a loud cry.

The Parasect trembled and took a few steps back. Then, as if completely enraged, the giant mushroom on its back began to wildly release spores into the air.

Watching the cloud of spores spread, Silas suddenly felt a bit of a headache.
