"Oh, our great hero who saved the Orange Islands is here."
After Sam broke into the spacecraft, Gilruta showed no signs of panic. He remained seated calmly on his throne-like chair.
Compared to him, his assistant was far less composed. Her hands trembled uncontrollably, panic written all over her face.
"Tell what you want," Gilruta said arrogantly, looking down at Sam.
Sam almost laughed at his attitude. This so-called richest man in Kanto clearly didn't understand the situation he was in.
"I'm afraid you won't be able to give what I want," Sam replied with a faint smile. But his voice was cold—so cold it sent chills down the spine.
"I can't give it to you?!"
Gilruta stood up abruptly, spreading his arms wide as he declared proudly:
"In this world, there is nothing I can't obtain. Wealth, power, beauty, rare Pokémon—whatever you want, I can give it to you. Just serve ."
Sam found it ridiculous. Gilruta thought he could buy him like so rcenary.
Unfortunately for him, he was completely wrong.
"Since you insist, I won't hold back," Sam said calmly.
"Mr. Gilruta… lend your life."
"What?!"
There was no explanation.
Sam simply waved his hand. His Charizard stepped forward, closing the distance one step at a ti.
"Do you know who I am?! If you stop now, it's not too late!" Gilruta shouted hysterically.
"You can't afford the consequences of killing !"
"No one will know I killed you," Sam replied coldly.
Hearing this, the assistant completely lost her composure. She turned and tried to flee—but there was nowhere to run inside a flying ship.
And there was no way a human could outrun Charizard.
In an instant, Charizard caught up.
Its Dragon Claw pierced straight through her chest.
She died instantly.
Watching his assistant die before his eyes, Gilruta collapsed internally. A man who had always treated others—both humans and Pokémon—as expendable now finally understood the weight of life.
He wanted to beg.
He wanted to plead for rcy.
But it was too late.
"Charizard… Flathrower."
Sam's voice was cold and absolute.
He didn't let Charizard kill Gilruta instantly. That would have been too rciful.
Gilruta would face his punishnt.
In flas.
A horrifying scream echoed through the spacecraft as fire engulfed him. The agony was unbearable—like sothing straight out of hell.
But Sam's expression didn't change in the slightest.
He simply watched.
This was the punishnt Gilruta deserved.
"Are you leaving?" Lorelei asked softly.
"Yeah," Sam nodded. "I've been away from the Gym for too long. It's pretty embarrassing for a Gym Leader to be absent this much."
There was another reason too—he felt guilty leaving Yellow, who wasn't even fourteen yet, to manage everything alone.
It was ti to go back.
"Then… see you next ti, Sam."
"Yeah. See you next ti, Lorelei."
Riding Charizard, Sam crossed the sea. After several days of travel, he finally returned to Viridian City.
When he arrived at the Viridian Gym, Yellow couldn't believe her eyes.
She had to check multiple tis before accepting that he was really back.
Seeing Sam safe and unhard, her eyes reddened.
"I'm so glad you're okay…" she said, her voice trembling.
She had seen everything on TV—the battle against the Three Legendary Birds. Since then, she hadn't had a single peaceful night.
Now that he was finally back, safe and sound, the weight on her heart was gone.
Sam felt a bit guilty seeing how worried she had been.
He gently rubbed her head.
"It's okay. I'm fine," he said softly.
"Co on—I'll show you the new Pokémon I caught."
Sam still had a headache when it ca to Regirock.
The ancient Pokémon wasn't fully obedient yet, which was why he hadn't used it in battles against Rayquaza or Zapdos.
But there was one interesting detail—
Regirock seed to really like Yellow.
It would even follow simple commands from her.
Even a thousand-year-old titan couldn't resist her charm.
