Though this move was super effective, dealing quadruple damage due to Whiscash's dual typing, Gengar's lack of specialization in Grass-type moves ant the damage output was still limited.
anwhile, Whiscash utilized its aquatic advantage, striking unpredictably with Hydro Pump and other Water-type attacks. The obscured angle made it difficult for Gengar to anticipate the attacks, and whenever it hovered too low, Whiscash retaliated with Ground-type moves like Earthquake and Earth Power.
The combination of these two powerful attacks quickly wore down Gengar, whose frail defenses left it vulnerable.
Wallace's clever use of the mixed terrain had regained him so control over the battle.

Milotic slithered forward with surprising speed, its serpentine body gliding effortlessly across the grass.
A beam of freezing energy shot from its forehead, aid directly at Florges.
Florges, not built for speed, couldn't evade easily. Instead, it cast Grassy Terrain beneath itself, bracing for the attack.
The Ice Beam struck, chilling its petals, but Florges retaliated by forming a glowing Energy Ball between its hands and hurling it at Milotic.
Milotic halted abruptly, its tail gleaming with tallic energy as it swung down, shattering the Energy Ball mid-air.
With an ethereal cry, it summoned an Icy Wind, pelting Florges with frost.
Florges responded by summoning Magical Leaf, sending razor-edged foliage slicing toward Milotic.
The exchange left both Pokémon wounded—Florges slowed by frost, Milotic bruised by super-effective Grass damage.
Undeterred, Milotic surged forward, its tail now sheathed in both water and steel—a combined Aqua Tail and Iron Tail!
Florges conjured a floral shield, blocking the Aqua Tail, but the Iron Tail smashed through, sending it skidding out of the Grassy Terrain.
Milotic pressed the assault, lunging toward the fallen Florges for a finishing blow.
