"Houndoom, use Flathrower!"
Trainers who managed to reach the main tournant were naturally strong both in skill and ntality. Lily was not affected by the cheering crowd or the sudden appearance of Lorelei in the stands. From the very beginning, she chose the most appropriate attacking move.
A pillar of fire burst from Houndoom's mouth.
The legendary flas said to co from hell truly lived up to their reputation. Unlike ordinary flas, Houndoom's fire was darker in color and carried a strong sulfur-like sll.
Lapras had no way to dodge.
Its mobility on land was almost zero, so Sam could only respond with a direct counterattack.
"Lapras, use Surf!"
Or rather—
Calling it a waterfall descending from the sky might be more accurate.
The water elents in the air rapidly gathered behind Lapras. Soon, a massive waterfall appeared behind it, towering like a curtain of water.
The audience rubbed their eyes in disbelief.
Was there sothing wrong with their vision?
But the sound of rushing water echoed throughout the stadium.
Eyes could deceive people.
Ears could not.
"No way… this is too terrifying!" Lily gasped, overwheld by Lapras's unbelievable power.
"Did I see that correctly?! Lapras actually summoned a huge waterfall!" the comntator shouted excitedly. "Houndoom is in serious danger!"
The comntator was absolutely right.
Houndoom was in danger.
The waterfall surged forward like a roaring tide. Houndoom's Flathrower was instantly extinguished by the overwhelming flood.
Riding atop the cascading water, Lapras charged forward.
Water dragons erged from the waterfall, surrounding Lapras like loyal guardians.
The battlefield was quickly subrged, leaving Houndoom trapped with nowhere to escape.
Under Lapras's command, the water dragons rushed toward Houndoom.
Each dragon carried terrifying destructive force.
One strike.
Two strikes.
Three strikes.
Houndoom had no chance to resist. Under the continuous assault of the water dragons, it quickly lost its ability to battle.
The entire stadium fell silent.
Everyone stared at Lapras in stunned disbelief.
Even Lorelei in the audience let out a long breath.
She had never expected Sam and Lapras to give her such a huge surprise. What puzzled her the most was how Lapras could control such a vast amount of water energy.
This level of power should normally be far beyond what Lapras could control at its current strength.
The water gradually receded, and the battlefield returned to calm.
After using several powerful water-type techniques in succession, Lapras was clearly exhausted.
It slowly walked to Sam's side and called softly.
It wanted to rest.
Sam smiled and recalled it into its Poké Ball.
"Good job, Lapras. Get so rest."
Lily's expression was not pleasant.
She had already considered Sam strong during her earlier observations, but it was now obvious that he was even stronger than she had expected.
If she didn't fight with everything she had, she would have no chance of winning.
"Co out, Typhlosion!"
If Charmander was the starter Pokémon most desired by young Trainers in Kanto, then Cyndaquil was the dream starter Pokémon for every new Trainer in Johto.
Typhlosion was the evolved form of Cyndaquil.
As its na suggested, Typhlosion had an extrely fiery temper—but for a Fire-type Pokémon, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Rage gave Typhlosion incredible power.
When it beca angry, the flas on its back burned violently, sotis even erupting explosively.
---
Pokémon: Typhlosion
Type: Fire
Strength: High Gym Level
Potential: Elite
---
Sam narrowed his eyes.
This Lily clearly wasn't an ordinary Trainer. She likely had a powerful background in Johto. The Pokémon she possessed were all exceptional.
Both her starter Pokémon and Typhlosion had Elite-level potential.
Typhlosion, huh…
What opponent could be more fitting for it than Charizard?
This was bound to be an exciting battle.
"Co out, Charizard!"
Sam threw the Poké Ball high into the air.
With a flash of light—
Charizard appeared.
"Charizard! It's Charizard!!!"
The audience erupted with excitent.
This was no longer just a simple battle.
It was a clash between the final evolution of Kanto's Fire starter and the final evolution of Johto's Fire starter.
To many spectators, it had beco a matter of regional pride.
Most people attending the Indigo Plateau Conference were from Kanto.
Naturally, they cheered loudly for Charizard.
The entire stadium echoed with support for Sam's Charizard.
Typhlosion was furious.
Very furious.
It already had a hot temper, and being treated differently by the audience only made it angrier.
"ROOOAR!!!"
Typhlosion roared in rage.
The flas on its back erupted violently, crackling with explosive energy.
Rage gave Typhlosion trendous power.
At this mont, it had reached its peak battle condition.
"Well done, Typhlosion!" Lily smiled again. She was confident that her Pokémon could secure victory.
Seeing Typhlosion in such an aggressive state, Sam rubbed his forehead slightly.
This was going to be troubleso.
Originally, Charizard—at mid Gym level—was already slightly weaker than Typhlosion.
Now Typhlosion had built up montum as well.
Winning wouldn't be easy.
Looks like they would have to give it everything.
"Charizard… activate Blaze!"
There was no room for hesitation.
Against a strong opponent, it was best to reveal all your cards from the beginning. Otherwise, you might not even have the chance to use them later.
Charizard roared in response.
The fla on its tail flared violently as its aura rapidly surged.
"Blaze?! Player Sam is actively activating Charizard's Blaze ability!" the comntator shouted excitedly.
"I have to say, Sam has surprised us once again! I have a feeling this battle will be the most exciting match of the day!"
The audience's cheers grew louder.
Under the thunderous applause of the crowd—
The battle between the two powerful Fire-type Pokémon began.
"Typhlosion, Flathrower!"
"Charizard, Flathrower as well!"
Two pillars of blazing fire shot across the battlefield.
