Priape had already focused as much as it could, yet there was still no way to avoid Lapras's attack.

The reporter clearly hadn't expected such an explosive answer. She imdiately beca excited and respectfully held the microphone closer to Sam.
"Player Sam seems very confident. Can you tell the audience where your confidence cos from?"
"It's simple," Sam said with a confident smile. "Because I have absolute confidence in my own strength."
In front of the TV, Misty looked at Sam's interview with confusion.
"Sam's interview feels a bit unlike him. He's not soone who likes to be in the spotlight."
Based on Misty's understanding of him, this kind of post-match interview style didn't really match Sam's personality.

"I think Sam must have his own reasons for doing this."
Misty and Brock were right. There really was a reason Sam had changed his usual style during the interview. It all started with the phone call he received from Professor Oak the day before.
"Sam, the Indigo Plateau Conference is a huge stage. You must seize this opportunity and promote yourself as much as possible."
Professor Oak's voice ca through the phone.
"Promote myself?" Sam didn't fully understand why Professor Oak had asked him to do this. But he decided to follow the advice anyway. After all, Professor Oak would never harm him.
This was the real reason Sam had changed his usual style during interviews.
After the interview, Sam wiped the sweat from his forehead. To be honest, acting so confidently in front of the cara felt a little awkward.
But there was one thing he had to admit.
Showing off like that was surprisingly satisfying.
In the Water Field, Rock Field, and Grass Field, Sam encountered little trouble during the first three qualifier rounds. But in the final Ice Field, Sam finally t a difficult opponent.

Sam snapped his fingers.
"Co out, Venusaur."
"It's here! Sam's third Pokémon has appeared—Venusaur! This should be Sam's final Pokémon!" the comntator exclaid.
Ashin's expression turned grim. His luck was truly terrible. Both Cloyster and Dewgong, his Ice-type Pokémon, had already lost their ability to fight. The only one left was Poliwrath, a Water-type Pokémon.
If Sam knew what Ashin was thinking right now, he would probably tell him with a smile that it didn't matter. Even if Cloyster and Dewgong were still able to battle, the outco would not change.
In front of Venusaur, these Pokémon simply weren't strong enough.
"Venusaur, use Razor Leaf."
Countless green blades appeared around Venusaur like floating scimitars.
The dense swarm of leaves was so overwhelming that anyone who saw it would feel intimidated.

The countless green blades instantly launched toward Poliwrath.
Poliwrath fired Ice Beam from its mouth, trying to stop the Razor Leaves from approaching. But there were simply too many.
The first blade broke through its defense.
Then the second.
Then the third.
Soon, all the Razor Leaves pierced through the defensive line.
The entire audience stared with wide eyes, afraid of missing even a single mont.
Poliwrath cried out in pain under the storm of blades.
The outco was already decided.
"Poliwrath has lost its ability to fight! Venusaur wins!"
