"Boom!"
The sharp sound of a Poké Ball opening shattered the tense silence.
Murkrow burst out in a flash of white light, throwing itself between Gengar and Petrel, forcibly blocking what would have been a fatal blow.
"Whew—whew! That was close. You almost got ," Petrel said, clutching his chest and pretending to be shaken.
Sam's eyes narrowed.
In the next instant, Petrel's expression turned ice-cold.
"I lied," he said flatly. "Nidoking—Flathrower."
To Sam, even the most skilled Sichuan opera face-changing master couldn't compare to Petrel's acting speed. He clenched his teeth.
If I ever et this guy again, I'll make him pay.
"Scyther, Leaf Blade!"
Nidoking's Flathrower was impossible to dodge at this distance. Sam wasn't Ash—he couldn't pull off miracles like that. His only option was to block.
Scyther surged forward. Its right blade erupted with brilliant white light and slashed straight into the center of the raging pillar of fire—
The flas were split cleanly in half.
Fire scattered to both sides.
Standing behind Scyther, Sam felt the temperature spike violently. Sweat evaporated the instant it appeared on his skin.
Outwardly calm.
Inwardly cold.
The situation was getting worse by the second.
Gengar was locked in combat with Murkrow—no danger, but no way to break free. Scyther looked dazzling as it cleaved through the flas, but its right arm was already scorched and blackened.
Nidoking's Flathrower was far more devastating than Sam had anticipated.
What now…?
"Class!"
A familiar voice suddenly echoed in Sam's mind.
His heart leapt.
It woke up.
Sam's eyes lit up as he looked straight at Petrel—and smiled.
That smile made Petrel hesitate.
Was this kid scared out of his mind? Laughing at a ti like this?
Kids these days really had terrible ntal resilience.
"This farce ends here," Petrel said coldly, preparing to give the final order.
Then—
A massive armored figure silently appeared in front of Sam.
It didn't roar.
It didn't move.
Yet simply standing there, it radiated overwhelming pressure.

The mont Tyranitar appeared, the air itself seed to sink.
Compared to before, its presence was completely different—restrained, heavy, and terrifyingly calm.
Sam barely glanced at the evaluation flooding his vision.
Champion-level… already?
No ti to dwell on it.
After being suppressed and beaten for so long, it was finally ti to strike back.
"Tyranitar—stomp it!"
Tyranitar lifted one massive leg and slamd it into the ground.
Ground-type energy exploded outward as a violent shockwave, tearing toward Nidoking.
"Nidoking! Counter with Stomp!" Petrel shouted, startled but still confident.
"It's still just an Elite Pokémon!"
The two shockwaves collided midair.
For a split second—
Nidoking's attack shattered.
"What?!" Petrel's pupils shrank.
In a direct clash of Ground-type techniques, Nidoking lost.
The shockwave from Tyranitar didn't stop. It surged forward and slamd into Nidoking head-on.
"ROOOAAAR—!!"
Nidoking howled in pain, its legs buckling as it slamd both hands into the ground.
Power erupted violently.
"Earthquake!"
The entire building began to tremble.

Downstairs, Erika stiffened as the floor shook beneath her feet.
"What—?!"
She didn't hesitate anymore.
"I have to go up."
This operation against Team Rocket had been her proposal. If anything happened to Sam, she would never forgive herself.
"Run, Erika!"
Sam suddenly burst down the stairs from the top floor.
Without explanation, he grabbed her hand and sprinted.
Behind them, the battle between Tyranitar and Nidoking had turned ferocious. Gravely injured, Nidoking had fallen into a berserk state. Sam recalled Scyther instantly and ordered Gengar to keep Petrel pinned.
The building wouldn't hold much longer.
"It's too slow," Sam muttered.
Erika was already gasping for breath. No matter how strong her Pokémon were, she was still a sheltered noble—her stamina simply couldn't compare.
No ti to think.
Sam bent down, scooped her up, and ran.
Erika instinctively wanted to protest—Breloom could have carried her—but the words never ca.
She wrapped her arms around Sam's neck.
Pressed against his chest, she could hear his rapid heartbeat. Her face grew hotter with every step.
Sam wasn't thinking about anything improper.
He was just racing against ti.
By the ti they reached the lower floors, the top of the Rainbow Ga Corner had already begun collapsing into sand.
If they were even a mont slower, the fall alone would have crippled them.
