"There should be people here who use Dragon-type Pokémon, so just send one out to test it," Aoki said.

The researchers from the Kalos region turned their attention to Doracena.

Doracena's attire resembled that of a tribal shaman, yet she was a gentle soul who enjoyed helping others, always wearing a kind smile.

It was said her grandparents hailed from Celestic Town in the Sinnoh region, which was why she specialized in Dragon-type Pokémon.

Noticing the eyes on her, Doracena's cheeks flushed slightly, but without hesitation, she tossed a Poké Ball onto the mist-covered field.

A Pokémon with a crimson head and a light-blue body materialized before the crowd.

Druddigon!

A Dragon-type Pokémon native to the Unova region, Druddigon was well-known among those familiar with Dragon-types. Though not the most prominent among its kin, as a pure Dragon-type, it was perfectly suited for this test.

Pokémon: Druddigon (Light Blue)

Gender: Male

Level: 52

Type: Dragon

Ability: Rough Skin

Held Item: None

Egg Moves: Thunder Fang, Crush Claw, Iron Tail, tal Claw

Basic Moves: Leer, Scratch, Hone Claws, Bite, Scary Face, Dragon Rage, Slash, Chip Away, Dragon Claw, Revenge, Night Slash, Dragon Tail, Rock Climb

Learnt Moves: Thunder Punch, Dragon Pulse, Outrage, Snore, Stomp

TM Moves: Bulldoze, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Flathrower, Rock Tomb, Stone Edge

Aoki took the opportunity to scan Druddigon's data.

If I ever face Doracena in battle, this intel will be useful.

"Professor, could you send out a Pokémon to test it?" Aoki asked Matsuda.

Matsuda paused, then understood—Aoki wanted him to have a Pokémon withstand Druddigon's attack since Aoki was still in the middle of his demonstration.

He shot Aoki an annoyed glare but said nothing, releasing his trusted partner—Charizard.

Doracena wasted no ti. "Druddigon, use Dragon Claw on Charizard!"

"Rooaar!"

Three claws wreathed in draconic energy slashed toward Charizard.

BOOM!

Charizard blocked the strike with one arm, its expression unfazed. The attack barely registered.

"Ms. Florges, dispel the Misty Terrain," Aoki instructed. "Doracena, have Druddigon attack again."

Florges withdrew the misty veil, and Druddigon struck once more—sa move, sa power, sa angle.

This ti, however, Charizard visibly strained. Its arm dipped under the force, and its expression tightened.

As Charizard's Trainer, Matsuda imdiately sensed the difference.

That second hit was nearly twice as strong as the first.

The room fell silent.

Even the mild-mannered Doracena was stunned. The Misty Terrain did weaken Dragon-type moves.

The dominance of Dragon-types was under threat.

Next, Aoki had Florges demonstrate Moonblast, another Fairy-type move.

"Fairy-type moves are super effective against Dragon-types," Aoki explained. "But since Doracena is competing, it's best not to use her Pokémon as a target."

"Then use my Garchomp," Professor Sycamore offered, stepping forward.

After witnessing the earlier tests, he was 80% convinced of Aoki's claims. Now, he needed to see if Moonblast truly countered Dragon-types.

With a flash of light, a formidable Garchomp appeared.

Compared to Doracena's Druddigon, Garchomp was a true Dragon-type powerhouse.

Sycamore's Garchomp was Champion-level, so Florges' attack wouldn't harm it much—but the reaction would be telling.

Aoki nodded. "Florges, use Moonblast on Garchomp."

Though the attack barely fazed Garchomp, the massive land shark flinched, its body instinctively resisting the Fairy-type energy.

Sycamore confird it—Moonblast did affect Dragon-types.

By now, the researchers were over 70% convinced of Fairy-type's legitimacy.

"Aoki, are there other Fairy-type moves you can demonstrate?" Professor Oak asked.

Aoki obliged, having Florges showcase Charm, Flower Shield, and Fairy Wind in succession.

With so many new moves displayed, acceptance of the Fairy-type soared to 90%.

Only minor details remained uncertain.

The implications were staggering—new moves, a new type chart, and a direct counter to Dragon-types.

The researchers' gazes toward Aoki were a mix of awe, pride, and envy.

How did soone so young discover an entirely new type?

And why is he affiliated with the Hoenn League instead of ours?

The Kalos League President's expression was especially conflicted. Aoki had solved a major mystery—yet he wasn't from Kalos.

anwhile, Adams, the Hoenn League representative, sat smugly.

That's right. Keep seething.

With Aoki and Steven as Hoenn's rising stars, the region's future was brighter than ever.

Finally, Aoki elaborated further—Fairy-type also resisted Dark, Bug and Fighting moves, though Dragon-types bore the brunt of its impact.

"Very well," a voice from the blank projector spoke. The room tensed—this was the League's highest authority.

"Aoki, you've done excellently. The League rewards diligence. No one will suppress your discovery. Once the details are finalized, the Fairy-type will bear your na, and you will be compensated accordingly."

A pause.

"That's all. eting adjourned."

The feed cut.

One by one, the holograms vanished as the officials dispersed, preparing for the upheaval this revelation would bring.

The age of Fairy-types had arrived.
