As a direct mber of the Dragon Clan, nearly every mber possesses a pseudo-legendary Dratini. This is the true source of the Lance family's power. Their control over the Dragon's Den equates to dominion over a stable source of rare Dragon-type Pokémon. The Dragon's Den itself was established generations ago by the Dragon clan's ancestors, long before the Pokémon League existed. Fortunately, Dratini's low reproduction rate prevented the League from intervening, as the Dragon Clan's influence remained balanced and mutually beneficial.
The direct lineage of the family is small—of Clair's generation, only she and her cousin Lance are publicly known. Both tad their Dratini after passing the family's trials, and both began their journeys with Charmander. Their paths mirror each other closely.
Clair's Dragonair, though unevolved, remains one of her strongest Pokémon.

This Dragonair, just one level from evolution, is a testant to pseudo-legendary potential. Its dark teal coloration signifies rare bloodline purity, with three inherited Dragon-type moves and mastery of Outrage and Draco teor. Clair had previously reserved Dragonair for decisive battles, but now, with her Gyarados and Flygon fainted and her Charizard exposed to counter Aoki's Florges, Dragonair's intervention is critical.
Upon entry, Dragonair was poisoned by Toxic Spikes. Though it levitates, the magnetic field disruption forced an adjustnt period. Yet Clair remained confident—Shed Skin could cure the status. True to form, the ability activated swiftly.
The Drapion, facing an unfamiliar foe, hesitated. Aoki commanded a relentless assault: "Drapion, Tri Attack! Ice Fang! Poison Sting! Venoshock!"
Clair responded with precision: "Dragonair, Dragon Dance—then Draco teor!" She needed a swift victory.
Drapion lunged, claws, fangs, and tail glowing with respective attacks. Dragonair's serpentine form proved elusive; its scales deflected grabs as it perford the ritualistic Dragon Dance. Only Ice Fang landed cleanly.
With the dance complete, Dragonair spat a golden orb skyward. Seconds later, teors rained down. Drapion dodged frantically, but Dragonair guided the projectiles with eerie accuracy.
"Drapion, Agility! Shadow Ball!" Aoki's counter was desperate.
"Dragonair, Dragon Rush!" Clair pressed her advantage.
Drapion's speed blurs across the battlefield, hurling Shadow Balls upward. Dragonair weaved through most, cloaked in blue draconic energy, and slamd into Drapion. The impact cratered the ground, but Drapion's pincers and tail clamped onto Dragonair's body, scales be damned.
"Now! Ice Fang—aim for the neck!" Aoki roared.
"Dragon Tail!" Clair's retort was calm.
The exchange was brutal. Dragonair's thrashing tail battered Drapion, but the Ice Fang strike left frost creeping across Dragonair's throat. Ultimately, Drapion collapsed, spent. Dragonair, though wounded, remained standing.
Aoki recalled Drapion with quiet praise, then sent out his next Pokémon. Dragonair's stamina was halved—if it fell now, Aoki's unplayed Florges would tip the scales decisively.
