From the looks of it, Vaporeon seed to have completely rged with the water in the pool.
With the naked eye, it was impossible to tell where it was hiding. Even as it moved, it created no splashes or ripples!
What an impressive species' ability.
"Jolteon, stay alert!"
Jolteon, sharp and vigilant, kept its eyes on the water's surface. This situation, unlike anything it had faced before, made it uneasy.
Its body tensed, pacing by the poolside. Despite its readiness, it hesitated to enter the water, knowing the disadvantage it would face.
"Vaporeon, use Water Pulse!"
At Rainer's command, a powerful orb of water shot out from the pool and struck Jolteon before it could react.
Though Jolteon had braced itself, the speed of the Water Pulse was too fast, leaving no ti to dodge.
Splash!
Fortunately, Water Pulse was not particularly strong against an Electric-type Pokémon.
The attack pushed Jolteon back a few steps but caused only minor damage. It wasn't confused by the attack either, keeping its composure.
Vaporeon briefly surfaced before vanishing back into the water.
"Is it planning to keep hiding like this?" Kai muttered.
Without hesitation, Kai shouted, "Jolteon, aim for the pool and use Discharge!"
Electric sparks crackled across Jolteon's fur as it released a powerful surge of electricity directly into the water.
Zzzt!
The pond sizzled and boiled like a frying pan as electricity surged through it.
Vaporeon tried to leap out of the water to avoid the attack, but despite its swift movents, it was too late.
The electricity coursed through its body, wrapping it in crackling yellow light.
Vaporeon cried out in pain, and as the Discharge ended, it struggled to climb onto the shore. Its body was battered, its movents laboured.
"Finish it off, Jolteon!" Kai commanded. "Use Thunder Fang!"
Jolteon leapt forward, electricity sparking from its sharp teeth as it sank them into Vaporeon's side.
With two consecutive super-effective hits, Vaporeon couldn't take any more. It collapsed onto the ground, unable to continue.
Rainer raised his hand and announced, "Vaporeon is unable to battle. Jolteon wins!"
Cheers and applause erupted from the crowd. Trainers whispered to one another in amazent.
"Did you see that? He defeated Rainer's Vaporeon! This guy knows his stuff."
"Yeah, but his face isn't familiar. Is he from around here?"
Rainer gently picked up his fainted Vaporeon and sighed in disappointnt. "Ah, I lost. Compared to and my younger brother, your Jolteon is definitely superior."
Kai smiled politely. "Your Vaporeon is strong, too. This battle helped my Jolteon improve even more."
Kai knew his victory wasn't sothing to boast about. Jolteon had both an attribute advantage and greater experience compared to Vaporeon.
At that mont, Pyro stepped forward, brimming with enthusiasm. "Now it's my turn!" he declared, pushing Rainer aside.
"My Flareon has no disadvantage against your Jolteon! We'll see whose Eeveelution is stronger!"
True to his fiery nature, Pyro didn't even wait for Kai to confirm his readiness before sending out Flareon.
Flareon's crimson fur glead in the sunlight. Its fluffy tail, mane, and forehead tufts added to its intimidating appearance.
Kai crouched down and asked Jolteon softly, "Are you still good to go?"
Jolteon turned and nodded confidently.
Kai grinned. "Alright, I'll count on you again!"
"Flareon, use Fire Spin!" Pyro shouted.
Flareon unleashed a swirling vortex of fire, aiming to trap Jolteon. But Jolteon's quick reflexes allowed it to leap out of harm's way.
"So fast! But let's see how many tis you can dodge!" Pyro exclaid. "Flareon, keep attacking!"
"Jolteon, use Quick Attack!" Kai countered.
Jolteon darted forward in a blur of speed, evading the Fire Spin and ramming into Flareon. The impact caused Flareon to stagger back, though it quickly regained its footing.
"Not bad!" Pyro grinned. "Flareon, use Fire Fang!"
Flareon lunged forward, fiery fangs bared. Jolteon couldn't dodge in ti and was bitten. It winced in pain, twisting its body in an attempt to shake Flareon off.
"Jolteon, use Discharge!" Kai commanded.
Lightning burst from Jolteon, forcing Flareon to release its grip. The Electric-type and Fire-type Pokémon faced each other, both breathing heavily.
Jolteon had taken considerable damage, and the battle was evenly matched.
"Flareon, use Flathrower!"
Flas erupted from Flareon's mouth, narrowly missing Jolteon as it darted aside.
However, the stray flas ignited the grass nearby, creating a wall of fire on one side of the battlefield.
The field was now divided in two fire on one side, water on the other.
