Scizor doesn't waste ti after he successfully dodges this dangerous move and Scizor used [Bullet punch] almost imdiately after that.
His goal was not Arcanine but the other side of the arena.
He uses this move to build up a distance between him and Arcanine again.
Arcanine, who noticed that Scizor was out of range again, looked at his trainer, who hadn't given him a new order yet.
Gary started waking up when he saw his Pokemon give him a confused expression.
"Arcanine run in range again. Also, prepare [Heat Wave] again when you run. Don't worry he shouldn't have any more moves like [Bullet punch] or [Quick Attack]."
Alex had an emotionless expression but he knew that Gary was right about what he said and that Scizor can't really dodge Arcanine's next attack.
Unfortunately, Scizor was at too much of a disadvantage against Arcanine, so that Scizor can't do much against Arcanine. even with this tactic.
Arcanine is faster than Scizor and would still be faster than a Scizor that had successfully used [Agility] once. Also, Scizor needs to be in lee-range for his strongest move. making it very easy for Arcanine to hit Scizor successfully.
Scizor still showed a calm expression as he prepared his next move.
Arcanine ran as fast as he could to get within range of [Heat Wave], but he took longer than Scizor, who only need to prepare his move.
Scizor used [Aerial Ace] and the move tracked Arcanine like a guided missile. Arcanine didn't try to dodge either so that the move hit him with a problem.
Alex said telepathically, "Scizor, don't prepare a new move and get ready to use [Protect]."
Arcanine suffered a small wound from the hit, but it didn't seem that he suffered much damage. Alex would estimate it to be between 10 and 15%.
It's not a lot of damage, but in Alex's mind, that damage and [Sandstrom] was the reward for Scizor and his effort.
It didn't take Arcanine much longer to get within range of his move. He uses [Heat Wave] almost imdiately after he gets in range.
Scizor was ready for that mont and he used [Protect] and successfully blocked almost all of the damage. He only takes 10% damage, bringing his HP to 60 or 70%.
If [Protect] is not used against moves from a Pokemon with a large level advantage or against strong moves on the master rank, the stability of [Protect] is not bad.
Scizor or Arcanine imdiately began preparing a new move even though none of their trainers said a word.
Alex was a bit surprised when Arcanine suddenly prepared a move without Gary's orders.
It seems that Gary also trains his Pokemon to think independently and incorporates this into his tactics. Even if it has only been minimally developed and has not been developed to its full potential.

Scizor used [Giga Impact] and slamd his whole body into Arcanine as he was simultaneously hit by [Heat Wave].
Arcanine suffered a serious injury and lost around 35% of HP from just that 1 hit.
together with the damage from the [Sandstrom] and [Aerial Ace], Arcanine only had a little over 40% of its HP left.
By comparison, Scizor could not stand the extre heat and fell to the ground, unconscious.
However, Alex showed a proud expression as he went to Scizor to heal his Pokemon. The fact that Scizor can do so much damage against Arcanine is, in Alex's opinion, a victory in itself.
The judge said with a first expression, "Competitor Alex, please call your next Pokemon within 30 seconds."
But Alex didn't say anything and just looked at the referee who was looking at his watch.
When there were only 10 seconds left, the referee started counting down as he indicated the number of seconds with his finger.
Only after only 2 seconds were left did Alex summon his next Pokemon.
Gary understood that Alex was doing this to make Arcanine take more damage from [Sandstrom] but he couldn't help but show a slightly angry expression as he saw Arcanine's expression worsen.
but he didn't say anything to Alex and just looked at the Pokemon that Alex summoned.
