Chapter 67 Prosecutor Joey

After bidding farewell to Mr. Kaiser, Ash’s group headed towards their next destination, the Cinnabar Gym.

Along the way, the group experienced a stormy bicycle path, helped Ditto overco its transformation difficulties, passed through a forest inhabited by Pikachu, and also t four brothers who had a special fondness for Eevee...

After a long journey, Ash and the others arrived at a small town called Dark City.

Brock looked at the empty streets, saying, "Sothing’s not right. It’s broad daylight, so why isn’t there a single soul in sight? It’s really strange."

No sooner had he spoken than a child rushed out of a house not far in front of them.

"Don’t just run outside! What if a Pokemon Trainer sees you?"

Before the child could run a few steps, a parent chased them out and brought them back inside the house.

"Huh? What does that an? What did Pokemon Trainers do to them?" Misty asked, a bit annoyed.

Whoosh~

"Pikachu, Iron Tail."

Hearing sothing coming, Ash hurriedly told Pikachu to block it.

After batting away the flying stone, Ash said to the rooftop, "You kids up there, I see you. Co down quickly."

On the rooftop, the three little boys heard Ash’s words and, flustered, fell directly down.

"Hey, are you guys okay?" Ash quickly went forward to check on them.

"Are you guys Pokemon Trainers?"

A little boy in a red shirt asked.

"Yes. You guys are hostile towards Pokemon Trainers, is it because soone is using Pokemon to do bad things?" Ash inquired.

"Let explain, gentlen. These children have caused you trouble."

At this mont, an uncle ran over.

"Gentlen, please co to my house first. We can sit down and talk slowly."

Under the uncle’s guidance, Ash and his group arrived at a restaurant.

"To be honest with you, the situation is like this: the Yas Gym and Kaz Gym in our city, in order to compete for the Pokémon League Gym qualification issued by the League, are hiring traveling Trainers as thugs. As a result, whenever sothing happens, they start Pokemon duels regardless of the occasion. Everyone is often affected by this, which is why they have developed a dislike for Pokemon Trainers," the uncle explained.

"Is that so? It seems the problems with these two Gyms are truly not minor."

"How about this, we’ll help you solve this matter," Ash suggested.

Gyms are very easy to make money from. Ash estimated that these two Gyms both wanted to beco the face of Dark City and then accumulate wealth.

Such actions, using Pokemon to do bad things for personal gain, are truly unforgivable.

"They’re here!"

A child shouted, looking out the window.

"What’s wrong?" Misty looked at the situation outside in confusion.

"It’s a small skirmish between the Yas Gym and the Kaz Gym." The uncle looked outside, his expression growing tense. "Gentlen, you should go to the second floor first."

"No, I’m going to stop them."

Ash’s face was a bit grim as he looked outside.

Outside, on the street, two groups of Pokemon Trainers, dressed in different clothes, were engaging in an unrestrained brawl.

It was no wonder that the citizens of Dark City hated Pokemon Trainers; these people fought without any rules, even more chaotically than street thugs. Street thugs at least knew not to cause trouble for others, but these guys were different; the biggest losses from their fights were the houses on both sides of the street.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt them to make these guys sober up."

"Pika~chu!"

Pikachu jumped into the middle of the battlefield and rcilessly unleashed a powerful bolt of lightning.

"Numb... Numb!"

Both groups of people twitched on the spot from the shock.

Ash watched coldly. After about half a minute, he slowly spoke, "Pikachu, that’s enough."

"You damn brat, Scyther, go teach him a lesson!" The leader of the Yas Gym ordered his Pokemon.

"Qia~"

Scyther charged forward, swinging its hand blades.

"They never learn. Pikachu, finish it with Iron Tail, then use Thunder to make these guys calm down properly again."

"Pika!"

Pikachu rushed up and struck Scyther’s face with a tail whip. The powerful force directly sent Scyther flying back. Afterwards, Pikachu once again unleashed lightning, shocking the group of people thoroughly.

"Mr. Ash, please show rcy!"

At this mont, a voice sounded behind Ash. The heavily disguised custor who had been sitting at the table next to Ash and his group stood up.

"Ah? Ms. Nurse Joy, are you going to take these guys away?"

Ash had already sensed with Aura that there was an exceptionally powerful Ms. Nurse Joy hidden in this small restaurant.

If he wasn’t mistaken, this Ms. Nurse Joy was the most talented Trainer in the entire Joy Family, the Pokémon League prosecutor who possessed the legendary Pokémon Latias.

"Ah? As expected of Mr. Ash, my disguise was seen through so quickly."

Upon hearing this, Nurse Joy reluctantly removed her disguise. This was sothing she had carefully prepared for a long ti, and she hadn’t expected it to be exposed as soon as she appeared.

"Ms. Nurse Joy, I believe you must be the prosecutor dispatched by the League, right? I think you’ve seen the behavior of these two Gyms in Dark City recently. If these people aren’t taught a lesson, they won’t understand what the responsibilities of a Gym Leader are," Ash said.

"Mr. Ash, you are absolutely right. These two Gyms indeed have significant problems. I will report the specific situation to the League and temporarily suspend the issuance of Gym licenses for Dark City."

Even though Nurse Joy was a Pokémon League prosecutor, she still needed to humble herself in front of Ash. After all, prosecutors could be elected if they had enough strength, but in terms of Pokemon research, without so qualifications, it would be difficult even to be a researcher, let alone a professor.

"Then I’ll leave them to you, Ms. Nurse Joy. It would be best to have them repair the damaged items first, and then proceed with educational punishnt," Ash suggested.

"No problem, and I must thank Mr. Ash for your help."
