Chapter 432:

Returning to the plantation and releasing all his Pokémon, Kaede began to ponder what the exclusive recipe for passing the Sky Challenge should be.

Elite Four Rosaline’s Pokémon were likely mostly Ice-type.

Kaede naturally recalled what recipes he had made for his Alolan Ninetales before when he thought of ice type.

Apart from that one exclusive recipe with dragon-type effectiveness and damage reduction, he hadn’t really deliberately crafted many other dishes for it.

This was actually understandable.

Mainly because he lacked Ice-type ingredients. For Ice-type ingredients, one would probably need to search on snowy mountains, like snow lotus or similar things, which should be very effective.

Kaede started rummaging through his system space.

The space contained various Berries. With many Pokémon becoming happy under his care, he often ended up with all sorts of strange items. Kaede couldn’t possibly notice every single one.

So things, he only looked for when needed.

Among them, there were naturally Ice-type Pokémon that had been pleased.

Unfortunately, the rewarded ingredients were mostly Berries and such.

But he actually managed to find several types of "Berries" related to snowy mountains?

[Snow Lotus Fruit – A tuber from a plant growing at altitudes over a thousand ters. When spring warmth returns and snowlt is abundant, it absorbs large amounts of water.]

[Snowy Pecha Berry – A variant of the Pecha Berry found on snowy mountains. To adapt to weather changes, the Pecha Berry developed extre cold resistance, transforming into the Snowy Pecha Berry, which is more beloved by Ice-type Pokémon.]

[Snowy Thorn Berry – Often grows among thorny bushes on snowy mountains. Color tends toward yellow, taste slightly sour, rich in various nutrients.]

There were a few other Berries.

But what Hayashi Kaede found troubleso was not knowing how to process them into a dish.

Or rather, how to maximize the effects of these Berries?

Juice?

That was one of thr cold thing Kaede could think of.

But that felt a bit too perfunctory.

It was, after all, the final stage of the Sky Challenge. Giving a cup of juice just seed too shabby.

"Let think, what did Alolan Ninetales ate back then..." Kaede began recalling Alolan Ninetales’s exclusive recipe.

Fish at, fish skin... fish jelly?

Fish jelly?

That QQ, soft texture quickly made Kaede’s eyes light up.

If the ingredients were Berries, he could make a jelly-like pudding!

"Hehe, since I’m cooking anyway, I’ll make it and see what effect it has. If it’s good, Alolan Ninetales can have so too~"

With that thought, Kaede didn’t hesitate any longer. After all, Elite Four Rosaline was waiting outside.

Several Berries were washed, peeled, then mashed in a blender and set aside. Then, Moomoo Milk was added to a pot over low heat. He probably should have added sugar, but Kaede felt that since it was spring, the Moomoo Milk produced by Miltank already had a naturally sweet flavor, so he skipped it.

After heating it slightly, he added fish gelatin. This was gelatin refined from fish bones that Alolan Ninetales didn’t eat, which Hayashi Kaede had extracted and processed each ti.

Heating continued until the gelatin lted, then the fruit puree was stirred in evenly.

Finally, it was strained until no foam remained, poured into molds, placed in the refrigerator, and left to set.

But after finishing this, Kaede didn’t go out imdiately.

During the battle earlier, he had told Blaziken he would make it sothing good to eat after the fight.

He naturally couldn’t break that promise.

As for what Blaziken considered delicious, that was much simpler. Grilling so skewers and brewing a few pots of Berry wine would satisfy it, Salance, and the others.

By the ti all this was done, about an hour had passed.

Opening the refrigerator, the milky fragrance of Moomoo Milk, with a hint of fresh fruit scent, wafted out.

[S Grade Dish – Snow Mountain Pudding: A sweet pudding made using icy mountain snow fruits and Moomoo Milk. Has calming and ice-resisting effects.

Dish Effect 1: Calming – After consumption by Ice-type or Psychic-type Pokémon, they will be more focus when using moves, thereby increasing move execution speed by 5%–10%. The calming effect is maximized in snowy/icy environnts.

Dish Effect 2: Ice Resistance – Long-term consumption by Ice-type Pokémon will increase their resistance to damage from Ice-type energy-based moves.]

Two dish effects.

The second one would only show significant changes after long-term use.

Kaede wasn’t surprised by this, as most of his dishes were like that.

Often, he didn’t pay attention to how long "long-term" was. Aside from making big bone broth for Salance, Dragonite, Goodra, and Serperior because they feared the cold, and for Pidgeot and the others who faced the Sky Challenge and delivery tasks, he rarely consistently made one type of dish for his Pokémon to boost various resistances.

Because you can’t resist everything.

Poison, freeze, burn, infatuation...

These were all effects that could occur in Pokémon battles.

He just needed to make dishes targeting specific, particularly feared conditions.

But the first dish effect interested Kaede more.

Calming.

It could make Pokémon more focus when using moves, increasing move execution speed?

And it was permanent?

Wasn’t that equivalent to permanently increasing a Pokémon’s individual Speed stat by 5% to 10%?

Unfortunately, it only applied to Psychic-type and Ice-type Pokémon.

But it was still quite good.

Since it was made in molds, he produced several dozen puddings at once.

Kaede thought for a mont, took out three pieces, and prepared to give these three as rewards.

As for the remaining few dozen...

Of course, they were for his own Pokémon~

Don’t underestimate these three pieces; three were enough for three Pokémon to gain the Calming effect.

After packing these small puddings and preparing Blaziken’s grilled skewers, Dragonite and Salance’s Berry wine, Kaede finally left the kitchen. Scanning the plantation and Berry orchard with his Aura power, his expression turned to surprise.

Huh.

He had been in the kitchen for so long, but Salance still hadn’t returned?

"That shouldn’t be right?"

Given Salance’s speed, although slower than Dragonite’s, a few dozen kiloters was just a few wing flaps, wasn’t it?

"How strange. Did they have a conflict or sothing?"

Kaede began to feel a bit worried.

.....

Ti rewinds to just after parting with Salance.

After dropping Satoshi on the cruise ship (ignoring the commotion its arrival caused), Salance quickly flew toward ho. But halfway there, it felt sothing was wrong . Looking back, a massive white shadow landed on the water’s surface...
