Although this was beneficial for both Bagon and himself, Aoki still thought that Kommo-o's actions were incredibly reckless.

After Aoki's repeated and emphatic commands, Kommo-o reluctantly put bucket down.
It wiped red liquid from its mouth.
It had been so enjoyable!
Even though it looked like blood, it didn't taste tallic at all; it was just a little hot and spicy, and it slled wonderful.
Aoki quickly put away remaining half bucket, feeling a pang of loss, and then directed Kommo-o to eat remaining materials he had set out.
Data from system's real-ti monitoring showed that decline in Kommo-o's energy levels gradually stabilized.
Area on its neck where scale had been removed had already scabbed over and showed signs of rapid recovery.
Aura of Kommo-o also stabilized noticeably.
Aoki let out a long breath of relief.
It was finally stable.
Although it was not as powerful as it was imdiately after breaking through, its level had at least not dropped.
Remaining at level 85 ant losses could be slowly recovered over ti.
Fortunately, Aoki happened to have precisely right things; otherwise, a demotion would have been inevitable.
And intervention had to happen before demotion was complete.
If Kommo-o's level had actually fallen, Aoki would have been powerless to reverse situation.
Fortunately, ending was a good one.
Kommo-o also slowly recovered from its lethargic state. Although it was still noticeably weak, it did not affect its ability to move.
Only then did it have energy to turn its full attention to Bagon that was still evolving.
Kommo-o was now standing next to Aoki, and Slowking and Mismagius were no longer on guard against it.

With such a powerful Pokemon present, and deep within forest territory of Beedrill, Aoki didn't think any wild Pokemon would be foolish enough to cause trouble now.

A sound emanated from evolving Bagon.
Its size gradually grew larger, and its body, which originally walked upright, slowly lowered to ground, while its forrly slender form suddenly beca thick and incredibly strong.
White glow of evolution finally dissipated.
A Pokemon appeared, its body wrapped in white, shell-like armor with only its eyes and limbs exposed.
Shelgon!
Bagon had evolved successfully!
Shelgon was sowhat similar to Pupitar; its mobility was not very convenient, as it was also in a period of accumulating vast energy, waiting for right opportunity to evolve one final ti into Salance.
Seeing Bagon's newly evolved form, Kommo-o was initially stunned.
Clearly, it had not expected Bagon to beco this particular form after evolution.
However, judging from its aura and energy signature, Kommo-o still recognized that this Pokemon was forr Bagon, and it could still sense residual energy of its own sacrificed scale on its body.

Kommo-o roared excitedly.

It reached out and gave Shelgon a hearty slap on its hard back.

Kommo-o used a bit too much force, and newly evolved Shelgon fell to ground with all four legs splayed out.
Seeing Shelgon in this state, all Pokemon and Aoki laughed.
Happiest of all was Kommo-o.
Shelgon wasn't angry. It looked at Kommo-o with complex eyes, not knowing how to express what it felt.
As beneficiary of Kommo-o's imnse sacrifice, it had seen Kommo-o rip its own scale out, and it knew it had been done for its sake. It simply did not know how to express its gratitude.
It couldn't understand why this Pokemon of sa Dragon type, whom it had just t for first ti, would be so good to it.
Kommo-o, also not knowing how to properly express its feelings to Shelgon, let smile fade from its face and instead gently patted Shelgon on back again.
It showed a relaxed and profoundly liberated expression.
