Chapter 147: Showdown at the Citrus Stadium (1)
The next day, 10 AM.
The Citrus Coliseum was already packed to the brim. The news of the Orange League Champion’s Cup being held had been broadcast across the entire island yesterday after Misty completed her registration. "The rules of the match are 6 versus 6. When three of either side’s Pokémon are unable to battle, the battleground will change.
During the battle, the chief Trainer’s Pokémon will not be swapped, but the challenger’s Pokémon can be freely swapped."
As the referee announced the rules, the initial Rock and Water battleground slowly rose.
"This battle will test the judgnt of the Pokemon Trainer," the referee added.

"My first Pokémon is it, Ditto!" Drake threw out his first Poké Ball.

A Gym Interdiate Ditto wasn’t a big problem for Misty. While Ditto’s transformation ability was troubleso, there were still differences in the type bonuses of its moves and its proficiency with those moves.
"Ditto, huh? I need a Fighting-type to counter it. Alright, it’s your turn, Staryu!"
Misty threw out Psyduck’s Poké Ball.
Psyduck could learn quite a few Fighting-type moves, giving it an advantage against Ditto compared to her other Pokémon.
"Go, Misty!" Serena shouted.
"Ditto, transform!"
As Drake gave the command, Ditto transford into Psyduck’s likeness. Although their appearances were identical, Ditto couldn’t imitate Psyduck’s wise gaze.
"Staryu, use Focus Punch!"
Misty didn’t intend to prolong the battle, so she imdiately had Psyduck use a Fighting-type move.
Psyduck’s eyes changed, it took a deep breath, and with an arrogant stride, it rushed forward and landed a punch.

"An Electric-type Pokémon? Psyduck will be fine."
Misty didn’t choose to switch Pokémon. Most of the Pokémon she carried were Water-type, and no matter which one, they would be at a disadvantage against an Electric-type.
"Staryu, hide behind the Rock and use Mud Shot."
Directly taking on Electric-type moves would be more disadvantageous for itself. The counterasure Misty could think of was to use the Rocks on the field to avoid Electabuzz’s moves as much as possible.
If Mud Shot could stick to Electabuzz’s face, it would affect its speed and accuracy.
"Trying to use the terrain? That’s a good tactic, but my Electabuzz isn’t that simple. Electabuzz, use Quick Attack."
Electabuzz moved swiftly, dodging Psyduck’s attacks while continuously closing in on Psyduck.
"At this rate, it will eventually get close. No, it absolutely cannot get any closer! Staryu, use Disable!"
Electabuzz was disabled when it was less than three ters away from Psyduck. At the sa ti, its Quick Attack move was also banned due to Disable’s effect.

Poor Electabuzz, like a bag of trash, was heavily smashed by Psyduck using Telekinesis onto the Rock pillar on the field.
It tried to gain an advantage but ended up losing more. It didn’t close the distance much, and it took a lot of damage.
"Electabuzz is unable to battle!" the referee shouted, raising the flag.
"Wow, challenger Misty’s Psyduck has achieved a two-win streak! I wonder what Pokémon Drake will use next to counter her?"
"Your Pokémon are very strong, but I wonder how you’ll deal with this type. Go, Gengar!"

After all, it had already defeated two, and Psychic-type moves also had an advantage against Gengar.
"Gengar, use Confuse Ray!"
Gengar flew into the air and stared wide-eyed at Psyduck.
