Leaders from various nations, along with Drakoria's officials, watched as Julian manded Rayquaza to defeat the First-class Legendary named Kyurem.
Then they watched Julian stand on top of Rayquaza's head and begin posing for photos—everyone fell silent.
"That brat, taking photos without calling me over."
John stared at Julian on the screen, his face filled with undisguised envy.
And it wasn't just him—among those present, who wouldn't want to be like Julian, standing on Rayquaza's head and taking pictures?
Heck, even if Rayquaza stood on their heads instead, as long as someone took the picture, they would gladly accept it.
"Exactly five minutes."
James quietly let out a sigh of relief and said in a calm tone.
Deep down, he had still been a bit nervous just moments before, because they had no real idea how strong Kyurem actually was.
However, judging from the battle they had just witnessed, together with what Julian had said beforehand, Kyurem's strength was indeed inferior to Rayquaza's.
It was probably around the same level as Kyogre and Groudon.
Of course, that was also because the opponent was Rayquaza—if it had been up against humans, not even an endless stream of Champions would have been enough for it to kill.
BOOM!
About a dozen seconds later, Kyurem finally burst out from the seabed. Its body bore injuries here and there, and its expression was rather grim.
After all, it had been pletely suppressed by Rayquaza from start to finish—damn it, the dragon hadn't shown it the slightest bit of mercy.
"Kyurem, you lost," Julian said.
Hearing that, Kyurem remained silent. According to their earlier bet, if it lost, it would have to bee his Pokémon.
Go back on its word?
That didn't seem possible—after all, it had its pride.
And now it was also quite curious about this human. Why had this human gained the acknowledgment of so many First-class Legendaries?
What exactly was so extraordinary about him?
"According to our agreement, you'll bee my Pokémon."
As Julian spoke, he took out a Poké Ball and aimed it at Kyurem, but didn't throw it—seemingly signaling that he wanted Kyurem to e over and touch the Poké Ball of its own accord.
Deep down, Kyurem was definitely resistant to the idea of being Julian's Pokémon. After all, from the very beginning, it had never intended to bee anyone's Pokémon.

But who would have thought that it would lose, and lose so quickly at that.
Seeing Kyurem remain motionless, Julian said nothing and simply continued holding out the Poké Ball.
Leaders of various nations: 'Please don't agree—you're a First-class Legendary, don't say yes!'
Naturally, none of them wanted Julian to gain yet another First-class Legendary. Though, even with or without Kyurem, no one present believed they could defeat Julian anyway.
But they still couldn't bear the thought of Julian getting any stronger.
"That guy's not thinking of going back on its word, is it? Being my dear grandson's Pokémon is a blessing it would need several lifetimes to earn!"
John slammed the table in irritation. His boisterous and exaggerated manner drew a glare of disapproval from James, but deep down, James was also a bit annoyed.
He felt that this guy was being a sore loser.
"Reshiram and I are already peak First-class Legendaries now."
Just as Kyurem was hesitating, Zekrom's voice echoed directly in its mind.
"What?!"
Kyurem's eyes widened in shock as it stared at Zekrom and Reshiram in utter disbelief.
From the aura they had been releasing, it already knew they were stronger than it was, but it had never expected them to be that much stronger.
It must be understood that among their trio, their strength had always been roughly parable—even if there was a gap, it wasn't that significant.
Yet now it lagged behind the two of them by this much.
Hadn't it only slept for a few hundred years, not even a full millennium? And when it woke up, they had already bee peak First-class Legendaries?
"The reason is this human you look down on," Zekrom continued through telepathy.
Hearing that, Kyurem's eyes widened a few degrees more.
It looked at Julian, who was still patiently holding out the Poké Ball, and the look of disbelief on its face grew even stronger.
'So this human has a way to increase a First-class Legendary's strength?'
'That's why Zekrom and Reshiram acknowledged him. And not just them... the other First-class Legendaries as well.'
Kyurem felt as if it had finally found the reason why Julian had gained the favor of so many First-class Legendaries.
For a First-class Legendary to raise its level and increase its strength was a matter of immense difficulty.
How many First-class Legendaries hadn't advanced a single level in a thousand years?
If there really was a human who could help you level up quickly, then that human would be my true brother from another mother, someone I would defend with my life.
'So that's how it is!'
Having figured it out, Kyurem approached Julian, and its head gently tapped the Poké Ball.
As a red light shot out, Kyurem was drawn inside.

A voice echoed in Julian's mind, causing the corners of his mouth to lift into a faint smile.
The next second, he opened the Poké Ball, and Kyurem reappeared before him.
"From now on, we're partners."
Julian extended a fist.
Kyurem hesitated for a moment before extending its own hand and lightly bumping Julian's.
The instant their hands touched, Kyurem's pupils suddenly contracted. Then its aura began to surge, and within seconds, its level rose from 107 to 108.
'Th-This!'
After confirming that the level increase wasn't an illusion, Kyurem was more shocked than it had been by everything that had happened previously bined.
'I just bumped his hand... and I leveled up?'
'Then let me try it again.'
Bump again.
And again.
'Why isn't it working anymore? There's no energy ing through.' Kyurem was puzzled. 'Could it be that I need to switch hands?'
Just as it was about to do so, Julian spoke.
"I'll help you level up again in the future. For now, you need to accumulate energy."
His tone was both helpless and amused.
Julian couldn't help but feel that Kyurem's personality was pletely different from Zekrom's and Reshiram's.
It was... a bit of a goofball.

By now, Julian had collected almost all of the Unowns within his body, with only the last two remaining.
As a result, besides his original passive abilities Unown's Protection and Unown's Evolution, he had gained a new passive ability: Unown's Energy.
This could raise the level of a First-class Legendary.
Zekrom and Reshiram had reached the peak of the First-class Legendary tier through this ability, and with the exclusive Pokéblocks Julian supplied, plus an enormous amount of other resources.
Julian could also tell that Kyurem still wasn't entirely convinced by him, so after capturing it, he immediately gave it a little taste of the benefits.
After all, no First-class Legendary could resist being stronger.
And sure enough, the way Kyurem was looking at him now was already vastly different from before.
"Dad, when's the next time?"
Hearing the way Kyurem addressed him, Julian took a deep breath before giving Kyurem another careful look.
Not only was this guy a bit of a goofball... but it turned out it also deeply understood how to read the room.
Celebi and Jirachi exchanged a glance. They both felt as though they had just encountered a formidable rival.
Zekrom and Reshiram also exchanged a look. Both of them were now regretting why they had ever persuaded this guy to join their big family.
